With the 49ers new DC having mostly a 4-3 background it would seem that's the direction they are going. Fans on one message board are not too enamored with Arik Armstead and if they switch to a 4-3 most speculate he'll end up at LDE. Not an ideal fit for his skills. If nothing else most seem to want a top tier FA DT brought in which would move AA to a backup role, or kick him outside to LDE. All of which makes it possible to see AA on the trade block. 8th game this season that has gone down to the last minute. QB: Off day for Cutler. I'm not one to blame him for the INT as those are not even "read" plays you just have to trust the WRs execute correctly. I don't think we called that play again the rest of the game. Beyond that he was inaccurate on deep throws and generally didn't seem comfortable reading the defense. Maybe that's because nobody could get open. Regardless not his best week. Just curious on your thoughts about Lovie's continous effort to go for it, and fail, on 4th & goal from the 1. I'm in the middle. They were down by 3 at the end of the 3rd and should've taken the points and tied it. They didn't and while the throw wasn't great, it was a ball Clark has to catch. Against the Lions they had 4 plays to get 20 inches and couldn't. Again I take the points but Lovie trusts his team can get such a short gain in 4 plays. On top of this, Forte needs to get his pads lower at the goal line. He's running too upright and is down at first contact by a player.

JJ Stankevitz did a good job breaking down our 4th quarter TD drive. I didn't even realize we never had a 3rd down on that drive. With that, a few of these guys should be available with the 7th pick in the round. If they are not sold on Petty or Hundley, I would go Smith/Shaw/Ekpre and pray for Ryan in the 5th. So it would either be CB-LB-S or S-LB-Other in the last 3 rounds.

Of course, there's never any telling with JA and company, but as I see it, the Bears are most likely to go DT, CB, or OL. In total the ‘23 draft yielded 3 WR in DJ Moore, Chase Claypool, and Tyler Scott. Collectively that’s a pretty good haul for a single draft. I definitely believe Scott was best available when we took him. He hedges things a bit with resigning Mooney and to a lesser extent Claypool. With Scott on board it brought to mind a question about how would a team defend a 5 WR set. I include Velus in this not ESB because he is the better runner.
