Lots of positions have been addressed, but very few problems have been solved, IMO. I'm interested to see how other people think we should attack the draft, besides of course a BPA approach, but here's what I think I would do: **Trade #3 to Browns for #12, #33, #108 (4th round), #187 (6th round) and a future 3rd. The Browns are trying to recreate the Cowboys - they've spent the offseason beefing up their O-line, now they need their Zeke, but have to get ahead of the Jaguars and Jets to get Fournette, so they do. 1) OJ Howard, TE, Alabama - Given Glennon the help he needs part 1. I balk at this a bit because I know this is a deep TE draft, but he's obviously t…

With a night a sleep, looking back at the game on Game Pass, here were my observations: 1. The team should've been more prepared with 11 DAYS to prep for Minnesota. This is on Fox. Game plan for the most part was crap, this is on Loggains. Very predictable. Outside of the trick play for 2pt conversion and fake punt, not much to like. Don't get me started on the penalties. How about those timeouts? Would've been nice to have some at the end of the game. Instead, we used one AFTER MIN used one? How does that happen? 2. Trubisky is the real deal, and Glennon was only part of the problem in the previous losses. Trubisky's ability to move in the pocket, and extend pl…

1. The defense was borderline dominant, led by Hicks, Fuller, and Amos. Jackson, Trevathan, and Callahan also had great games. Literally, the only knock on the defense was Jones, who seemed lost for a bunch of plays (which is somewhat understandable considering his play time). Defense looked much better with Trevathan back. Amos' play is going to make us forget we have Demps. If he can keep it up, we all of a sudden have a great Safety duo in Amos and Jackson. There is not much more you can say about Hicks other than the dude comes to play and earns his check every game. Love it. Floyd was not as visible this game, but does seem to get held on every play. Fuller is playi…

While I wasn't able to find an online stream till late in the second quarter and thus missed the bears 3 first half TD's I'll comment on what I saw. Offensively. We are inconsistent, when things are clicking we look great but we seem to hit a snag, be it a bad play, and the rest of the drive loses it's flow. We keep wanting to run Forte inside but don't get the push in the middle to give him a chance, he's not the type of back that can maul up the middle and make his own hole. Forte's at his best when he can use his vision make cuts. If we can't open holes up the middle then we need to stop running him there. I thought Jay looked pretty sharp, made go…

I've slept on it. Came to work and it's still crap. So here we go.... - Knox' clock is running out IMO. Drops, cutting routes off, gator-arming passes, bitching everytime and crying for a flag. I know this has become the norm, but dammit make a statement before you try for preferential treatment. I watched the Texans game and Andre Johnson was mugged and no flag...and no over dramatic flailing of the arms, battering the refs or any of that shit. By no means am I comparing the two, but whining and pouting will not get what you want. - If we get an actual #1 receiver, I think Sanzenbacher will be a good slot receiver. - If anyone should know the damn snap c…

With the June 1 cap savings applied, the Bears now have over $15M in cap space. So there is a good chance they pick up a few more FAs in this class over the next few weeks. It will be interesting to see where they target. I hope they go after a RG at least.

So now that the season is prematurely over, what next? There were two moments in last nights game that made me go ?!?!. One was the declined penalty for ‘running into the kicker’ against LA. And the shit Nagy pulled late in the game when he pulled Trubiksy. Was he injured like you claim he was or ???? If in fact he was injured as you claim, and he ‘wasn’t right’ throughout the game; why then? And to put Miller in that situation ... just all around pathetic. To be a Bears fan is tough enough but to have to air the mess that is our current team on national TV is purely disgraceful.

To start things off, great game last night! You can tell what a well built team looks like. Watching the game from our perspective, tells me that we are not ready yet. When it comes to conference championships and Superbowls, the defenses are amped up. The DB's become assassins and the pass rush is relentless. Our team needs became more clarifyed to me. And I didn't like it. Defensively, we need two more guys that can rush the passer as starters and one to be situational. We currently have one. After that, I'm good with the linebackers and secondary, as safeties are easy to find. On to the offense, OMG we need help. We have DJ Moore as our only stud. As we'…

I know most media outlets had the Bears at 6-10 or 7-9 going into the season, but that is a tall task now with a 2-0 start. Things would have to really go south to end the season with anything less than 8 wins. That's good news. Despite being one of 11 2-0 teams, the Bears crack the top 15 in only two of the national power rankings I could find. NFL.com ranks the Bears 19th, USA Today 19th, Bleacher Report 18th, ESPN 17th, Yahoo Sports 15th, and SI.com ranks us 14th (the highest of the few I looked at). Right now the Bears have played the 2nd easiest schedule besides the Bills. Yet you will see the Bills are being ranked in the top 10 and sometimes even t…

