I was just looking back at the schedule in retrospect, and damn this is going to be a rough year no matter what coaches are hired. The Bears have games against 3 of the toughest divisions in the NFL, NFC East, AFC East, and their own. Half of their games will be against teams that made it into the play offs this year. They of course play the Packers and Vikings twice. They will host the Eagles, Patriots, and the Jets. Plus, they will travel to the Cowboys this year. I'd hate to call the Lions a give me game. They have been improving, but I'm glad the Bears play them twice. The Bills and Carolina are some what disfunctional, but still pose some what of a challen…

When I mean by cheap is someone under 3 mil that could help us out. I want to throw out the first name; Brandon Moore-OG-Jets it is 33 and had a great year. I think he could be a Ruben Brown type that could help us for a couple of years. The Jets are 26 mil over the salary cap, so I think we can grab him here.

Gene Chamberlain put together a really good summary of our roster depth. This is not a by-position analysis, he focus on the bottom third of the roster where you get your special teams players. This is one aspect of what Poles did this offseason that is easily overlooked but I think this might become a strength of this team. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/supporting-bears-cast-looking-stronger

New draft order; same ole draft strategy. These are all 3 round mocks with the goal to gain thirteen prospects between this and the extra picks I gain in 2025. All drafts must have a top flight prospect and ideally an extra number one in 2025.

There is a good chance that the Bears top 4 franchise receiving leaders are currently on the team. Johnny Morris is #1 in Receiving Yards with 5059. DJ would need 2.5 more years with his average numbers to surpass Morris as the franchise leader. Then you have Odunze, who as a first round pick will more than likely get a 2nd contract. If he gets one, and just say he puts up his rookie numbers annually, he would surpass Morris halfway thru Year 6. Then you have Loveland and Burden. Both have the highest pedigrees of Receivers that the Bears have drafted (besides Odunze lol) since Alshon (3rd in franchise). A wild note about Alshon, if he stayed with the Bears, he…

The new name some bears fans want is Dexter Lawrence.. He had 1/2 sack last year. The next two years he will get 54 mil at 29 and the reason he wants to be traded is he wants more money. He is a better player than any DT we have but at 6'4" and 330. Ran a 5 05 40. Not sure that fits the new speed scheme.

Looks like Gabriel, Nichols, and Larsen all practiced today. Trubisky threw and did not have a pitch count, so that's a good sign. Nagy didn't have much on Hicks, so I am assuming he is gone until mid-December at the earliest. Long definitely confirmed to be on IR for the season.

https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/chicago-bears-53-man-roster-projection Here is a roster projection that I mainly agree with but for a few exceptions. I dont think they keep Foles, as much as they have to pay him, they will need the roster spot. They show us keeping Nall, but why? Lots of talent in this group , they will need the roster spot. I think they dont keep Joel Iggy and instead keep Josh Woods, a better ST player. The extra two roster spots go to S Jordon Lucas and another CB in Duke Shelly. Both play STs and Shelly could be starting at NB with Vidor or Trufant starting at the other CB spot opposite Johnson.

Don't shoot the messenger. http://bearswire.usatoday.com/2017/09/20/s...hrough-2-weeks/ Interesting that Whitehair, Sitton, and Massie are well below average. Having said all that, it is PFF, so The team needs Long on the field. And the offense desperately needs two tackles. I'd be willing to be Leno isn't much above the others.

Practice Squad fodder until he is 30. He will be competing for a roster spot, has speed, but will be 25 this season.

https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1171885239649624064 Never heard of J.P. Holtz but the TE position was so bad last week that it makes sense to try something. I hate to lose Abdullah because he seemed to play well and earned his spot over Bullard. Hopefully he's back on the practice squad tomorrow. Holtz..he's big and slow but can catch so he is not a backup for Burton. There is no way we're keeping 3 TEs of this type. It's possible this is just a one week tryout and the Bears took advantage of the fact he had just been on the active roster. I think that makes him easier to cut versus when you sign someone directly off a practice squad but I could be wron…

This morning I was scrolling through nfl.com and they reminded me that Mitch is the worst in the league who’ve started a game this year so let’s look forward to our next play caller. Here’s a few names that should be available in this years draft. Gone: Tua, Herbert, Burrows Potential NFL starting QBs that may be available Mond, Bryant, Hurts, Francois

This is interesting and while it's PFF it's still telling that Daniels improved quite a bit back at his natural spot. Whitehair too is a better OG. Maybe instead of focusing on drafting a RG early we should be looking to draft OC and move Whitehair to RG? https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-offensive-line-rankings-following-2019-regular-season A silver lining for the group came from James Daniels after he switched over to left guard. Daniels’ 73.9 overall grade at left guard ranked fifth among all qualifiers at the position. With that said....this guy has a little Quenton Nelson style in the way he blocks.

I am hearing reports that Bears scouts are really hard and heavy on the Offensive Linemen. They are also looking at TE, Adam Trautman, from Dayton. Just looking at his tape, he is nothing like Shaheen, way more athletic and a better blocker. He is who we wanted Shaheen to be. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001098624/article/2020-senior-bowl-day-2-justin-herbert-sizzles-bears-eye-te The Bears also met with Purdue tight end Brycen Hopkins and Vanderbilt’s Jared Pinkney earlier this week.

A very interesting press conference from Fields today, with a lot of points. In a nutshell, Fields said that he's being coached too much, and needs to play from his instincts more. At first this sounded like making excuses, or throwing the coaches under the bus. Don't be surprised if that's the narrative that sports writers take from this press conference, and it blows up into a media thing. But if you listen closely, especially as he clarifies what he means, he's saying that he himself is thinking too much and trying too hard to do everything the way the coaches want him to. And it's not so much that they're wrong, as that when the reality of the play happens, …
