http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears Tice in no hurry to settle starting O-line Mike Tice believes Lance Louis is a protype right guard because of his size and strength.BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- Bears coach Lovie Smith, and offensive coordinator Mike Martz recently expressed concern about the club finalizing its decision-making process in naming the starters along the offensive line. The unit’s coach, however, isn’t in such a hurry. “I have to have patience,” offensive line coach Mike Tice said. “The way I look at it is I’ve got five weeks to get these guys ready to play winning football. That’s my job.” Smith and Martz seem to be content to …

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/...-on-his-nerves/ Bears’ Lamarr Houston says Aaron Rodgers’ championship belt gets on his nerves Posted by Michael David Smith on May 3, 2016, 5:03 PM EDT rodgersbelt Getty Images Bears linebacker Lamarr Houston is spicing up the offseason with a little trash talk aimed at Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Asked about Rodgers on ESPN today, Houston acknowledged he’s a good player but said he doesn’t like him as a person and especially doesn’t like his attitude, exemplified by his trademark celebration of pretending to put a championship belt around his waist. “He’s a little arrogant for me. He’s a little …

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...admires-jeffery The Marshal Jeffrey combo could be deadly. There are not many teams with two shut down corners that can hang with these two when it comes to height.

This article poses an interesting question: https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2019/02/01/5-moves-the-chicago-bears-should-make-in-free-agency/4/ Should the Bears go after Clay Matthews? Does anyone really think he's going to sign for a reasonable and minimal contract considering his production the past few years? Would he start over Floyd?

He's disappeared. I know the Bears exercised the 5th year option on him but, at this time, he's not playing anywhere close to that value ($13.2 million). My understanding is the Bears could simply cut him before the beginning of the league year and would not have to pay him. Is this correct? Peace

Guessing we'll be somewhere around 10th with a 6-10 record. Shouldn't deviate much from that. Having said that, it's time to start thinking about the draft. Here's my first go at a mock. 1. , DE, Ole Miss - Great fit for the D. Has all the measurables. Crazy speed, explosion, quick-twitch. He could be a nightmare pass-rusher for the Bears. 2. , ILB, Arizona - The Bears need a tackling-machine in the middle. Conveniently, Scooby can run sideline to sideline as well as rush the passer, and he has a great nose for the ball. He'd be a versatile player for Fangio. 3. , FS, Clemson - Add him to my man-crush list. Huge, rangy, great instincts, great …

I know it's the final preseason game, but no thread at all? Here's what I saw: - There will be more talented QBs cut than David Fales and the Bears should find one and put him on their practice squad. - The Bears will lose out on a talented player because they insist on holding onto Jacquizz Rodgers, who will not have a memorable moment this season. He is easily the 4th best RB on the roster and we could pick up his equivalent on waivers. I'd cut him. The Bears won't. Howard was particularly impressive tonight. - The FB Lasike had some big hits and caught the ball well. I think he makes the team as the FB. - I'm surprised we didn't see anything of Ben Brau…

I would do it anyway. Their defense would be so good, possibly the best in the NFL with Mack.

Just wondering, but could our not firing Lovie be more an indictment of Angelo? Could it be that the team is not ready to fire Angelo, but at the same time, not sure whether he will remain long term? If Angelo is in hot water, does it make sense to fire Lovie this year, have Angelo hire a new HC? The more I think about it, the more I think this has a lot to do w/ Angelo. I don't think our owners are ready to fire Angelo, but not willing to allow him to hire a new HC either. That could mean that next year, assuming we don't see big gains, will end in a total house cleaning.

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 24m Pending a physical #Bears expected to sign TE Leonard Pope. Another end zone threat to throw out there. Speculation the Eldridge is being cut for Pope. Trying to cover a 2 TE set with Marshall, Jeffery, M. Bennett and Pope would be awfully difficult in the red zone.

This should be obvious, but I want to know if ANYONE is actually still defending this tool Turner? I said it last year, and it took another two full seasons before just about everyone was on board with the reality that this guy couldn't call a deadly, unpredictable, successful offensive gameplan if his life depended on it. I was at the game, and at one point multiple people in my section were yelling out the plays when they happened. It was uncanny how successful we were. The run up the middle was a popular play. Is it any wonder that when the Bears run on the edges it's often successful? It's because EVERYONE is shocked. Just like the 3rd down run by Forte for…

Only 9.5 favorites for Week 1, those are pretty good betting odds in favor of the Bears. I see them winning by at least 10. Hard to see the game being closer than that. I am figuring at least 31 on offense, and I can't see the Colts breaking 20 unless there are some late garbage points. What do you think? I say Bears 34-17.

Give Cutler some time and good things happen.... Also thought the play calling was better. I like the crossing routes and slants.
