Nick Roach will be playing in Oakland next year. No big deal. We have a new regime so its time to add new players for the new era in Bears future.

Would Darius Heyward-Bey fit the bill as a speed addition to this team. Whats the deal with him? This was a first round WR that has yet to breakout. Is he a bad route runner or what?

Good move. This all but assures Carimi's last option is at G with Webb battling Scott at RT.

So I was bored and decided to take a look at 10 different mock drafts and see where players were being projected. This would give me at least somewhat of a clue for who will be there at #20. Here is what I came up. Trade down and get a lower 1st and a 3rd 1. Larry Warford, G, Kentucky --A guard to pair with Slauson, to go with Schwenke/Garza and Bushrod. Not bad. 2. Darius Slay, CB, Mississippi State --It seems like they want a young CB. Some thing Slay > Banks. 3. Brian Schwenke, C, California --Who doesn't want this guy? 4. Da'Rick Rogers, WR, Tennessee Tech --If it weren't for legal issues, he'd be knocking on round 1's door. 5. Sean Porter, OLB, Texas A&M --LB depth. 6. Sean Renfree, QB, Duke --A young QB to develop; a lot of scouts are high on him.

Listening to the Score this morning Mully brought up an interesting point. Why is Hester still on the roster? Only a returner paying 2.8 mil, if you trade him you dont have 833,000 in dead cap space. Bragging him up and offering him on draft day for a 5th or 6th rounder? Makes a lot of sense to me. I see a good team taking a flyer on him to put them over the top. He has not been good for the last 1 and 1/2 years but teams still treated him as such by altering there kickoffs. I see that as a possibility.

I am getting sick of the media mentioning how many targets Marshall had last year, and how Cutler was zeroing in on him compared to other QB's. So what about Stafford to Johnson or Luck to Wayne, who had as many targets as Marshall? I rarely hear those two QB's mentioned. Andre Johnson, AJ Green, Larry Fitzgerald, Stevie Johnson, and Victor Cruz all had a high percentage of their teams targets, yet none of them seem to have the negative stigma put on them about being targeted too much. Trestman said today that there wasn't any mental errors today. As opposed to yesterday there were quite a few. This could be huge if true. Mental errors destroyed us last yr.

With Blanchard release it will be interesting to see if Edwards or Palmer can be out McCown for roster spots. I am not really comfortable as McCown as the number two.

With the latest rounds of cuts we have a WR group of Marshall, Jeffery, Bennett, Toliver, Wilson, Anderson....and Weems/Hester as extras The bold players are 6'3 and above so this will give us a few mismatches on the outside and in the red zone. So do you consider this group a strength or weakness

He's likely to be fired at the end of the year. Mel Tucker is awful and should be fired the minute the season is over, although I am not very confident Trestman will see things the same way.. Lets assume Tucker is gone and Ryan is fired. Should the Bears try to get him as the new DC? I don't know if his personality meshes well with Trestman's but there's no question that Rex knows how to coach defense. Just a thought..

OK, now I can relax for the rest of the playoffs.

Sounds like Jay Cutler suffered his 1st concussion when Greg Olsen whiffed on a block and Cutler got killed and fumbled the football. At least that is what all of the Chicago radio media seem to be reporting. Olsen had one of the worse games I've ever seen. He gave up a few sacks on his own, stopped running on multiple passes (2 of which led to picks). They were poor passes regardless, but at least one of them wouldn't have resulted in a pick had he not quit on the route.
