After two games, I am trying to figure out what the role of Sims is and why we paid so much for him. He has 2 receptions (the same as White on IR and Gentry who was released), and none vs TB (though one INT was targeting him). I thought he would have an expanded role with how much they paid him, but after two games, that doesn't seem the case. If he is just a blocking TE, we overpaid severely. He is on pace for 16 receptions and 176 yards for the year ($333k per reception).

Don't shoot the messenger. http://bearswire.usatoday.com/2017/09/20/s...hrough-2-weeks/ Interesting that Whitehair, Sitton, and Massie are well below average. Having said all that, it is PFF, so The team needs Long on the field. And the offense desperately needs two tackles. I'd be willing to be Leno isn't much above the others.

Much focus is put on the Glennon show but there were a couple good things in the Tampa game. Eddie Jackson...still a rookie and still learning but he looks like a long term starter for us. On more than one occasion he ended up arriving at the WR with the ball. Given our CBs were Cooper and Fuller I was worried about DeSean Jackson having a big day. That didn't happen and I think Jackson was a big part of that. He made a great TFL in the 2nd half. Overall he finished as our leading tackler. Kyle Fuller... through two games against two very good offenses Fuller has been good. Not great but good, and I'm one who wanted him off the team. He's been good en…

Short and simple, the Cubs sucked but made moves that secured a future. Should the Bears just accept sucking for another year, maybe even tank? There are countless articles about how Epstein built the Cubs. I like this one a good bit: http://www.bleachernation.com/2014/02/19/b...sting-the-plan/ Having said that, maybe that's the plan all along? The Glennon 1-year deal fits. The build up to next year's mega-QB class fits. If the Bears get a top 2-3 pick, that's going to bring a windfall of action. They'll likely get way more back than they gave up this year to get Trubisky. Use a sharpie to pencil in Trubisky as the starter in '18, stack the team with fr…

Obviously we are not contending for anything this year and in general, I am a believer in keeping draft picks (if not acquiring more picks), but given how thin we are at the wide receiver position, should the Bears be actively looking at trading for someone who can be a long-term piece (vs. waiting until free agency/draft). Most of me stands in the, go with what we have camp (even if it is the worst corps in the league), however, another part of me says that if we are going to turn this over to Trubisky, we do want to put him in a position to succeed, and with the absolute lack of talent, are we actually stunting his growth by having such an incompetent corps out there? …

Similar injury as what Freeman was lost for the year on. Brutal since they were are two starters...2 weeks into the season and the injuries really piling up (2nd consecutive year). Football is such a brutal sport.

Anyone got any feedback on our next opponent? I scanned their depth chart and it appears Jacquizz Rodgers is their starting RB splitting time with Charles Sims. Quite a bit less of threat than Atlanta ran at us. They do have a good QB and WRs in Evans and Desean Jackson on the outside plus OJ Howard at TE. I think Fangio needs to flip the script from last week where the focus was on shutting down the run and we should get after the QB. Maybe we'll see more of Bullard and RRH this week? Their defense has some good players but other than Gerald McCoy I don't see any big pass rush threats. That's a consistent complaint among their fans on the message boards too.…

It would be our luck that this guy turns into a Slot WR guru in NE where he never caught a pass for us in a regular season. http://patriotswire.usatoday.com/2017/09/1...-slot-receiver/

Jay looked pretty good, amazing to see such a mobile QB able to move around the pocket or roll-out and give himself time to make plays downfield. To think how much better he will be once he learns the offense. I would not be surprised if Miami keeps Cutler and ditches Tannehill eventually. He had a couple of crazy throws but the defense had to respect the pass, allowing Ajayi to rack up yards on the ground.

Jeremy Langford was released by Baltimore today. That didn't last long. Since Howard has a shoulder injury and Cunningham a knee, should the Bears reach back out to Langford? Can a free agent be signed to the practice squad or does he have to be on the active roster? He knows the offense and if Howard shoulder doesn't improve, Langford can step in and be at least better as a receiver. If we can sign him to the PS, I am for it.

Alford is the new signee at WR. Not a big guy but has speed. I think they will throw him on the outside and let him run to loosen up the tight d on the run game and underneath wr routes

I have stated many times that I think the Bears will be much better than people expect. The lose of Meredith hurts quit a bite but I still the possibility of them upsetting ATL. They will stunt the Falcons running game and apply pressure on Ryan in the passing game. On offense they will power run, using up the clock with much two TE sets, just enough offense to score 20- 23 points. The key will be to have a TO advantage during the game. I say 23 -17 and Cohen scores the winning TD.

Beautiful day down by the lakefront. Here is what I saw: - A lot more Falcons fans than should have been and some empty seats which you usually don't see for the first game. - Way too many short passes from Glennon. If this trend continues, Tarik Cohen will be a dead man. - Speaking of Cohen, he is the real deal. However good he looked on TV, he looked even better in person. - Loved seeing the fullback rush for a first down. Great play call. - Defense played well except for the two busted TE completions. Hicks earned his paycheck today. - If Glennon can't play much better than this, then they need to switch to Trubisky soon. I give him credit for t…
