White is here till he proves he sucks as one of a group of 6. I think we resign Meredith and cut lose Wheaton saving 5 mil on the cap. They will make a decision to go back to Wright or bring in Albert Wilson to play the slot, whatever Nagy is most comfortable with. The three amigos for the WR position are Robinson, Landry and Watkins. I think Watkins and Robinson get tagged so that leaves Landry with a fat contract that will take us out of the running. The next group with upside are (27 or younger) Jordan Matthews ( not in any particular order) Taylor Gabriel Donte Moncrief Tyrell Williams Marquis Lee Quincy Enunwa Paul Richardson …

So Freeman, Trevathan, and Kwiatkowski. What can be done? Is our promising rookie going to be languishing on the bench next year? Merely rotational? I'd hate to see Kwiatkowski wasted now that he's shown so much potential. It's a situation we have not had to deal with for a while.

Is this guy as good as the article is claiming? I did not have a chance to watch any of the regular season college football and know zip squat about the players entering the draft other than what I read. They make this guy sound like a can't miss prospect.

Broke my back (T11&12) on May 11. Just released from rehab center to continue recovery at home. In too much pain to sit in this damn brace long enough to catch up on what I have missed in regards to recent developments of our Bears. Can you give me an update on what I've missed out on? Additions? Edge rusher? etc... I need to get back in bed. Will check bacm tomorrow. Thanks.

CNNSI has a small piece where they question whether Cutler is a franchise QB. I have no issue with this question in general. I have my opinion, but it is a fair question. The issue I have is with their reasoning. They say a franchise QB is one who makes those around him better, and goes on to say Cutler did not do this. Hester may not have had the big leap in stats many hoped, but he did continue to improve with more catches, yards and average. Bennett barely saw the field his rookie year, but managed over 50 catches and over 700 yards. Olsen is another, like Hester, who many hoped for big things, but while that didn't happen, he increased his number …

does it really matter who we get at DC? Whomever comes in will most likely have no previous DC experience (probably someone from Indy's staff). Unless Lovie can pull a rabbit out of a hat and get Herm Edwards to take the position, he is screwed. Hell, they might as well give Babich the position back. He won't cost them anything extra and they could say that a year away from the position gave him a better perspective. Who cares what the fans think??? They have basically told us to go pound sand so how could bringing Babich back be any worse. Hell, he'll probably have more experience than any candidate they hire. UUUGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Peace

  10. Far too often we are forced to see the DL jump offsides. Far too often we are forced to see the OL twitch in crucial moments. Far too often we are forced to see the WR run the wrong route. Far too often we are forced to see the LB pick the wrong gap. Far too often we are forced to see the DB make horrible tackling attempts. This is the most poorly coached Bears team I have ever seen. I don't know what this coaching staff must do to get fired, but this is ridiculous.

27 days until the draft. Let's get started on some serious draft talk. What positions and players do you think we need? This year has us limited on picks, but we can find some gems. As George Thorogood said, "Who do you love":

  13. Didn't know where else to put this, so just created a new thread. Given that we spent the time to interview him, he's clearly someone on the radar. Tweet was from Peter King of SI. There was talk that Quinn was hoping to work with the Vikings Asst. Gm, who turned down all interviews and chose to stay in Minny.

Angelo couldn't draft a good offensive lineman in the first round if his life depended on it, but he owned round #7. I look for Emery to continue that tradition and draft our new starting left tackle here shortly. Any predictions?

  18. RAMS CHOP CHAVOUS Posted by Mike Florio on February 13, 2009, 3:33 p.m. The Rams have parted ways with safety Corey Chavous, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Chavous, an eleven-year veteran, spent three years with the Rams. He started 43 of 48 games. The move came days after Chavous’s agent requested that the player be released. Chavous previously played for the Cardinals and the Vikings, starting every game in Minnesota over a four-year career there. Per Thomas, the moves creates $1.2 million in cap space.

"Big D&%# Nick" comes up big. 2.5 quarters with Trubisky generated 10 points against a terrible Falcons defense. He also gave them great field position on his interception. 1.5 quarters with Foles generated 20 points. He also had a TD taken away when Dennard took the ball away from ARob in the end zone. So it could have been 27. Night and day difference running the offense.
