Bears | Angelo meets with K. Smith Fri, 11 Apr 2008 15:41:09 -0700 Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo recently met with Central Florida RB Kevin Smith.

Metcalf has knee problem Vaughn McClure, 12:22 p.m. Terrence Metcalf emerged from the dining room with a sleeve protecting his right knee. The left guard said he had the knee drained Friday after it swelled, and he's not sure how the injury occurred. "It's no big thing," he said. He expects to play in Thursday's exhibition against the Chiefs. And he expects to start if he does play. "Heck yeah, I'll be running with the first team," he said. Metcalf has yet to be cleared for Monday night's practice. Josh Beekman has been working at left guard in his place.

Since it was reported that the Bears are out of the race for the high priced Rolle who should we go after either Atogwe from the Rams, Clark from the Steelers or even Sharper from the Saints. Who would you pick for the upgrade?

Cant say im too happy about that

I think the Bears front office needs to look long and hard at yesterday's film and think about next year. Sure, injuries killed the Bears, but the players in the game were pretty bad. That got me to thinking about a fix... What players could be traded, and what would the Bears get in return? I'd love to see multiple trades to stock up on draft picks so the Bears can try to get a playmaking DE and Safety in this year's draft. Does anyone have a good idea about who could be traded and what the Bears could get? Realistically?

About halfway through the game I commented to my son how much white space Nagy had on his play sheet. And he did have just a single sheet with plays on both sides. In contrast McCarthy was walking around with at least 2 sheets, maybe 3, and they were full on both sides. I expect that white space gets filled in more and more each week. Obviously there's a difference in QBs but in the end what we saw was one team learning a new offense and another where their QB has been doing the same thing for 14 years. No one has mentioned it on here so I thought I would bring it up. Eddie Royal commented after signing with the Bears that Cutler recruited him to come to the Bears. One example of him being a leader, Derrick Rose has refused to recruit which I think is stupid. He also said something along the lines that Cutler was a good leader in Denver. Christian Jones said something along the lines that Kyle Long and Jay Cutler were the two guys that first came to him after signing with the Bears as an undrafted free agent. I cant remember exactly what he said but it had something to do with him being a leader. I know Cutler does not have the body language…

I don't have a lot to do at work today, so I'm running tons of mocks. The more and more I see them, the less and less I think a quality CB will be available after the 3rd round. Since there is virtually no way we go OL in RD1, that makes me think the value of CB is in the 2nd and 3rd. Multiple QBs with promise can be had in the mid-rounds, same goes for OL, S, and WR. But I just don't see it at CB. Is there a CB you like a lot that could warrant a mid-round pick that we'd like? There's only one I like, and it's Kevin King from Washington. I'm not quite sure why he's falling. Any good value out there?
