So this article lists the top ten teams that didn't make the playoffs that have a good chance at the playoffs next year. If the Bears want to turn the corner, they need to start a path and go with it. Without a QB they are only making circles. They should hire Mike McCoy to be the OC if he does get fired, re-sign AJ long term and draft offense. On Defense, they have some pieces and are respectable but can use a DE, CB, and S to take that step into top 10 talk. Sign the top dogs as a year or two patch like Calais Campbell DE, Eric Berry FS, and Trumaine Johnson CB. If there is still money, maybe make a run at Mevin Engram OLB also. Watched his bowl game today and came away impressed. He's not ready to start any NFL games, but has the mental and physical traits I like to see. As far as his demeanor goes, he's the anti Cutler. I would love to see him in a Bears uni.

Everyone seems to at least think a trade down would work well for the Bears. Most think the QB class is weak, and most think the guys we really want/need are better suited later than the third pick. So, is there any team that would be willing to move up to the #3 pick and not mortgage their entire future? Is there a team that has the picks/players to pull it off? Because of strength-of-schedule tiebreakers, the Bears will pick behind the 49ers (2-11) and Browns (1-13). With one week left in the season, the Bears can't move any higher on the draft board. With a win next week over the Vikings, they could drop as low as No. 6 depending on what the Jaguars, Jets and Rams do and how their respective schedule strengths sort out. Peace

I can think of only one scenario. Everson Griffen of the Queens made it as DE with the following stat line: 14G, 44 Tackles, 33 Solo, 11 Assists, 8 Sacks, 1PD, 2FF Akiem Hicks, on the other hand, has the following: 13G, 46 Tackles, 30 Solo, 16 Assists, 7 Sacks, 2PD, 2FF Almost identical stats, and Akiem has played one less game. That's cool though. I hope it pisses him off and makes him hungrier.
