I was looking at the opponents in 2009, and I know it's not even close to this season being over, but, next year we have: Rams Cardinals Browns Lions @ Bengals @ Seahawks @ 49ers @ Lions Pretty easy. Thoughts??

we are approximately 9 million under the cap with next Monday as the deadline for applying future salaries to this yrs cap. What to do? - Sign Kyle to a long term deal? - Sign St Clair (FA after this yr)? - Sign Mike Brown (FA after this yr)? - Sign Brandon Lloyd (FA after this yr)? I was thinking on holding out on extending Kyle until the end of the yr (to see if he can maintain his level of performance) but it may be beneficial to extend him now and eat most of the cap this yr. Thoughts? Peace

Chicago Bears QB Kyle Orton's Great Game Against the Vikings Could Have Been Greater Posted Oct 21st 2008 11:47AM by Michael David Smith (author feed) Filed under: Bears Bears quarterback Kyle Orton had a fantastic game on Sunday against the Vikings, and he's looking nothing at all like the guy who started for the Bears in 2005. Orton completed 21 of 32 passes for 283 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions, for a passer rating of 114.5 on Sunday -- the sixth best passer rating in the league in Week 7. But he actually did that on a day when his receivers didn't do him any favors. Marty Booker dropped what should have been a 14-yard touchdown pa…

http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2008/...umors_pers.html The Lions have finally confirmed an earlier report here that free agent quarterback Daunte Culpeper is visiting the team at its Allen Park practice facility. Whether Culpepper eventually will sign a contract with the Lions is unknown. It's not usual for free agents to visit teams Tuesday, the day that clubs continue to maintain their "short list'' in case of injury to other players. Last week, the Lions brought in free-agent quarterback Tim Rattay for a workout. What makes the Culpepper situation more interesting is that Culpepper was scheduled to visit the Kansas City Chiefs today, presumably …

Bum thumb to sideline Hillenmeyer By Vaughn McClure | Tribune reporter 9:52 PM CDT, October 28, 2008 A source close to Hunter Hillenmeyer said there is "no chance" the linebacker will play against Detroit on Sunday after the linebacker underwent surgery on his right thumb last week. Hillenmeyer is expected to be out a few weeks, according to the source. Nick Roach is expected to replace Hillenmeyer as the starter at strong-side linebacker. Hillenmeyer did not practice Monday and declined to discuss his injury status. Coach Lovie Smith did not publicly rule out any player for Sunday's game. Hillenmeyer started the first seven games, recording 21 tack…

I've seen this now in 2 separate ESPN chats that the bears are working on a Wildcat formation this week, and that Hester could be involved. Id be happier to see the Wildcat run with Forte and Jones, rather than Forte and Hester, simply because the wildcat doesnt really get hester into too much space where he can be effective

INJURY REPORT AND IMPLICATIONS Detroit Lions (0-7) at Chicago Bears (4-3) By Michael Nudo The numbers for Orlovsky have been good (AP Photo/David J. Phillip). BEARS OFFENSEcolor> vs. LIONS DEFENSEcolor> The Bears are hoping to have wide receiver Brandon Lloyd (knee) back in the lineup after the bye week. Lloyd was establishing himself as Kyle Orton’s number one option before he injured his knee. Rookie offensive tackle Chris Williams (back surgery) should have enough practice reps under his belt to be ready to contribute. If they slide him in at all, he’ll face the one player having a decent season for the Lions in Dewayne White (5.5 sacks). The Be…

I LOVE this team, and I can foresee a deep playoff run in our near future, if not a Super Bowl berth. - The offense is clicking on all cylinders. Kyle has gotten us to this point with better-than-game-managing play, and because of that the run will start opening up for us. -The defense is loaded with veterans who will not tolerate playing second-fiddle to the offense, especially after so many years of high-level play and being the pride of Chicago. Read the cover story on www.chicagobears.com today. Tommie Harris and that D-line KNOW they haven't been getting it done. They will not allow it to continue. I believe it has nothing to do with Babich, or Lovie, o…