Before things get going tomorrow, what do you think the Bears will actually do in FA (not what you want them to do or what you would do)? Here's my guess: DISCLAIMER: I am not a capologist, so I have no idea how realistic this is. Sorry. Chase Daniel, QB - New OCs tend to bring someone in who knows the system, and it's not like anyone was impressed with Jason Campbell last season. Plus, considering Cutler seems to be hurt at least once every year, Daniel might see this as a chance to get in some games, which he hasn't been able to do much in NO. Sammie Stroughter, WR - I expect the Bears will add some low risk/high reward WR with the loss of Knox and Hest…

Post your dream draft. Don't make it completely unrealistic, but allow yourself to dream about the what-ifs that happen every year in the NFL draft. Here's my dream draft: 1-16: Duke Robinson, OG, OU (I don't mix words. The Bears need OL, and with an improved OL the rest of the offensive players will be better, including the WRs that everyone seems to hate.) 2-48: Phil Loadholt, OT, OU (With the OG position taken care of, the Bears still need at the very least a OT, if not another OG. Getting Duke's teammate would be huge.) 3-81: Mark Sanchez, QB, USC (Projected as a 2nd to 3rd rounder, this would be perfect for the Bears. If Bradford, Stafford, Tebow, a…

Now that the draft is over, do the Bears make any free agent moves? Any guys on other teams at QB or WR in danger of being cut because of the additions made by their teams? I was thinking maybe Josh Johnson would be the odd man out in Tampa Bay, but it may end up being Griese. The Giants, Dolphins, Jaguars, and Browns all made a couple of early picks at WR, but it's hard to imagine the Bears wanting any of the guys who would get cut (with the possible exception of Ernest Wilford in Miami). I can't help but think with so many young WRs on this roster, and such a young offense in general, you need a strong veteran presence to help move them along. The only veteran offensive…

*based off of Chicago signing nobody in FA* 1. Lane Johnson, T, Oklahoma --I'm not a huge fan, but Johnson will be the best OT prospect left. He probably needs 2-3 years development to be an NFL LT. 2. Kyle Long, G, Oregon --Great bloodlines and a nasty player. One day, he might be an OT. Perfect. 4. Kevin Reddick, MLB, North Carolina --Reddick had a good career. His last year started slow but ended fast. He ended the year with 74 tackles, 6 TFL, 2 sacks, 5 PBU, and 1 INT. 5. Jasper Collins, WR, Mount Union --Small, lighting quick WR out of a school that shockingly produces good WR's. 6. Brian Schwenke, C, California --Center depth. Garza's contract is…

1. Great game for Cutler. He improvised when he was rushed and made big play after big play. If Williams and Hester catch those passes, Cutler likely ends the game with 300 yards. 2. Bennett truly is a missing link. When he's out there, the offense is good. 3. Forte will be fine. Last night was the exception, not the rule. I expect him to have a huge game against Detroit. 4. The OL keeps playing better. They had their bad moments, but giving up no sacks in Philadelphia primetime is impressive. I'd sit Carimi until Louis really struggles or gets hurt. 5. Melton didn't have any sacks, but I counted 3 or 4 TFL for him. He really answered the bell. 6.…

1. Cutler was terrific. It's amazing what he can do with more time to throw. 2. Hester was awesome. It's jekyl and hyde for him- last week he played like an idiot and this week he was amazing, both at WR and on ST. I hope his chest is alright. We all know how bad chest injuries can be, just ask Earl Bennett. 3. Chris Williams, from what I saw live, is turning into a pretty good OG. 4. Louis and Spencer on the right side is a good combo, for now. Who goes out of the lineup when Carimi comes back? 5. The OL, as a whole, needs to cut down on false starts. They had a couple more today. There's no excuse to have a few of them at home. 6. Are people st…

1. Cutler has to play better against Philly if they want a big win there. He had a lot of passes that were iffy. 2. Roy Williams is starting to play better. That's a great sign. It was good to see Knox get involved today also. 3. It's now evident more than ever that J'Marcus Webb is the weak link on the OL. Everyone on the OL had a decent game except for him. He gets beat way too much. 4. The Bears got some pressure from the front 4, but it was never overwhelming. Does Henry Melton even play for the Bears anymore? Jesus. And where the f*** was Paea today? I barely noticed him. 5. Martz needs to get his head out of his ass. Stop throwing when you're up …

(short and sweet this time) 1. In terms of the offense, there isn't much to say. It's hard to judge because they were pretty much handed a 34-6 lead. 2. The OL, though, had some rough patches. There were too many times in the 3rd quarter where Cutler had to run and improvise. 3. Hey Martz, where were the rollouts this week? 4. The defense was phenomenal. There isn't much more to say. Peppers, Jennings, and Tillman were great. 5. The Lions truly are a dirty team. If you combine all of the fines from this game for Detroit, it'll probably come out to $110k (Suh, Fairley, maybe Stafford). 6. San Diego will be a tough game, but if the secondary p…
