Not that it's big news, but the NFL Network is reporting that Rasheed Davis has signed his one-year tender offer w/the Bears. Given the current state of our receiving corps. it couldn't hurt having him compete during camp.

I think right now the setting calls for only like 10 or 15 threads on each page (ie, when you go into the Bears forum, you only see 10 or 15 threads), but would people prefer a few more threads when you go to the forum as the default? The activity has been booming and with that it has forced some threads off of page 1 pretty quickly so I'm thinking if we can keep a few more on page 1 it will keep discussion going in more threads. Anyway, just give me a yeah or nay on the idea.

I'm just curious to see what others think. What front office, organization, war room did well in your opinion? I like Baltimore and Kansas City...they both had good drafts, IMO.

Since Benson was already on thin ice, and clearly not living up to expectations, is this arrest the opportunity the coaches needed to supplant him as training camp #1? Will there be a "RB Battle" similar to the "QB Battle"? I could easily see the coaches going with the rookie from day one, saying that he just plain ol' beat out Cedric Benson in camp. Is this a possibility? Would it be wise?

Article on the Bears QB situation Reading the article, along with another on the Bears Breaking Camp, I see several points: Smith saying that they would like to know before the 3rd preseason game who the starting QB would be so that it would give them time to settle in before the season starts for real. Smith saying that the starters may play even longer this week in the preseason game, quite possibly well into the 3rd quarter, I assume to give a chance to evaluate the teams starters in depth. I suspect all the speculation over who our starter will be over soon.

Reading some of the articles before, during, and after the competition the same thing keeps jumping out at me. -Which guy will best manage the offense -which guy is the safest choice -which guy is less likely to turn the ball over -which guy will make the fewest mistakes -which guy presents the lowest risk What we are really doing is playing not to lose and from that perspective which guy fits that bill. The staff knows our offense is crap, our line is crap, our receivers would at best be backups on most rosters, our QB's would likely be backups elsewhere (making it a competition to see which backup quality QB should be our starter). I keep reading reports and articles about this Bolt guy. I know he's the fastest man in the world, and it doesn't appear to be close. His races have been amazing, and his size is impressive. The thing is, I keep hearing/reading stuff about this guy becoming an NFL receiver. For instance: Bolt as a WR. What do you guys make of the idea? Willie Gault turned out pretty good for the Bears. Imagine a guy who is not only easily faster than gault, but also bigger and stronger? I don't think the Bears should do it considering their WR logjam, but it's an interesting idea. Nobody in the NFL could cover him one-on-one.

I'm not a doctor. I never claimed to be one. But hearing all the expertise here about how Angelo was a complete idiot regarding a 3 or 4 year old herniated disc was inspirational. It inspired me to do a quickie Google of the terms "herniated disc recovery". Well, I'll be damned if the first full page isn't full of free information on how exercise is the number one cure. Since Poles was in KC, what cheap free agents could Ryan bring with him? WRs Brian Pringle and Demarcus Robinson CBs Chavius Ward and Mike Hughes S Daniel Sorenson None made significant money and Sorenson is the only one with age. Pringle has 4.46 speed and has gotten better every year. Ward is a better CB than anyone on our roster not named Johnson.
