It may not be the most popular route to go, especially because Fields is such a great leader and teammate, but this group has won 10 games in the last 34. A 10-24 record. Fields is 8-22 in those games and 10-30 overall. This is not a tough decision. There is no way Fields returns. For Flus, you have to win the Division before you do anything else. With 3 days remaining until the rookies report here's who I'm focused on this year in camp/preseason. It's a rare year with little battles to look forward to for starting jobs. So it's about the depth and future of the roster for me. I want to see Tolliver really ascend and demonstrate confidence to take over one of the outside CB slots next year. Unless the absolute second-coming of Walter Payton is available when the Bears draft at 3.26, they should trade the pick. Amos was quietly promoted to practicing with the 1st string. Vereen, after a poor showing against Miami, is back to 2nd string. It appears this will hold through the 2nd preseason game. Jennings had a veteran day off and McManis got his snaps as the first team nickel back.
