As a heads up...you might notice some posts from today missing. I was trying to do an upgrade and ran into an issue and had to restore from yesterday's backup. Apologies for the inconvenience. Either way, I'll be updating forum software shortly (shouldn't be an issue) but in case someone sees site down for a few hours, that would be why.

Does anybody have an idea where Bowling has been and Brian Bear. I dont always agree with those guys but enjoy there input on this blog.

  4. While some are not sure about drafting a DT early 3rd, I think it worth pointing out that, other than maybe Michael Johnson, I think any of the players many here wanted w/ that early 3rd are still on the board. The way this is going, I think one or more of the WRs we might have liked (Iglesias, Murphy, Barden, etc) will still be there at the end of round 3. Also, several OL (Duke, Merideth) are still there. Sidbury is still on the board. Gilbert was not going to last much longer, but others we may want look like they will. Plus, if we want (for example) a WR and a run begins, we have the ammo to move up and get one.

Wonder if Brian heard the crowd in Arizona booing their team or saw the replay of Pittsburgh being booed off Heinz Field??? Just curious since he believes no one boos their team like Bear fans. peace

In low information times everyone is doing stories on favorite of all time, most popular, Bears. Many answers to those but since 2000 who was the most fun to watch. D or O ? I am torn between Devin Hester and Brian Urlacker. You can click on Youtube and they will play for you. Anyone know how to share without getting blacked out?

I thought I'd start a new thread for this, since it's not clear how much of it is related to Tillman's injury and how much is not. Here are the changes in the secondary so far: - Danieal Manning is back at FS... - ...but Craig Steltz will replace him in the nickel package. On obvious passing downs, Manning will move to nickel back (although Jeff Dickerson suggests that Corey Graham might get some snaps there as well.) - In the base package, Steltz is the backup SS behind Kevin Payne. - Corey Graham is back at corner... - ...but Zack Bowman is the starter at left corner in Tillman's absence. So, unless I'm wrong, our secondary depth c…

Louis Delmars was cut today from Detriot. The last two years he has been plagued by injuries,Detroit cut him because of the price of his contract this year. He was due to make 6 mil on a one year extension and they needed the cap space. If he can over come his injuries he would be a much better player than our two starters last year. He will come reasonable and I think we should kick the tires on him.

Texans cut Louis Nix today. He was in Bill O'Brien's doghouse. I wonder if Bears would take a look. Would seem to fit your prototypical NT mold, albeit he obviously hasn't lived up to his ND hype. He was a projected 1st / 2nd round pick when he fell to the 3rd round because of some concerns over his weight and work-ethic. Perhaps getting cut and coming back to the midwest would help? I would have to think we'd be potentially interested. Never played a game last year due to surgery on his knee during the preseason.

  15. Started by adam,

Early on there were a lot of concerns about the Bears picking Loveland over Warren (or a DT, Edge, or OT). Warren came out of the gate on fire and was really looking like one of the best TEs in the league while Loveland was still recovering from surgery and getting limited playing time. Right now Warren's raw stats look better, but those are essentially padded by playing time. Warren has 200 more offensive snaps than Loveland and 41 more targets. However, since November, Loveland has been one of the best TEs in the league. In that span, he beats Warren in every category. Warren has been pretty bad the last few weeks, with only 8 catches on 21 targets, for a tot…

  20. There is only one coach-GM tandem in Bear history that is more successful than Lovie and JA and that is Ditka and Finks. The problem is when Ditka was hired the "Ole Man" stepped in and stepped on Finks toes basically forcing Ditka down Finks' throat since Ditka as a Dallas assistant wrote a letter to Halas campaigning for the HC job. That made their time together only 2 years. The "Ole Man" also stepped on Ditka's toes by hiring the defensive coordinator(Buddy Ryan) before hiring the head coach. Since the man that hired Finks, George "Mugsy" Halas Jr had passed away Jim Finks felt betrayed and left the organization during the 83 season and had a short lived stint with th…
