http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...e022908.article Not a big deal, as far as I'm concerned. I'd just use a pick in the 6th/7th to get the best remaining blocking TE available. They don't tend to go early.

Another member of that famous 65 draft though he came in undrafted and turned out to be one of the Bears most electric returners who some say never called for a fair catch. He wasn't bad as a corner either and I have to tell you all that between Gayle Sayers and Devin Hester, he, Cecil Turner and Ike Hill were some guys who were exciting on returns for the Bears back in the day. Ron Smith was fearless on punt returns and he was one of my childhood favorites. He succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 70 but, his 30+ yd return avg in 72 got him voted to the Pro Bowl as a return specialist.

Let's say the Bears end up where they are at or slightly better in the draft. With all the clamor and hype for QBs this year, is there a player good enough for the Bears to stay where they are at? Convince me, and likely everyone else, why the Bears should stay where they are at. Because I don't see it. This is a 100% trade back kind of draft.

Obviously we are not contending for anything this year and in general, I am a believer in keeping draft picks (if not acquiring more picks), but given how thin we are at the wide receiver position, should the Bears be actively looking at trading for someone who can be a long-term piece (vs. waiting until free agency/draft). Most of me stands in the, go with what we have camp (even if it is the worst corps in the league), however, another part of me says that if we are going to turn this over to Trubisky, we do want to put him in a position to succeed, and with the absolute lack of talent, are we actually stunting his growth by having such an incompetent corps out there? …

Izzy and Manning. Both have played very well this year. You can also throw DJ Moore in the mix. He looks like he is the answer at nickel-back. Peace

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate this board and with the season kicking off the board is back with interesting chatter. I think this board has some of the greatest Bear talk minds and it is always a pleasure to visit. I will have to miss the Bears vs Patriot game since I will be traveling back from Sioux Falls SD that evening. I hope to find a radio station broadcasting for that drive back to Illinois, but if not hopefully you guys will be posting often.

When praising or criticizing Pace we need to look at his plan. In the first two years, he took position players and did not draft a QB. He tried to trade up for Mariota and last year to go up and get Wentz. I would have to say both of those should turn out to be good QBs. So I think he can identify a QB when he sees one. In the three year of a rebuild , he need to get a QB to push forward with the progress, so he addressed with an urgency. I would say he identified Tribusky as his guy early but there was no guarantee he would be there at three. So he went out and grabbed the best QB available in FA.He did think in spite of getting a chance to draft Tribusky , be…

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4685/matt-forte According to FOX's Jay Glazer, Matt Forte (ankle) will play against the Cowboys Monday "barring a freak setback." Per Glazer, Forte is "healthy and set to play," and has been telling teammates he'll be active. The final test will come in pre-game warmups, but owners who have waited can count on Forte suiting up. Forte will almost certainly cede a greater amount of work than usual to Michael Bush, but the news severely dents Bush's flex value. However, NFL.com's Albert Breer reports the Bears "don't want to overuse" Forte. Regardless, if you own both players, Forte is the stronger play. Oct 1 - 1:07 PM

Clips of Glennon's turnovers are showing up and after watching things he was even worse than I first thought. First thought was that he's terrible. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2017/9/19...nfl-week-2-2017 https://duckduckgo.com/?q=glennon+sack+fumb...iai=DgX8pE9pzKM I've seen blame on the Oline for the sack fumble but in reality he has a hot read in Wright wide open. When they bring 6 you should throw into the coverage gap behind the blitz. People talked about Massie giving up edge pressure but Noah Spence ran 10 yards upfield to get around Massie. On the INT when throwing to Bellamy after the game Glennon said Bellamy had turned his …

Evidently Glennon / Tru both looked really good this past weekend. I'm getting more and more confident in the fact that I think Glennon will prove to be a solid starter. As it relates to Trubisky, I think it is great how accurate he has looked and that he has flashed that "athleticism" and accuracy (supposedly he has been the most accurate QB the vast majority of training camp). That said, the differentiator between solid and great QB's isn't physical skills (those are more of the pre-requisite). It is going to take time to see if Tru has it between the ears, but great to see that he's super accurate (would love to have a QB who just throws dimes (to our players) all ove…

Per everyone. Glennon saves $11.5 and Young saves $4.5, so another $16mil. Kyle Long now the oldest player on the team at 29. Now with the 3rd most cap space heading into free agency and 6th youngest team in the league. Wheaton and Cooper should be next, another $9.5 in savings and would make us the 4th youngest team in the league.

With all the negativity surrounding his play Glennon accepted his demotion with more class and dignity than anyone has in the past other than Kurt Warner when the Giants put Eli Manning in for him. Glennon vowed to help Trubisky any way he can and be ready if called upon again. That's putting team before personal goals magnified.

Can you believe the Bears signed Glennon and drafted Trubisky in the same offseason and then benched Glennon after he had 4 straight games with a TD pass, completed over 63% of his passes and 3 games with over 200 yards passing (1x 300 yard game)? For as bad as we thought Glennon was (which he was), Trubisky is actually worse. Trubisky has 0 TD passes in 6 of his last 8 games (not including MIN game where he left with injury). Trubisky now has as many games with less than 200 yards passing than he has with more than 200 yards passing (16 games each). Glennon, in comparison has 13 games over 200 yards, 9 games under 200. The worst part is TD passes. Trub…

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...80-4c02c2055a19 A few things to note. The notion that Glennon was not called or notified at all is now completely debunked. He was called 10 minutes after the pick and the next morning. So this also ties back into the secrecy scenario and the need to keep things quiet. Glennon was at the Bears draft party, so why would they invite him, then draft a QB in the 1st...... I am glad Glennon is taking all this in stride, or at least saying the right things. I am actually hoping he has a great year, which will ultimately benefit us in some way shape or form.

For years and years we have watched the draft and said to ourselves, "WTF is that pick? Why aren't they factoring in need? Who the hell is that and where did he play? Why are they trying to show how cute or smart they are? Just make smart freaking picks!!!" Is this FINALLY the GM who picks how we more or less agree? Sorry guys, but based on the horrible drafts of the past, I still don't think they were competent in their jobs, regardless of how much inside info they had. If they were that good, and that above the average person, much less the die-hard like this board, then they would have had much better success. This is especially true for JA - dartboard se…

Now the boring time of the year. Cant wait for FA to begin!!!!!! Pace and Fox now have to go through the roster and prepare for the draft. The next couple of months should be a little more interesting then years past 1. The great Jay debate will be solved.....will they try to win with him now, will they cut him or trade him 2. Marshal= where there is smoke there usually is fire......has he really worn out his welcome 3. What scheme will the Bears be running on D???? should get a pretty good idea by the roster moves 4. what older players will be resigned or cut???? I am really excited to see what the Bears do in FA and the Draft.....not to …
