The Packers are switching over to the 3-4 defense and after watching ESPNs update on Packer's camp and listening to their chat about how the DEs and LBs have to change roles somewhat I got to thinking how our offense will fare against them. I view the 3-4 as more of a stout run defense that gets it's pass rush in part because of the opportunities to bring a 4th or 5th pass rusher from multiple locations. Pass coverage with 4 LB has some limitations so the pass rush is key. They've got personnel issues with guys like Kampman, the Packer's best pass rusher, who now lines up as a LB. Which means he'll have to cover someone from time to time. On our side we're …

This draft seems realistic to me as far as the Bears view players and needs. 2-Johnson/DE/Georgia Tech 3-Beckwith/LB/LSU 4-Barden/WR/Cal Poly 5a-Turner/WR/USC 5b-Hamlin/FS/Clem 6-Brewster/OT/Ball State 7a-Fletcher/CB/Iowa 7b-McCall/FB/Ala They view defense a priority, they think they can get DBs in later rounds, and draft a couple of WRs.

I always surf the web to find stories about the Bears and found one that does that for me. Topix.com/Chicago Bears ( I dont know how to link it) It searches the web for any stories on the Bears and posts them everyday. It makes it easy for me.

Bear weather: The kickoff temperature the past two games at Soldier Field has been 19 degrees against the Jaguars and 28 degrees versus the Saints. But that probably will seem balmy Monday, when the high temperature in Chicago is expected to reach only seven degrees. The Bears have won nine straight home games when the kickoff temperature has been 32 degrees or lower. Those wins have come over the Jaguars and Saints this season, the Packers and Saints in 2007, the Vikings, Seahawks (divisional playoffs) and Saints (NFC championship) in 2006 and the Packers and Falcons in 2005. The Bears are 9-1 under coach Lovie Smith in such contests, only losing to the Texans in 20…

Did anyone else hear the post-game comments about it being "Bear weather" and that the Bears ran the ball well? I'm paraphrasing, but he said something like, "Well, it's Bear weather, and I think that when you have a game like that, you have to run. We had to run, we did run. I think we had about 38 rushes, and any time you do that it's a good thing." Does he really think we are that stupid? I was at the game, and let me tell you...it was disgraceful how poorly the Bears played. To only beat the Rams by 8 points is unreal. There were countless discipline problems, again, and the offense was ridiculous.

  10. Last year around this time, most of the experts pre-drafts had us taking QB Andre Woodson at this time. Of course, by the time the draft rolled around: 1. We'd already given new contracts to Kyle Orton AND Rex Grossman making the idea of drafting a QB at #14 improbable. 2. Andre Woodson had been bad enough in the combine that he slipped to the 6th round. How the hell does a guy go from being projected at #14 overall to #198??? While I can't wait for the April 25-26th draft, I just wanted to rant for a moment that I hate all the pre-combine speculation . . . and I'm bored and pissed that the Vikings are winning in the second quarter.

Okay I don't know about you but I really like the white on whites! We should do away with the navy pants. Same goes for when were playing at home, go with the navy on navy! We look so much sharper with those jerseys on, what do you guys think?

  13. I don't think I have ever been this unexcited about Bears playoff football. This is a 5-win team that fell out of a dumpster fire to make the playoffs. I would be shocked if the Bears look any different than they did against the Packers. Saints 31-13

Reports are out there saying we might bring in Ball. I like it if he's brought in to be the backup. I wanna see Langford get a legit shot to start. I do like Ball though. His first year he averages 4.7 YPC which is pretty good. Sucked last year, but which is the real Ball? If he's the 4.7 YPC guy he was his rookie season he and Langford could be a good duo beyond this year. Ball is still just 24 years old and I'm shocked he's not on a team somewhere.

  15. Emery pretty much confirms what we already knew - with these two moves, the Bears get a lot of draft flexibility and are more likely than they otherwise would have been to trade down. I hear the 49ers have 14 draft picks - might be a good place to start. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,4807079.story

  16. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...andon-marshall/ Bears “exploring trade options” for wide receiver Brandon Marshall Posted by Darin Gantt on March 5, 2015, 11:32 AM EST Brandon Marshall AP ‘Tis the season for moving on from bad contracts, and the Bears are no exception. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are “exploring trade options” for veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Whether they’re merely answering the phone, or putting out word in hopes of making it ring remains to be seen, but it’s clear there’s some disconnect between the new regime of General Manager Ryan Pace/coach John Fox and the guy who got an…

Here we go, the loser is pretty much eliminated from playoff contention. After 2 straight losses, we now are projected to win 7 games and only have an 18% chance to make playoffs. A third straight loss in the conference would pretty much eliminate us. This is a must win.

  18. Started by adam,

Most odds makers have us as 7 point underdogs. What a perfect time to totally redeem ourselves. I think people are giving NE too much credit, they have wins against Minnesota, Oakland, Cincy, Buffalo, and the Jets. None of those wins were really impressive, and they barely beat OAK and NYJ. They lost to MIA and KC. They won't have their leading rusher (Ridley) and their leader in sacks (Jones). Controlling Gronk seems to be the key. On defense, they are #1 against the pass, only allowing 209 per game, but they are near the bottom against the run. This is going to be an epic win and get us back into things going into the bye before we slice some che…
