http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...ent-team/1.html Inside linebacker Brian Urlacher, Bears -- His reputation says he's one of the most dominating defensive players in the game. But reality says Urlacher just had a season in which he made almost no big plays for a Bears defense that has slid a long way from its 2006 hey day. Urlacher had no sacks, no forced fumbles and just two interceptions this season. That's almost hard to do when you start and play all 16 games in the middle of a defense.

PFF came out with there projects of OLines and have us ranked 5th. PFF is just one of many ways to look at NFL players but if we just do the eye test, we have a top10 Oline. This helps our offense become more consistent. Howard will be one of the top 5 RBs in the league this year. The short passing game will be stellar with many TE prospects, Cohen out of the backfield, and Wright or Cruz out of the slot. Glennon is a accurate passer when given time making our down field threats viable. Wheaton, White, and Meridith. All …

The NFL and media have fallen in love with the passing game in recent years but this year the playoffs are proving that you can still win by running the ball. The Titans have taken down the Patriots and Ravens behind a middling QB, a strong running game/Oline, and a strong defense. We have two of those pieces. FWIW the Ravens got to the 1 seed by running. We all know we need the Oline fixed but we also must find a good RB to compliment Montgomery. A RB with some speed. Then we need someone to call the running plays.

Devin Hester has at least one reception in 48 straight games, the 4th longest streak in #Bears history (Booker-60, Engram-57, Ditka-49).

All I can say is... it's about time. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colum...117-column.html Fifteen extra minutes in the cold tub Monday morning. Maybe 20. Slowly get in and let that ice water crawl up to your neck. Just try to find some relief for a beaten-down, worn-out body. The day before? Man, downhill collisions in the hole that felt like a train wreck. That was my experience in the NFL the morning after playing John Fox's Panthers teams. I'm talking about old school stuff when you lined up versus those squads. Put on your big boy pads and get ready to hit. You were in for a fight.

Honestly. No mini-Ditka talk. Do the Bears even get close to 20 points? If the Bears manage ten offensive points in total, I'll be surprised. It's up to the D and the ST to get this win, because I don't see Collins producing it.

Glad to see that Emery is continuing his predecessor's habit of signing draft picks early. It's reported on the Official Chicago Bears page on facebook: "The Bears have agreed to terms on a 4-year contract with 1st round pick Shea McClellin. Hit 'LIKE' if you're happy that Shea is officially a Bear!"

How do the patriots get a player and a second rd pick for chandler Jones when he , like Bennett, also is in the last yr of his contract, but yet here we are trying to trade a top 5 te and there's rumors that we may end up releasing him!?!?! That's bullshit... if you can't find a trade partner keep his ass until you do... and we sure as hell better not get hosed with a day two pick... I am so irritated now!! I mean seriously its chandler f#ckin Jones.. and he got a second rd pick and a player in return!!!! Wtf! Why do we always get hosed when we trade our good players... a 5th and a bottle of ky jelly and a corncobb for Brandon Marshall... is all we got... this shit need…

http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/professor/...-of-nbc-is.html Bears bunker mentality nothing new; snub of NBC is .Brad Palmer on 11.19.09 | 1 comment | .The Bears have long had a bunker mentality at Halas Hall. It is born out of arrogance and insecurity, bordering on paranoia and can be traced to Michael McCaskey (the man behind the curtain) and Jerry Angelo. A decade or so ago, I was doing a live-shot for Channel 7 in the comfort of one of the Bears meeting rooms at the original Halas Hall, having been given permission by the public relations director because of a snowstorm. McCaskey happened by and said I should be outside, snowstorm or not. …

MN offensive game plan was terrible. I love that they did NOT run AP like years past. Every time they ran a set were Teddy was under center they ran a play action pass. They pretty much ran AP out of the shotgun. I think that is crazy stupid. If they continue this it should help when the Bears play them. Im sure AP will get more comfortable in the shotgun but he is very dangerous when he gets going and has room to cut, out the shotgun he did not have very much run to get going. I have AP in my FF and clearly I hated this, but the Bears winning is way more important! lol

How will this roster shake out once regular season starts? We know what we have in Matt Forte. I expect him to perform as usual and possibly beyond being a contract year. Do the Bears extend him going forward? Do they use his money to extend another player on a contract year like Mason Foster or Shea McClellin if one of those two becomes the leader in the middle? Many questions arise with the RB because behind Matt is completely unknown. Jeremy Langford is a given to survive this season as a Bear, being this regimes draft pick. He has a similiar skill set to Forte, but an extra gear of speed. The problem is, can he bring that into the NFL? I expect some growing p…

The more I look at this draft, and working under the assumption at the moment that the Bears don't move Olsen for a 2nd, I feel like the best value pick when the Bears pick might very well be at CB. Guard is a need, but they tend to fall anyway, so unless you fall in love with someone like Jon Asomoah (and he's available there), you might be able to wait a round or two and get Mike Johnson or Brandon Carter or someone like that. The best pure free safeties (Morgan Burnett, Nate Allen) will probably be gone, so I'd rather not reach for Major Wright when you can probably wait and get Robert Johnson or Kendrick Lewis or Darrell Stuckey. But the CB crop is loaded this ye…

With Martz making adujstments on the offense with a balanced attack, I believe he will be offered a head coaching job somehwere in the league. So to this board I pose the following two questions: 1. Where will he go coach? 2. Who will replace him as Bears OC?
