Bearstalk

Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. Hroniss Grasu is now signed, making the Chicago Bears the first team again to get all draft picks under contract. Grasu signed earlier Friday and will compete for the starting Center spot. Great to get this done, Grasu can start taking the reins as he did in Oregon in leading the oline. Kyle Long and Grasu will be a grueling dual for years in the run game. Both are agressive maulers. Great work Cliff Stein once again and great pick Pace.

  2. AM 1000 reporting that Goldman and Fabaluje didn't finish drills today at mini camp. I must admit that it is extremely humid and hot here today and that may have been a factor for these 2 big boys.

  6. Spent the evening and I layed out the Bears current roster with their contracts expiration dates to get a look at needs. As I see it now, if no major injury takes place, the Bears may sit on the remaining cap to lock up Alshon Jeffery. Depending how the season plays out, the Bears will have major needs in the following: Defense 3-4 DE - McDonald, Jenkins, and Ratliff contract expires. That will leave Furguson, Sutton, Washington, and Dunn NT- Depth will be needed behind Goldman CB-Fuller on one end, Jennings I see as a nickel leaves finding a long term man cover CB a big need S-Mundys contract expires, depth behind Vereen and Amos will be a need OLB is locked …

Who do you believe is the Bears all-time worst draft pick? My choice - Bob Sapp. He was selected in the 3rd round of the 1997 draft (69th overall). He didn't even make it out of training camp before he was cut. Give me some names!!! Peace

As the owner's meetings get underway in San Francisco it seems clear we're going to get a change to the extra point rules. I'm curious which option folks prefer. I like the Competition Committee plan 14b the best. If it's a competitive play IMO the defense should be equally allowed to score as the offense does. I think the Eagles plan 14b, 2 point conversion to the 1yd line, is making the 2 point conversion too easy and sort of defeats the purpose of making this a more competitive aspect of the game. I do agree that a safety, even on an extra point (try), should be 2 points as it always is. However, getting a safety on any try is extremely unlikely so …

m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2462860-rising-nfl-stars-to-keep-an-eye-on-in-2015 Yes, it's bleacher report, an no this isn't really a surprise but times are slow so I'll throw it out there. I tend to agree. I know people don't like the PFF stats, but they are there FWIW. I remember a few years back I brought up the pressure productivity stats and people questioned it because a guy named Jerry Hughes was near the top of that list. A lot of people were like who the hell is Jerry Hughes, and that list lost all credibility with Jerry Hughes being on it. 2 years later Jerry Hughes has racked up 19.5 sacks. Those aren't great numbers or anything but still, it sho…

This is a slow time where, I sometimes feel dead and bloated, so might as well throw some comments out there to stir the pot. We all have our opinions about all that has been done by the Bears this offseason. New coaches and GM--most people are in agreement that we have upgraded the decision makers to run our team. Pace is suppose to be an young and ascending personal manager of which I like what he has done so far, but truth be told, we will know more of his talents 3 years from now. Fox, Fangio, Gase, ect. --the coaches we can see past history of being successful at their jobs and I think Fangio in the #1 defensive coordinator in the league . It will show…

I was looking for something else and came across this full game video of the 2010 playoff game against Seattle. This was essentially Cutler's last good playoff game. He throws for 2 TDs, runs for 2 more, and doesn't throw a single INT. For those interested:

I just read an article on this kid and looked up some info, he had 33 PBU and 13 INT in his career. He didnt get drafted because of his small stature. He is 5'9" 183 but is an explosive player. 11' broad jump 43" vertical leap 7.00 3 cone drill The kid needs to get stronger but has all the skills to be our slot corner http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2476297...okie-gem/page/7

So while reading about Ray "dipshit" McDonalds departure from the team I started seeing commentary about the possibility of Jets DLman Mo Wilkerson being dangled as trade bait. So far the Jets have publicly said they intend to keep him but he's apparently in a contract year, holding out AND they just drafted Leonard Williams. Some of the concerns obviously are his demand for a big contract and that our team has other needs than just DL. But... Is Wilkerson impactful enough to make a difference to the new defense that Fangio is working to implement? And could Martellus Bennett being offered in a trade to the Jets sweeten the deal? http://m.bleacherreport.com/arti…
