It was interesting to hear his post game comments. What I noticed mostly was he seems to have very little ego. He basically said "We made better play calls in the second half on O but even then it was up to Cutler to use his legs twice to get the job done." It's refreshing to hear something like that. I recall previous regimes falling over themselves to claim credit for plays that went well. In the long run it'll be interesting to see how well his personality fits into this world of huge dollars and huge egos called the NFL. His whole "I just asked them to be good teammates" bit seemed a little naive. But with that said, hell, sometimes simple truths are the be…

Finally people on the field and hopefully it lasts the whole season. It would be easy to be negative in my assessment of a full season but to happy to see its not called off.

Its been reported that the Vikings have locked up Peterson with a 7 yr deal worth approximately 100 mil and 36 guaranteed. This is a stupid signing for Minnesota. Good for AP but this could make it difficult to resign Forte as he views himself up there just behind CJ2K and AP as far as RB's go. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6952094/...eal-source-says Albert Breer @AlbertBreer Albert Breer RT @ProFootballTalk: Adrian Peterson is signing a seven-year, $100 million deal with $36 million guaranteed, per league source.

For some reason this popped into my brain today and I was surprised there wasn't more mentioned about this during the playoffs. Special teams only seemed to play negative roles in games (SF and BAL) compared to highlights of epic runbacks. For the season, just from watching the games, you knew there would be an impact to most teams with good return games. Almost every other kickoff ended up as a touchback and the Bears would start around the 20 compared to the 30 or 35. So I was curious and looked at some various numbers. None of these are completely conclusive or tied directly to the new rule, but taken into context you can see that the new rule did indeed affe…

Ok.. not Bears related, but we had a discussion at work about college bye weeks. Do the conferences determine the bye weeks for each team? We noticed some teams always have a bye week before facing each other, and some are just random.

  20. A fun what if game. Their draft position is ridiculous this year. What would you do with their two first rounders and three second rounders? No trade downs allowed. It's odd because we have Trubisky, which eliminates QB. 1.1 - Quenton Nelson, OG, ND - Best pick that fits that early. 1.4 - Bradley Chubb, DE/OLB, NCST - Whichever position, there needs to be a Floyd counterpart. 2.33 - Brown/Williams/McGlinchey, OT - Whichever slips to the first pick of the second round. 2.35 - Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU - Who Kevin White should have been. 2.64 - Christian Kirk, WR, TXA&M - Let's solve this WR issue right TF now by doubling up with a guy nicknamed Baby …
