At this point, are we already just looking forward to the draft? Bears making stupid penalties, but get bailed out with an EZ interception. That's nice to see. And the OL is giving Hoyer a decent amount of time thus far. Of course, they're still running that "never ran it with Cutler"-offense, which adds a little something to it. Can't say I remember more than one or two naked bootlegs the entire time Cutler has been under center. Now with Hoyer? Once a drive. Go figure.

So I assume everyone has seen Bennett talk crap (again) about Cutler and the Bears, but it seems that Alshon responded: Nice to see someone step up since he literally called everyone bitches. http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-bears/al...hen-he-was-here

I don't care if the Colts suck on defense. Howard is the real deal. Strong runner, great vision, good cut-back ability, forward lean, fast enough to get to the second level and exploit a hole for big gain, solid pass-catcher out of the backfield. I really like this kid.

He's our best DB and it's always noticeable whenever he's not on the field. If he can play this week it will be a nice boost to our defense especially with some more question marks at the outside corners.

I know there is a lot of angst about PFF and there is valid debate about their scoring system. Nonetheless, to be listed among top 10 players in the entire league for Week 5 is a really good sign for our rookie center. Did anyone expect to see Whitehair on a list that has players such as Von Miller, Tom Brady, and ex-Bear Mason Foster? https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-top-10...-week-5-action/

It is real early, but I feel this is a terrible year to have the top draft slot. I haven't got a feel on any of the QBs yet and Watson continues to be the big name...yet I hesitate. Offensive lineman, same feeling. The top pick I think will produce is Jabril Peppers DB Michigan. Bears n Cutler need to rebound quick otherwise it may be hell for many more years. Any thoughts of owning the first pick?

For those of you who wanted a change at kicker. Two attempts missed in the 3rd quarter - make either and we are kicking for a tie at the end. Peace

So I know this is basically semantics nowadays and we are in sub-packages that take this away 60% of the time, but do you think we have the personnel to play the 3-4 more effectively than the 4-3? I can't tell if it is scheme, personnel, or the injuries, but we never have a consistent pass rush. Yeah we have had a few sacks, but it seems like we rarely have pressure outside of those plays that look more like coverage sacks. What do you think? Stick with Fangio and the 3-4 next year, or go back to a traditional set?

Based on Fox's comments last week, if Hoyer played well this week, he would keep the starting job. It will be interesting to see if they keep Cutler in street clothes. I am kind of torn on this. Do you play Cutler due to salary (and possibly as an audition), or do you play Hoyer with the intent to keep him as a bridging strategy going forward? Cutler is the oldest player on the roster now with Gould gone. Our Firesale would be a clown car on fire.... Who do we have that someone else would want? Young ($4.1mil)? Porter($4mil)? Miller($2.5mil)?

Go Bears? I hate these kind of seasons, I don't see us doing anything realistic but also hate to see us lose. We have winnable games the next two weeks, and could go into GB at 3-3. The injury report is hilarious (in a bad way): http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/chi/injuries I think we need some better/new strength and conditioning coaches and need to change our offseason regime. Too many injuries year in and year out to be chance. I would like to see Howard continue to play well and some of the other young players step up and make plays with the opportunities they have. My guess is if Hoyer plays well and we win, that he will continue to be the starti…

Was watching a replay of a recent broadcast from CSN Chicago(?) where a panel (to include Arkush) were discussing some Bears news. Mostly it was about whether the Bears would win this weekend against the Colts. Anyhow a couple comments from Arkush caught my interest. I'm not as familiar with him as some of you are and was curious about what you know of him. Anyhow the first comment he made was that no team should ever 'tank' a game just to do better in the draft. (Something I'd agree with wholeheartedly). He went on to say that "no team in the NFL would ever do that." And that doing so is a "disease". The second comment was a bit more intriguing. He said h…
