Hard game to pick, I don't like either team but my logical side wants to pick Seattle 24-20, but my gut is telling me NE 27-17. What do you think? Also, with the news about the Lynch extension, do you think Seattle can extend Lynch, make Wilson the highest paid QB, extend and give a raise to Wagner, and somehow resign Maxwell? To me Maxwell seems like the odd one out.

read this somewhere and gives some info on Fangio and how it fits. Call it what you will but Fangio's defense is not a straightforward vanilla 3-4. His NT still plays a one gap shade position which actually does fit a guy like Stephen Paea and they can also use Ratliff in that.e role. Fangio plays his other DT as a 3 tech similar to a one gap 4-3 so Sutton is not a waste and Paea and Ratliff can also play that position. If Houston recovers from his injury and starts playing heads up ball again if he can add back 10-15 lbs he can play the RDE spot Justin Smith plays in SF which is where Houston played in Oakland and possibly rotate with Jared Allen there provided Alle…

When Cutler's status this year is debated, it's often the bird in the hand argument that is brought up. Who are you going to get to replace him? The answer is not a simple answer. There are no exceptional older veterans floating around this year. The draft is always a big question mark no matter how great the prospect. A large majority want to see defense, defense, defense, and maybe some O-Line in the draft. That's completely understandable, as this team has holes. But I think of Cutler as addition by subtraction. Cutting Cutler brings a hefty price tag this year, a $19.5 million dollar price tag to be exact. That is a scary number when you see it. So let's keep him…

    1. Shane Ray DE/OLB Seeing Aldon Smith flourish in Fangio's D makes him a favoritefor this pick 2.Denzel Perryman ILB This could be the leader we need on defense. 3.Jamison Crowder WR/KR Grew tired of seeing the kneel down or the tackle before the 20 on kickoffs 4.Donovan Smith OT We need to have some young OL in place for future 6. Anthony Jefferson SS Lets try again! 7 Tyler Heincke QB This may be a fantasy. His height not ideal but he needs a good showing at the combine to be drafted.

The best way to try and gauge how Pace will draft is to see how the Saints drafted while he was there and how both Denver and SF drafted with Fox as well as Fangio in SF some stats. NO with Pace(since he is drafting for whole team) I did 10 years of overall positions QB 2 RB 3 FB 1 WR 9 TE1(Jimmy Graham) OT 7 OG 4 C 1 DE 5 DT 5 LB 9 S 6 CB 8 K 1 P 1 SF with Fangio as DC I'm doing defensive draft picks only to see how they fed his defense. DT 1 DE 3 LB 7 CB 6 S 5 Denver running the same projected scheme that we will run under Fox drafted this way: Again defense only DT 2 DE3 LB 5 CB 3 S 2 In our projected defensive scheme it seems like th…

  11. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0128-story.html Pretty interesting article. A lot of what we've already heard but Feeley is a pretty intelligent guy and already kind of works in media (outside of occasionally signing on when other teams kickers get hurt).

CHI - John Chiles signs Futures deal Source: NFL Free-agent WR John Chiles (CFL) signed a Reserve/Future contract with the Chicago Bears Tuesday, Jan. 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The former Texas Longhorn was undrafted in 2011, but he did spend some time with the Saints and the Rams before heading up north. In the CFL, Chiles played for the Toronto Argonauts. He's a good receiver on deep routes, can track the ball well over his shoulder and has agility in the open field. Chiles' game is built on his run-after-the-catch ability and vertical speed.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...ebackers-coach/ Bears name Clint Hurtt outside linebackers coach Posted by Josh Alper on January 27, 2015, 4:04 PM EST Chicago Bears v Carolina Panthers Getty Images The Bears have brought several of John Fox’s assistants to Chicago from Denver since hiring Fox as their head coach, but one member of the 2014 staff will be sticking around. Clint Hurtt was the defensive line coach in 2014 and will remain on the staff in 2015 as the team’s outside linebackers coach. The position is usually found on staffs running a 3-4 defense, which isn’t what the Bears ran last season but is likely to be at least part of the…

  14. Familiarity with Fox, great age so you would feel more comfortable giving him the money, etc. Allows you to focus on BPA and really shore up a major need position in the secondary. Pair him with Mundy / Vereen and maybe Gholson (Ex 49 er safety who will likely be cut by Tampa).

  15. Does Briggs fit a 3-4? Given all the needs, if we add one or two young players, not a bad thing to have a dedicated Briggs back. The question really comes in to his dedication. Of course, I'm one of the few on this board that has been a huge Briggs fan, although last year he clearly was pretty upset and don't like the way he handled himself. I presume the Bears will not bring him back but in Fox / Pace I trust. I would hope Fox, Briggs, Fangio and Pace could talk and see if they thought there was a good fit. I am most concerned on his inability to stay on the field though. He was still our best lb'er (not that it says much) when he was healthy. At least make sure you d…

Results stunk and he was in over his head, but he was probably one of the classier guys on the coaching staff and one of the few of the primary coaches whom the players really stood up for and seemingly played hard for. Wish him the best at Bama and hope he can learn from the disaster that happened in Chicago.

  20. I am truly saddened by the passing of one of my childhood heroes Ernie Banks aka Mr. Cub. By me being one of the true nuts who roots for both Chicago baseball teams because of the way my dad did this. My spring and summers consisted of Cubs baseball in the afternoon on channel 9 (WGN) and White Sox at night on the transitor radio since the Sox played more night games home and away. Ernie Banks epitomized what we all would hope the sports teams we root for players would be. Personable, productive, approachable and entusiastic about their team and the city they play in. RIP Mr Cub. My Chicago Sports Mt Rushmore: Halas-Banks-Hull- Jordon
