  1. Vincent Jackson to only miss four games if traded Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 16, 2010 1:56 PM ET A potential trade of Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson just got easier. Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports that Jackson will only miss four games at the start of the 2010 season, should he get traded anytime soon. (Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune also has the news.) Jackson remains suspended three games by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Jackson was also set to miss an additional three games after he reported to a team because he was placed on the Chargers roster exempt list. But the NFL and NFLPA met Thur…

Have been reading around and hearing about some folks that "could" fit into the Bears plans. Nothing solid mind you just rumors. Names on the list: Berrian ( ), Carolina's Steve Smith ( ), NE's Logan Mankins ( ) , Alphonso Boone (this one actually is more true than not) and I even heard someone mention Jeff Garcia ( Any others out there? And I have a new candidate for Head Coach for those that are not fans of Lovie's. At the very least watch the video when you start second guess how the season is going.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl-279578 "I've played against [Hall] before -- there's no reason to shy away from him. That's hard to say after throwing four picks at a guy, but if we had to play him tomorrow, I'd go at him every time." That was Cutler's response to the valid question: "Why did you keep throwing Hall's way, when he was picking off everything in his area?" It's true that Hall isn't exactly Brandon Flowers(notes) or Darrelle Revis(notes), but this goes beyond hubris on Cutler's part. Easy enough to give a perfunctory answer about how Hall played a great game, and "the breaks just didn't go our way," blah blah blah ... but this? …

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...r-has-mcl-tear/ Maybe all of you people calling him soft can apologize? Cutler can get bashed for a lot of things, but "soft" isn't one of them. Oh and the national sports media doesn't like to talk about how right after Cutler's "No comment" in regards to NFL players questioning his toughness, he turned around and started to cry.

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/02/08/rep...chester-taylor/ LAKE FOREST, Ill. (CBS) – A published report says the Bears are planning to release backup running back Chester Taylor before next season. John Mullin of Comcast SportsNet reported that at age 32, Taylor’s arrow is “definitely not pointing up.” Taylor was signed to a four-year, $12.5 million contract in March 2010, and last season averaged 2.38 yards per carry, which Comcast calls “a dreadful mark.” The Bears have already paid him $7 million, and his base salary for 2011 is expected to be $1.275 million, Comcast reported. The Bears have not released an official comment on the subject. What an inc…

A team with a pretty decent return game/return man might be exceptionally impacted by these proposed kickoff rule changes. I'm not sure how they'd enforce the "Wedge" part, probably something about positioning, but this could seriously change the special teams game. Moving the kickoff up and putting an extra 5 yards on touchbacks would certainly increase the amount of touchbacks and dramatically curtail the number of returns in a game.

OK folks, we have 8 teams and need 4 more. I've sent multiple emails to the 4 that aren't returning so now I'm opening it up. I've set the draft for Sat 9/3 3:00pm CST. That can still be changed if it doesn't work for too many folks. With two games down, the Bears future needs may have shifted a little. Brandon McGowan once again went down and the Bears must plan to go on with out him, so finding another S has shifted up on the Bears big board. As the world knows, the Bears also need to find a QB that won't just be counted on to be a game manager, but can be relied upon to give them a chance to win a game also. The Bears also need to continue rebuilding the OL and should look at Tampa/Carolina as a model. I have the Bears picking 17th after this week: RD1-17 Duke Robinson G Oklahoma 6-5 330 JA struggled on making this pick b/c he likes his pick Beekman and FA pickup Bruenning, but R…

Right now what we are is a top team playing not to lose. We have a good if not great defense and the best special teams squad, but our offense is lacking. lacking not because of talent but because of I'll play it safe mental thinking of our coaches. In the NFL you are here to win just look at Denver last week against the Chargers. Did they go for tie with the extra poinf......no they went for two and won the game. I ask you if you get off the bus running and it has worked well why don't you spin off that. MeaningPlay action passes. Lining up in the Shotgun is just telling the defense you are going to throw the ball it some point. Lovie and Turner..whoever is calling…

David Hagh has a good article (at least IMdO) ovr at the Trib: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...,4206126.column I particularly liked what he said about Lovie: a good pre-game coach, but not a good in-game coach. And that Lovie has surrounded himself with "yes" men. Ten wins, though, will make him look alot better, given all the prognosticators at the start of the season that had us below the Lions!
