I'm 46 , so I grew up with Soundgarden from 1989 until today. They were my favorite band. It's a sad day for rock. I listened to many a Soundgarden song after watching Bears games...either to feel the joy or the anguish.

Here is an interesting article suggesting what the Bears do this year. What I find interesting is they have Floyd doing 14 and 1/2 sacks. Glennon has a good year. Howard is a stud. Cohen adds some offense. Meridith has a good year but I think White has more of an impact than they suggest. With the added pass rush we will have more ints that they suggest. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2709581...leaders-in-2017

When praising or criticizing Pace we need to look at his plan. In the first two years, he took position players and did not draft a QB. He tried to trade up for Mariota and last year to go up and get Wentz. I would have to say both of those should turn out to be good QBs. So I think he can identify a QB when he sees one. In the three year of a rebuild , he need to get a QB to push forward with the progress, so he addressed with an urgency. I would say he identified Tribusky as his guy early but there was no guarantee he would be there at three. So he went out and grabbed the best QB available in FA.He did think in spite of getting a chance to draft Tribusky , be…

The 13 undrafted free agents who will participate in the minicamp are Northern Illinois running back Joel Bouagnon, Old Dominion defensive lineman Rashaad Coward, Minnesota linebacker Hendrick Ekpe, Wyoming receiver Tanner Gentry, Ball State tight end Franko House, San Jose State linebacker Isaiah Irving, Florida International offensive lineman Dieugot Joseph, James Madison offensive lineman Mitch Kirsch, Utah kicker Andy Phillips, Coastal Carolina linebacker Alex Scearce, Oklahoma State receiver Jhajuan Seales, Florida State fullback Freddie Stevenson and Florida State receiver Levonte Whitfield. Gentry,Stevenson, Seales and Whitfieldare my favorites to make the team.

With his first practice out of the way we can now settle down for the long haul with Trubisky. Of note from Moon Mullin are these comments from some scouts around the league: ---------------------------- http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-bears/ju...-mitch-trubisky Two AFC scouts revealed that they had the highest grade on Trubisky that they’d had on any quarterback over the past six years. That means: higher than Jameis Winston; higher than Marcus Mariota; higher than Cam Newton; higher than Russell Wilson; higher than Andrew Luck; higher than Derek Carr; higher than Carson Wentz. The evaluation of one NFC regional scouting team was that “Trubisky is …

The last ten super bowl winning QBs with their TD/INTs: 2016 - Brady (28/2) 2015 - P.Manning (9/17) 2014 - Brady (33/9) 2013 - Wilson (26/9) 2012 - Flacco (22/10) 2011 - E.Manning (29/16) 2010 - Rodgers (28/11) 2009 - Brees (34/11) 2008 - Roethlisberger (17/15) 2007 - E.Manning (23/20) When searching for a "franchise" QB, I think you're trying to find that guy who can put up nearly 4000 yards every year and keep turnovers down to a minimum. It needs to be a guy who outright carries the team for most of the season, in my opinion. A QB that everyone says, "Oh shit, we're playing against..." Out of the QBs above, which were the main reaso…

No real surprises here. Sutton was never a fit in the 3-4, Edison is obsolete with Grasu & Boggs, and Royal couldn't get on the field. Lasike is a little interesting considering he was the only FB on the roster and now that title belongs to undrafted rookie Freddie Stevenson, who hasn't even stepped on the practice field yet. Also saw that Victor Cruz is scheduled to visit the Bears on Monday. Not sure what he has left in the tank.

  13. my thoughts are this... we decided as a franchise this was the time to go for that franchise qb. we had the draft slot this year to do so. waiting for another year guarantees nothing. we could pick in the middle of the draft. the qb class next year is uncertain. even if there is a can't miss qb 'ready to start' how in the world would we be able to move up to get him? in all likelyhood he would go #1 without a trade option. that leaves us looking at a qb of much lower ratings and having to trade up to get him anyway. by picking trubinsky we got the best qb prospect in the draft this year with real potential to be a star in chicago. we also have the luxery of not…

  15. Sports Illustrated: The Bears did not draft a receiver, and their depth chart at the position is a hodgepodge of options—Cameron Meredith, undrafted in 2015, actually led the team in receiving last year. There is an opportunity, then, for Gentry, a 6' 1", 200-pounder with sticky hands. He produced 1,300-plus yards and 14 TDs last season. PFF: Following the draft, the Bears signed former Wyoming WR Tanner Gentry as an undrafted free agent. In 2016, he graded as the 13th-best WR in the class (minimum 600 snaps). Gentry was the most active deep threat in college football last year. He had 49 deep passing targets (3.5 targets per game) and caught 22 of them, both top…

It's early, but with the recent additions, I wanted to get opinions on where you think our roster shakes out. Some positions seem pretty clear, others not so much. I have to say in looking at the initial 53-man roster last year, I couldn't believe some of the names. Greg Scruggs? Amini Silotolu? Were they really on the team? QB: Glennon, Sanchez, Trubisky Trubisky probably doesn't dress for the first few games at least. Bears will probably try to keep Shaw on the practice squad. RB: Howard, Langford, Cohen I like Cunningham, but he and Cohen are pretty duplicative, especially if Cohen can return kicks. I do think there's an outside chance the Bears keep…

I'm actually very surprised to see him in this role. Both because I never thought he'd want to be there and because I never thought a broadcaster would want him there. It will be interesting to hear his analysis. "What you're really looking for here is the guy who is in blanket coverage between the FS and CB." http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/former-...oins-the-media/
