I'm not surprised to see DJ Williams on IR. His career is over. I applaud the move to sign a FB. I like having a FB on the roster and I think it helped our running game last year. It's a bit late but at least indicates we are looking at this for next season. http://chicagosuntimes.com/sports/bears-li...njured-reserve/

So we have hired a new DL coach. Hes apparently had success with DLs everywhere hes gone. He teaches an attacking style, and was Jacksonville's DL coach last year, where he coached Travon Walker to a career high 10.5 sacks. Jacksonville's DC Ryan Neilson, was Dennis Allen's DL coach at New Orleans. I like pairing him with 69 year old Bill Johnson who is a defensive assistant, and was also a DL coach under Dennis Allen in New Orleans.

Walterfootball just released the combine measurements for the DL prospects so I figured I'd highlight some of the guys we've talked about. Jadaveon Clowney- 6-5 266 34 1/2 inch arms- I put him up there as sort of a measuring stick. Kony Ealy- 6-4 273 34 1/4- Pretty much right there with Clowney Kareem Martin- 6-6 272 35- The knock on this guy is his speed, he's projected to run a 4.9 while Ealy is expected to be in the 4.7 range. If he beats those projections he could work his way into 1st round consideration Dee Ford- 6-2 252 32 7/8- Short with short arms, further adding to my thought that he's not a 4-3 DE and the Bears won't draft him. Jackson…

It is supposed to look that way. Having a couple of the defensive linemen in a cocked position -- usually the interior linemen -- is just one of the minor tweaks assistant head coach Rod Marinelli has implemented since taking over the defensive line." ************************************************************************** Maybe I was drinking too much during the games but I don't recall our DTs lining up this way during the preseason, at least not routinely. If I'm wrong so…

  14. First. Series and webb is doing the same shit he has done the first two and all last season... tells me their evaluation of talent is pathetic!!! Bench spencer and leave in ol concrete shoes webb??? Hopefully culter lands a haymaker this game because webb will get him hurt and the coaches do nothing about it! Mike tice I have lost any faith in your coaching!!! Phil if you were smart and you value your job you will clean house after the year your coaches are horrible and you just inherited them doesn't mean you need to stick with them!

OK, so I saw a graphic about this and had to look into it. Apparently, since 2000, there has only been a single Super Bowl victory that had a top 10 WR on the roster who was drafted by the team he played for in the Super Bowl. That is Mike Evans. There have been 33 picks in the top 10 used for a WR since 2000. It is ugly. Here are those 33 WRs, sorted by # of career receptions: 1 Larry Fitzgerald - Super Bowl loss (Kurt Warner) 2 Andre Johnson 3 Julio Jones - Super Bowl loss (28-3 thanks Shanny) 4 Mike Evans - Super Bowl win (Tom Brady) 5 Calvin Johnson 6 A.J. Green 7 Amari Cooper 8 Michael Crabtree 9 …

  17. What do you guys think and what would you do? On the plus side, he's a dumbass who has really been lazy the past couple years. Yes, he's played through an "injury", but he has skipped treatments in the past and just doesn't seam to get it. We'd also save money by cutting him as he's in a series of one year deals so there wouldn't be any cap rammifications, other than saving a few mill in current payroll (which could help the Bears cover the costs of firing Lovie and hiring someone else!!) On the down-side, they claim he's actually healthy and our two worse 1st halves of the Lovie era came with him on the sidelines. Maybe he is more valuable than we think an…

from the trib Hester story Defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek (bruised hand) didn't practice and Harris (knee) was limited Friday. Anthony Adams and Israel Idonije received the first-team reps as the interior linemen. Linebacker Jamar Williams is nursing a tender ankle. … Kyle Orton started the day running the first-team offense, although Rex Grossman got a lot of work too. Man I getting tired of DD and JW on the sidelines, If harrison pans out I see DD going bye bye,

Feed up with dumb defense play. Either get a real defensive coordinator or lovie should take over full time. I have this feeling that nobody is taking personal ownership of the defense.
