Buffalo released veteran OG Quinton Spain. He excels at protecting the QB (allowed ZERO sacks in 2019) Struggles in run blocking. Being the Offense leans towards the pass, and few OGs are strong in both the run & pass, would it be worth it for the Bears to consider this guy? He's young. A veteran with experience. I say yes. Bills release Quinton Spain seven months after signing veteran OL to extension

Jaquizz Rodgers was placed on the season ending IR. Bears signed home run hitting Antone Smith. I liked Quiz, but I wanna see more Langford....and Antone Smith could add a a speed element were lacking. Think D'Anthony Thomas and the way he scored on the Bears yesterday.

Cedric Benson told reporters he would have 1,800 yards right now if he was running through the holes that Matt Forte has been running through in Chicago. He has a better chance at 1,800 DWIs. Wherever he goes, the holes seem to close much more quickly. Using his career 3.6 yards per carry, it would take the delusional Benson exactly 500 carries to reach his lofty projections.

For all the fans that the sky is falling, get your thumb out of your mouth and be real. The fact is were not a good team or a bad team. I thought from the beginning of the season we would be 7-9 to 9-7 and looking bad against the Packers havent changed that . Injuries have already affected us. Brandon Marshall is the catalyst to this offense, and until he is healthy we will sputter. Two OL out, the others have filled in well. Two DL out which has caused a lack of pass rush which put our DBs in jeopardy. We have filled Peanuts role but where the problem now is the nickelback spot . Our offense will give us victories and defense will take some away. I…

  7. We've already discussed this here on the forum! Interesting read, even though as of late, Morrissey's been more Mariotti... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...,6568918.column Lovie Smith inanities deserve to be reported Related Is Lovie Smith on speaking terms with the truth? The plain truth and Lovie Smith are not always on speaking terms. Is that good for the team? Yes, if you can't say anything nice, how can you fill up a news conference? No, coaches should be critics (and critics think they could be coaches). Truthfully, I don't care what Lovie Smith says. Bears players support coach Smith Topics Super Bowl Ph…

    Obviously the passing game was a little slow to get started, but has picked up the last 3 weeks with Caleb averaging 275 yds per game, if he can stay near 250 per game, there is a good chance 2-3 receivers break 1K. I don't think Allen is going to do it. Same with Velus or Scott. Thru 5 weeks: 1. Moore - 294, needs 59 y/g to hit 1K 2. Kmet - 219, needs 65 y/g to hit 1K 3. Odunze - 206, needs 66 y/g to hit 1K 4. Swift - 165, needs 70 y/g to hit 1K 5. Allen - 81, needs 77 y/g to hit 1K 6. Everett - 22, needs 82 y/g to hit 1K 7. Velus - 8, needs 83 y/g to hit 1K 8. Scott - 0, needs 84 y/g to hit 1K Swift is 13th amongst RBs in yards from scrimmag…

Decided to really focus on him tonight and I'm not overly impressed. Doesn't run hard all the time and seems to be coming out on 3rd down, which I don't get if he's a top pick.

https://m.imgur.com/gallery/ivp1i I don't know how long this will stay up but it is a pretty cool look at how teams rank players. They nailed a bunch of evals but also whiffed big on a few, ie Antonio Brown and Chancellor. Not Bears related but I thought it was cool nonetheless. Bears tie in, check out eval on Claussen.

First and foremost I have to say that there is something different with this coaching staff. Week to week I keep seeing improvement in the quality of play, both individual and team (i.e. being in the right position). As of right now we have the 7th ranked defense in terms of yards given up per game. That is surprising to me. The offense is way back in the low 20's but has still been productive with Cutler at the helm. Normally when you get new schemes either offense or defense there are learning curves and mistakes but there are also plays that you run that other teams aren't prepared for. Around the 4th game is when the surprise starts to wear off and teams f…
