2 questions: If you were starting a team and you could only take 2 players off the Bears (no other teams), who would they be? Can be 1 offense, 1 defense, 2 defense, or 2 offense. If you could add any 2 current players to the current Bears roster, who would they be? Can be 1 offense, 1 defense, 2 defense, or 2 offense. Mine would be: 1. Forte and Briggs 2. Logan Mankins (OG, New England, 26 years old) and Troy Polamalu (S, Steelers, 27 years old).

BEARS REACH DEALS WITH THREE ROOKIES Posted by Michael David Smith on July 1, 2008, 1:42 p.m. The Bears announced today that they have signed one of their draft picks and come to contract agreements with two others. Defensive tackle Marcus Harrison, a third-round pick out of Arkansas, signed a four-year contract. Harrison is a big talent with two big question marks: He suffered a torn ACL in the spring of 2007 and was arrested in August and accused of having an ecstasy pill and marijuana in his vehicle. If Harrison stays healthy and stays out of trouble, the Bears got a steal. If not, GM Jerry Angelo will have to answer why he used a third-round pick on a guy wi…

--well the line looks a little better, but that aint saying much --I get that its a practice game so I wont jump all over martz' ass cause he might want to get a look at things on film, but if he is still calling a 2 to 1 pass to run ratio when the season starts, he needs to be held accountable. --The defense looks like they have no energy. The outside linebackers have not held leverage all night and look like crap. --They should just shoot chester taylor now. -- Roy Williams is a joke. I hate that guy already. What an insult to the rest of the team, come in out of shape and drops the damn ball. --WTF is up with the special teams. The c…

I have always liked him. I wanted him when I saw he was available, and was thrilled to get him. I honestly never felt he got a fair shake, as I thought he earned his playing time, but was held back as he wasn't the ideal fit for Lovie's scheme. But due to injuries, he got his playing time and kept it. IMHO, he has been our most consistent DT, and maybe most consistent DL overall. He doesn't make the big plays others do, but seems to get solid push everydown, and is maybe the biggest reason our defense began to improve against the run after Dusty went down and Adams stepped in. Anyway, there is a pretty good piece on him, from him, in the Trib, http://blogs.…

I was looking over our roster thinking about our starting lineup for this season and was surprised to see we really have just two battles for starting roles in training camp. I see our starters as: (names in caps have to battle) S: Conte, Wright (settled) I think there is a lot of competition for the spots behind these guys but can't see anyone pushing for a starting job, however the depth may be decent in terms of talent (Zib, Steltz, Hardin). CB: Tillman, Jennings Hayden is first off the bench here and behind him I can't believe we're looking at Zach Bowman again. LB: Anderson, Williams, Briggs. (settled --- however, Bostic might cha…

I was watching the game last night and right after Blank said Vick might be able to return if he doesnt eat too much fried chicken one of my friends called me and we were curious if it was gonna be brought up today as an issue. Sure enough, theyve been talking about all day. I personally dont think it was meant to be a racial comment but with a subject as touchy as Vick it doesnt surprise me it was brought up.

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/1016781,harris062008.stng Harris: 'Classy' talks led to deal June 20, 2008 FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Tommie Harris says the talks that led to his four-year, $40 million contract with the Chicago Bears were businesslike and ''classy.'' Speaking at a morning news conference at Halas Hall, the defensive tackle said he and Bears management kept negotiations private in reaching a deal that will keep him with Chicago through 2012. That differs from what has happened between the team and linebackers Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs. They've both gone public with complain…

One thing I haven't really seen mentioned is Tennessee cornerback Cortland Finnegan. This is a guy who has a bit of a rep as being an ass. I think his own teamates (including team leader Bulluck) has even gotten into fights w/ him. Anyway, front the get-go, Finnegan was in our players faces, pushing shoving, late hitting, etc. I saw very little from our guys. I realize the 2nd guy draws the flag, and some (maybe much) of his antics are likely intended to get into the minds of our players, but still. At some point, when a guy is simply pushing you around, do you not have to do something? Yea, we had a couple guys here and there push back, but in a game like fo…

Urlacher's contract is up at the end of the 2011 season, and we all know with how his back problems are still there despite what he says, we can almost guarantee he retires after that season. Now the question: Will the Bears win a Super Bowl with Urlacher? Explain your reasoning, and give some predictions on who'll lead us in some statistical categories in the year you think they'll win, like tackles, rushing yards, receiving yards, TD's thrown, etc.

http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...ne-options.html Tice doesn't want to leave the impression that the only competition will be at left guard. He knows where Kreutz and left tackle Chris Williams will be. The rest is to be determined. He likes Garza at right guard and he likes Frank Omiyale at right tackle. That doesn't mean a starting lineup is 80 percent set. "Not to give up too much information, I see Beekman and Johan battling and I also see other battles going," Tice said. "You can read between the lines. You never know, some other guys could move. I'm willing to have the best five guys on the field, I don't care what their names are. I am not part…

About me though, not the Bears. Some here wanted me to keep them updated, and as a collective group of bear fans who supported me throughout this process, I wanted to share the good news with everyone. As a lot of you probably already know, I was an aspiring D-I football player but wasnt recruited out of high school. I then went onto a Junior College and had a successful freshman season. Well, my hard work paid off and on wednesday I signed with Northern Illinois to play football. I just wanted to share the good news with you guys cause you've supported me throughout this whole process and did nothing but wish me the best of luck. Unfortunately, while my activity on …

As per PFT, Housh signed with Seattle for 5 years, 40 million, with 15 guaranteed. Not to far off from Berrian's 6 year, 43.5 million deal with 16 guaranteed. Nate Washington signed with Tennessee, but I haven't seen the numbers. Hopefully, he cost a lot since I'll be pissed if they got him for a "reasonable" amount. Those two guys were considered the top two UFA available (not counting Marvin Harrison). It doesn't surprise me we went after them, since I think we really want to give Hester, Bennett, and Olsen a continued chance to develop. I include Olsen in that group, since he plays the WR spot at times, and we'll look to focus on him more and more in ou…

Rod Hood In High Demand Posted by Mike Florio on May 20, 2009, 1:20 p.m. The Cardinals surprisingly released cornerback Rod Hood in the days after the draft. Hood’s base salary, coupled with his potential unwillingness to accept a reserve role, contributed to his ouster in Arizona. And he has since become a hot commodity. We’re told that he has received a contract offer from the Rams, and that he’ll next be visiting the Bears. Other teams in the mix include the Lions and Browns. The Bengals are out of the picture. Hood has a connection to Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo; they both previously were in Philly together.

It has the Bears taking WR Michael Floyd. That'd be good with me. Interestingly, it also has Mohamed Sanu going before Alshon Jeffrey.

http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=201295&src=148 His base salary of $360,000 last season was the league minimum, as is the $445,000 base he's scheduled to make this season. But for now, he's willing to be patient. "It's tough, but I did sign a contract, so I'm obligated to come out here," he said. "I'd be reneging if I didn't show up, but at the same time it's very frustrating. I do want to get paid. But I'm not going to sit here and complain about not getting paid enough. I'm going to come out here and play ball."
