Sounds like the D line gained some insight. "Stephen Paea coming out & saying he's learned more in 3 weeks than his whole NFL career should speak volumes about this new coaching staff" Also seen Brock Vereen got first team reps at FS and looked good. Conte better be paying attention.

This offseason I'm most curious about our new defensive scheme. Reading this article, along with Bostic's quotes, makes me wonder what differences we'll be seeing after a nearly a decade of the Tampa 2. Some of the board members have experience or knowledge of football well beyond my limitations. I'd like to hear thoughts on what changes we'll be seeing in our run fits (to use their term), or should be looking for players to do as I expect execution won't be perfect early on. Any ideas on what our LB assignments are now versus the old "get in your gap" of the Lovie 2? http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...ml#.U5Mu2MY8icM

  5. I'm getting confirmation by the weekend. I think tickets were $81...but I'd be willing to take a bit less. If you are at all interested, please send me a personal note and/or a reply here. I think the seats are in the end zone. 4 seats all together. I just want to see if any of the fans here want a stab at it before I contact some other folks... I can't make it to Chicago that day sadly and want the tix to go to good fans!

Just noticed this, must just be a camp body. I thought we had depth? Must not like the back of the depth chart for OL.

With 2 grown sons with lives of their own it was extremely cool to hangout with them at Soldier's Field Sat Nite. The practice was crisp and high-paced. Looked like a lot of work was done on working the edges and what looked like a turn in slant that almost resembles a Wr screen. The WR that is on the roster that I believe should get a shot at the spot that Marquiss Wilson was holding is Spurlock he looked decent in the practice Sat Nite. I'm not surprised that wilson got hurt because he was on the field for a lot of drills including special teams. Speaking of special teams Pat O'Donnell does have a big leg and averaged 60 yds on kicks but was concentrating a lot on direc…

  9. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/...pect-and-trust/ Marc Trestman wants to create a culture of respect and trust Posted by Darin Gantt on August 6, 2014, 4:13 PM EDT Martellus Bennett, Marc Trestman AP The Bears didn’t attach a time frame to tight end Marcellus Bennett’s suspension for slamming a teammate to the ground in practice, so today was just another day in day-to-day. But Bears coach Marc Trestman said Wednesday the goal of the conversations about sitting his starting tight end was deeper than a simple punishment for conduct detrimental to the team. “The overriding philosophy is to get to know each other, to develop levels of tru…

In 2001 I was at the game the Bears clinched the division by beating Jax. It was damn cold in early January in Soldier Field. Anyway, in the second half of the game Keith Traylor, a big defensive lineman, intercepted a Mark Brunnell pass and took it almost to the house. It may have been the best use of RUMBLIN' STUMBLIN' BUMBLIN' in ESPN's history. I recall it as knowing at that moment the game was over but I know Jax had some time after that and just didn't do anything. Jauron was the head coach and I thought we had something good building. The win that day combined with a Packers loss gave us the division, a bye and home field against what ended up being the Eagl…

We're a couple weeks away from the start of the season. I'm curious how our division opponents are doing. As I scan around various websites when I find something noteworthy I'll post the link. It'd be nice of others add in as well. Today it is Nick Fairley making headlines for his eating habits. Actually it seems like there is much more going on than just a man who likes to eat. Either way, he's on their second string and on a Dline that lost Willie Young who appears to be a good player so far. For a team that has invested three #1 picks at DT and then DE they are planning on needing to blitz their linebackers a lot more this season to get pressure. I'm go…

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11431868...cinnati-bengals Tough runner who might be a good fit given our overall lack of depth behind Forte. Karey came on strong and is looking good but I would think BJG would be an upgrade over everyone else and in reality a pretty nice compliment when compared to the backs we have on our roster. He has roughly 1700 rushing yards the past 2 years.

  15. Started by Alaskan Grizzly,

Was reading an article recently where allegedly Jim Harbaugh is "losing the locker room" in SF. This despite in his first three years he's compiled a 41-14 record. Allegedly one of the things that upset players was that he had the audacity to have the team scrimmage his brothers team this year in Baltimore. Of course there are a few other what appear minor issues the players don't like but I mean really? Is this not the pinnacle of self serving pathetic? On a team with a proven winning coach and they still snivel. Sounds like what happened with Singletary before that although his demand for winning didn't translate to nearly as many wins. (Do they just not like ex-C…

#1 Trips right, Jeffery stops and actually drifts back. Forte goes up the gut and into the flats. Marshall and Bennett stay in routes. Interesting to see the defenders bite on Jeffery and Forte and leave Marshall and Bennett. Great pocket throughout. I would've like to have seen Forte turn the other way and spread the defenders out more. In all 4 pics, Cutler is zeroed in on Bennett/Marshall. In #4 you can see he is almost "all arming" the ball.
