Rotoworld is reporting that the Steelers just shipped Santonio Holmes to the Jets for a 2010 fifth-rounder. It's the #151 pick overall. Holmes is a big character risk, and I'm not one of these people saying that the Bears desperately need to upgrade at receiver, but Angelo absolutely should have sent a 5th for him. Santonio and Hester would have been a nasty pair of deep-threats for Martz's deep passing game.

CNNSI has a small piece where they question whether Cutler is a franchise QB. I have no issue with this question in general. I have my opinion, but it is a fair question. The issue I have is with their reasoning. They say a franchise QB is one who makes those around him better, and goes on to say Cutler did not do this. Hester may not have had the big leap in stats many hoped, but he did continue to improve with more catches, yards and average. Bennett barely saw the field his rookie year, but managed over 50 catches and over 700 yards. Olsen is another, like Hester, who many hoped for big things, but while that didn't happen, he increased his number …

Okay, we are nearly done finalizing our rules. Thus far, we have voted on and decided that we will keep one player from last year. To keep that player, we will give up one round higher than the one the player was drafted. And finally, 1st round picks from the previous year are not eligible for keeper status. The final decision (I think) is how we set up the draft. I have seen several options listed, but again, based on discussion, and trying to keep it simple, I am going to put into the poll the two main options I think I have seen discussed. Pretty simple. Either the draft is random, or based on last year's standings. I vote random.

The Minnesota Vikings say receiver Sidney Rice has had hip surgery, a procedure that could keep the Pro Bowler out for the first half of the season or more.

He had two points today: 1. He's almost positive Hanie will be making his first career start on Sunday. 2. Hub was saying that they couldn't do 3 step drops because the receivers can't be trusted. Cutler had to move Hester on many plays because he was lined up on the wrong side. He flat out did not trust that the receivers would be where they were supposed to be.

I was very critical of Jay during & after the Giants game but after my rewatch & reading the news since it seems he played most of the game concussed. Not a lot a QB can do when he has no idea whats going on. My only question now is if I could spot it watching on telly why didn't the coaches/doctors not pull him straight away??

Everyone else on this team needs to check their heart and watch game film of Payton. Including our dipsh#t coaching staff and mangement. Every last one involved in this team... This team is gutless. After a day of pondering the game... 1. Hester is such a joy to watch! So glad he's back taking kickoffs like so many of us have been screaming for... He is a difference maker there. 2. Cutler had a big boy game. He made a bad mistake in the red zone, but made up for it with pretty much flawless decision making other than that. The playaction to Kellen was a thing of beauty. 3. The D looks good. They are oportunistic. Pretty much the pedigree that Smith was hired on. I still worry about the big gaffe by the safteies that led to a TD and a PI. I still would like a little more pressure on the QB... But overall, these guys are playing good defensi…
