Rusty Jones was the Bears' strength and conditioning coach from 2007 to 2012 after having been a "secret weapon" (according to Marv Levy) for the Buffalo Bills for 20 years. He retired after the 2012 season, and I remember how he emphasized flexibility and individual nutrition programs. I remember that we had fewer injuries back then, and I remember writing a post to this board back in 2013 saying that he was an unsung hero and we would miss him. here it is - I found it And surely, the Bears have been bitten by injury bugs over the years since. Pierre Ngo has been an assistant of strength and conditioning with the bears for two stints.from 2015 t…

All year it’s been kind of the same. Flashes of brilliance mixed with horrific accuracy and suspect mechanics. I keep waiting for a huge, breakout game. A ridiculous game that displays why he was the #1 pick. Something that shows him carrying the team instead of just being part of it. Then one or two fairly dominating games where he puts up big stats. Hell, even Shadeur Sanders had one today. So how long is his leash? He’s clearly not performing like a #1 pick when missing simple throws and obvious reads. The last play of the game was a brutal demonstration of both. He made the read very late when the WR was wide open. Then made a weak throw with poor anticipati…

Not all stats tell the story intended, but this is interesting nonetheless.

Watching the NE vs DEN game, holy hell those teams look like crap. Maye has 55 yards passing thru 3 quarters and 3 sacks. Whoever wins the NFC will crush either of these teams. So many what ifs for the Bears. They had a legit shot if they beat LA.

With two games down, the Bears future needs may have shifted a little. Brandon McGowan once again went down and the Bears must plan to go on with out him, so finding another S has shifted up on the Bears big board. As the world knows, the Bears also need to find a QB that won't just be counted on to be a game manager, but can be relied upon to give them a chance to win a game also. The Bears also need to continue rebuilding the OL and should look at Tampa/Carolina as a model. I have the Bears picking 17th after this week: RD1-17 Duke Robinson G Oklahoma 6-5 330 JA struggled on making this pick b/c he likes his pick Beekman and FA pickup Bruenning, but R…

Right now what we are is a top team playing not to lose. We have a good if not great defense and the best special teams squad, but our offense is lacking. lacking not because of talent but because of I'll play it safe mental thinking of our coaches. In the NFL you are here to win just look at Denver last week against the Chargers. Did they go for tie with the extra poinf......no they went for two and won the game. I ask you if you get off the bus running and it has worked well why don't you spin off that. MeaningPlay action passes. Lining up in the Shotgun is just telling the defense you are going to throw the ball it some point. Lovie and Turner..whoever is calling…

David Hagh has a good article (at least IMdO) ovr at the Trib: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...,4206126.column I particularly liked what he said about Lovie: a good pre-game coach, but not a good in-game coach. And that Lovie has surrounded himself with "yes" men. Ten wins, though, will make him look alot better, given all the prognosticators at the start of the season that had us below the Lions!

The Bears have proven over and over they cannot evaluate QB talent. Mike Holmgren has retired here to Arizona but I think the Bears should pay him to be a QB consultant for them in the upcoming draft and/or FA. Holmgren's track record finding QBs. Or if there's anyone else out there with similar credentials get him to help. We shouldn't sit back and keep hoping we make a good decision.

IMHO this is what I think the Bears should do in the FA period if all possible. In the secondary Let M.Brown and McGowan go & get Sean Jones from Clev.and Asomugha from the Raiders Move Payne to SS and Vasher/Manning to the nickel DE see if Peppers is still there to Ogun WR get either C. Johnson. T.O or T.J. Hous, Bouldin or oneone to be the number one. Move Williams to LT, sign ST. Clair at LG move Buenning to RG and find someone to back up Tait Find a center in the draft...kruetz is getting old

per espn.com. The guy will be a star. Too bad we'll settle for a veteran FA QB or draft a QB in the 3rd-5th round.

More and more, I think we are bound to draft heavy on defense, while attacking offense in FA. Look at our last two drafts. This past year, our top 3 picks were offense. The prior year, 2 of our top 3 picks were offense. Prior to these past two years, Angelo seemed to rotate between offense and defense each year. This year, I think Angelo will be going back to defense in the draft. W/ needs (at least in Angelo's eyes) at DE, DT, SLB, CB and S, I think it makes sense to Angelo to attack defense in the draft, especially as that is his strength. While there have been unquestioned misses in FA also, his better "hits" in FA have been offense (Tait, Reuben Brown,…

Just wanted to see what your thoughts were on my newest mock draft. Trade down in the 1st, pick up a 3rd and a 5th. 1. Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee ---Before the Senior Bowl, his toughness and ability to get the QB were questioned and he was a 3rd rounder. He had a great week of practices and a great Senior Bowl. He's a late 1st-early 2nd guy now. 2. Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers ---All is quiet on the Kenny Britt front. He'll probably run a measly 4.6 40 at the combine which hopefully will help him fall here. 3. 3. Fenuki Tupou, RT, Oregon ---He's a good pass AND run blocker. He can play RT or LT. It's about time we added an islander. 3. Jairus Byrd, CB, Ore…

Holy s**t- 2 consecutive classic Super Bowl's. Fitzgerald is, hands down, the best WR in the game. Holmes is the MVP. Thoughts?

As per profootballtalk.com, in summary, Warner said he's staying in Arizona or retiring, and 1/3 of the teams in the NFL have interest in Leftwhich. This is news to Bears fans since after JA's state of the Union address, many of us have taken his comments to mean that Angelo will pursue a QB in free agency. Now Warner, the top QB in free agency, is off the market. That will drive Leftwhich's price up, since as PFT pointed out, there are a ton of teams in the NFL desperate for a QB. Early indications suggest there won't be a QB really worthy of the #18 pick. Anybody we draft won't likely provide immediate competition for Orton. I mentioned in a previ…

Players who could drop because of injuries: Brian Orakpo - hamstring Rey Maualuga - hamstring Michael Crabtree - Injured his foot Players who are just stupid Andre Smith I see a real possibility that one of these guys could fall to the Bears.
