People forget how bad last year's Week 1 was because the Bears won, but I doubt people remember that the offense didn't score a TD (Stevenson had a Pick-6 and Owens had a Blocked Punt Return). The offense had 11 first downs, 5 passing, and had 148 total yards. This year they had 20 first downs, 10 passing, and had 317 total yards against a better defense. Williams' performance has also improved: 2024: 14-29, 93 yards, 48.3%, 0 TD, 0 INT, 3.2 Y/A, 2 sacks, 55.7 QB Rating, 22.5 QBR, 5-15 rushing. 2025: 21-35, 210 yards, 60.0%, 1 TD, 0 INT, 6.0 Y/A, 2 sacks, 86.6 QB Rating, 63.8 QBR, 6-58 rushing, 1 TD.

This is not a result of Ben Johnson, Caleb Williams, or anyone else but Ryan Poles. You can't continually lose on trades and under draft year after year. 2025 Draft picks in the first 4 rounds have literally contributed zero to this team in 2 weeks, and the Bears had 5 picks in the first 4 rounds. In 2024, he drafted Williams #1 and Odunze #9, which were a wash. Most had Williams going #1 and Odunze at 8. He did pass on Brock Bowers and Thomas Jr to go with Odunze. Also passed on every other QB for Williams. Right now, even after a great game for Odunze, it looks like those both were the wrong picks compared to players picked after them. We still have to gi…

Looks to be out for awhile or possibly the entire season. Crazy think players can get hurt outside of work and basically get workers comp. Good reason for a fire sale I guess. Clean house at deadline and reset for next year. Use this year for offensive development and to evaluate players.

In the last two games he has allowed 3 receptions for 16 yards on 12 targets with 3 PBUs, an INT, and a forced fumble + fumble recovery. PFF had the LVR game as his highest graded game of his career at 93.3 and the DAL game was his 3rd best. So in the last two weeks, Stevenson had 2 of his top 3 games of his career, and both games he was technically CB1. This is year 3 for him, but if he keeps this up, the Bears may want to get in front of an extension because he will only get more expensive.

Poles was saying Ozzy won't be back until well into the season next year. Kiran is the only available option still on the roster. Theo would have to be resigned back as a restricted free agent. It could be a draft pick even the first round is in play. I would suspect it has to do with could Ozzy come back to the level he was playing at when he was injured. Or a veteran Free agent. Does anyone think the possibility they resign Braxton Jones? I hate to say it but a free agent with a ton of starts may be in play.

The Bears have brought FA DE-AJ Epenesa in for a workout late last week. Another talent to rotate with Sweat, Booker, Dayo, and Turner will help.

Thought I’d drop a quick thread here to do a quick check in on where everyone is at. Mostly wanted to tell Mad Lith (if he’s out there somewhere) I found some of that Lagvulin at Costco for just over $40. That’s a pretty incredible price! Anyhow, I’m not much on here during the summer as summers in Alaska are something you take full advantage of. I hope all our members, past and current, are doing well! Looking forward to re-engaging with you all (yes even you Mongo, PHX and Stinger lol) once the season begins. I’m not sure how it’ll shake out just yet but it’s always fun to watch … regardless. Don't know if you guys have seen this or not. Pretty impressive, albeit unimportant when it comes to how well someone performs on a football field.

I love what every team in our division did this year in the draft. If Harvin can keep his head on right plus Loadholt, the Vikings had a good draft. The Lions went out at got Stafford + the best TE in the draft + who I thought was the best FS. The Bears got Cutler + Moore in the 4th. The Packers got Raji and Matthews, both who can contribute right away in their new 3-4. IMO, our division as a whole had the best draft. Thoughts?

I used to follow Nebraska and sometimes the Univ. of Tennessee in the College ranks but with yet another additon of a player from Vanderbilt, I have decided from now on...I am a loyal follower of the Commodores. In fact I have ordered a shirt and everything. Next season on Saturday I will be paying more attention to the Vandy games so that I know what caliber of players the Bears will be drafting in the future. GO COMMODORES!!!!!

Okay, a friend and I were talking about our picks, and what NFL players we might compare them too. Understand, I am not saying our picks will become, are as good, or will end up like those they are compared to. I might see similar traits, or actually feel the upside is comparable. After thinking about our team as a whole, it's essentially a giant question mark. It's really interesting because there are question marks at literally every position. We have such huge potential with this team, but they need to pull it together. How weird is it that the only really solidified positions are QB, P, K, and maybe RB.
