On the move: Moving Cutler via designed rollouts was a key factor in last Sunday’s win over the Vikings and something that the quarterback hopes will remain in the game plan. “It was great,” Cutler said. “We’ve got to keep doing it. We’ve got to keep doing it in different ways, showing different looks; get off the spot as much as we possibly can because it helps with everything. It helps the pass rush, get some easy balls out to the flat, out on the outside lets the guys run. It’s got to be something in our offense that we do more of.” For as long as Cutler has been in the league his mobility has always been something those in the "know" have touted as one of hi…

If you look at last year and with what teams gained this offseason, who will be the tougher defensive battles on our schedule. I dont see anybody very good till we get to maybe Dallas, and Jacksonville in the middle of the season. The games 10 and 11 gives us some stiff tests with the Texans and 49ers two weeks in a row. The Seahawks in week 13. Unless the Pack and Lions defenses take a large step forward we have only maybe 5 teams that you would consider tough defensive teams we will face all year. With that I see Cutler and Marshall tourching the league this year with big numbers, barring injury.

I want to add in a random fact. Type 1 diabetics are told they should not(only in a worse case situation would they) take cortisone shots. A local radio show out here had a doctor on talking about it. Geeze, guy goes out and plays 3 series on a torn MCL (grade 2 sprain) without any pain killers. Thats a f***ing man!

I know some of you don't rate these guys but for me enough experts reference them & teams use them for it to be a valid reference point https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/...sts-and-worsts/ in order to qualify for the study a player needed to have 75 attempted tackles (including sacks) over the past three seasons Defensive Lineman and the Perfect Score With the qualifying threshold of 75 attempts eliminating several players who have gone without a missed tackle in their few chances, only one perfect score remains in the study, belonging to the Bears’ Israel Idonije.

After watching only the first quarter in the NFL replay, one thing became abundantly clear: Rex Grossman is scared. Even though he was facing heat the entire first quarter, Rex Grossman was throwing like he had a gun pointed at him. Timid movements, bad mechanics, late reads, and unsure throws combined to make him look rough. With or without pressure, an NFL QB needs to be more pocket aware, needs to understand when a sack is better than a lame duck pass, and what to do to avoid either the sack or the intentional grounding. There is absolutely no mystery why Kyle Orton was named the starter.

In talking about the preseason game with Az, what does Lovie stress as a key area of concern? missed field goals? He even went on to say the D played well. What? If this defense can't stop teams from converting on 3rd downs. FGs are not going to make a dang bit of difference. Lovie continues his dillusional ways. Nothing to see here. All is well. Move on.

Butkus rips Bears, wonders if Lovie is lame-duck Oct 19 10/19/2010 9:40:27 AM | More Bears Hall of Famer Dick Butkus had some pointed remarks Monday about his former team's struggles on offense according to David Kaplan of the Chicago Tribune. "(The offensive line) is awful," said Butkus, in town to promote his "I Play Clean" foundation to educate athletes about steroid abuse. "The Skins and whoever else they play have to be looking at tapes today and licking their chops. The Bears have their hands full. "It would be different if it was just the left tackle blowing a block every other time. But this is the left guard, then the right tackle .…

his defense is a complete train wreck. i have never in my lifetime ever seen a bear defense this bad. it's historical. the wall of shame: tucker - i have given this guy a break all season because of the injury factor. no more!! i understand injuries can be a real cause for 'some' of the problems we are seeing but... by this time in the season NOBODY is a rookie anymore and to see these players game after game make the same mistakes and see no change or improvement is simply incredible.after 15 weeks of game play these players, rookies AND vets, still not having a clue how to play their position falls on the coaching staff and phil emery. either these …

Damn am I torn on this one. He is my favorite Bear and I would love to see him retire here but it is clear he has lost a step. Further, it is clear Payne is no FS but he did look very good at SS. This is going to be a tough decision up at Halas Hall. My favorite quote in the article: Said center Olin Kreutz, one of two players remaining with more tenure: ''He's one of those guys that once you have him in your locker room, you should never let him leave.'' http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear26.article Peace

  14. Yes. I admit this is a stupid thread. Still, the idea is interesting, and worth a January conversation, even if just for fun. Gronk is apparently telling Brady to go to another team. That implies that he might be willing to come out of retirement to join Brady somewhere without Belichick. They'd want a team with a good defense. They'd want a team that needs a QB and a TE. A team that knew that they were getting older and would draft a QB to sit behind Brady for a couple of years. They'd want a team with a "fun" head coach. No winning at any cost like Belichick. Someone who liked to have dance parties when they win regular season games. Someone who was …

I just read an article on this kid and looked up some info, he had 33 PBU and 13 INT in his career. He didnt get drafted because of his small stature. He is 5'9" 183 but is an explosive player. 11' broad jump 43" vertical leap 7.00 3 cone drill The kid needs to get stronger but has all the skills to be our slot corner http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2476297...okie-gem/page/7

We have a number of roster spots to fill: DT- We have Melton, Paea, Collins. We need at least one to fill a rotational role. Options (Idonije) can play both DE and DT, and as FAgency drags on, can be brought back cheap. (Sedrich Ellis) was a bust for NO, but is young enough to become a descent player. (Derek Landri) has some pass rushing skills. …

Based on Fox's comments last week, if Hoyer played well this week, he would keep the starting job. It will be interesting to see if they keep Cutler in street clothes. I am kind of torn on this. Do you play Cutler due to salary (and possibly as an audition), or do you play Hoyer with the intent to keep him as a bridging strategy going forward? Cutler is the oldest player on the roster now with Gould gone. Our Firesale would be a clown car on fire.... Who do we have that someone else would want? Young ($4.1mil)? Porter($4mil)? Miller($2.5mil)?
