Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. Of course, we all probably knew he was gone, but it appears that the Browns want to make it known. Maclin to the Browns Don't you wish every team before the Bears would do this so we could just get down to debating about the left over players?

Okay, to hell w/ the draft. Instead, how about we: Send Denver our 1st & 3rd, and future 1st/2nd conditional pick for Cutler. Send our 2nd to Az for Boldin. After the draft, send Atlanta our 2010 2nd round pick for Tyson Clabo, a damn good RT w/ size (6'6 330), youth (27 years old) and experience (I think he has started every game the last two years). Sure, we are giving up a boat load of picks, yet at the same time, we get a franchise QB, a franchise WR and a damn good RT (which allows us to move Omiyale back to OG). Still have that conditional 3rd rounder this year we can use on a FS. Hey, better than spending our picks on future busts

PFT is reporting that since Nicks tweeked his hamstring at the combine he has been unable to workout and has gained around 15lbs. Besides not working out, he must be eating a bunch of twinkies as well. Otherwise, there is no way you gain that much weight in that short of time. Same article says he has already lost some of the weight and has a workout scheduled with the Bears and Fins.

I was reading Brad Briggs and he talked to an insider type and that person thought that is the order there draft will fall. Now of course that depends on who is there, but sounds like what they would think as an importance order. If that is the case, name your three picks. Britton/OT Byrd/FS Barden/WR/ Cal Poly

I read on a earlier thread that people were wondering if JA was not doing anything in FA because it would set Lovie up for the chopping blocks and save his behind. Well i was thinking about that and thought could JA be trying to get Lovie Fired so he could bring in Gruden? Are JA and Gruden tight? Please don't freak out Im just throwing it out there because i am sooo bored with all the "no" action lately with Bears news.

Wanted to tell of something that happened last night. I was up at the club (Lifetime Fitness) and there was this guy in the locker room pissed off because his phone was just stolen. He was really going to town on the guy who works there. I thought I recognized him, and asked at the front desk if he was who I thought he was. Sure enough. It was Michael Irvin. The playmaker himself. I have to say, after reading story after story, he is about as big of a jerk as I always read. The locker room has, you guessed it, lockers. You insert your membership card and pull out the key. So lockers are free and secure, but Mr. Irvin didn't feel the need to use one, and I …

Monday 23, the NFL owners will meet in California. Usually they award the compensatory picks during the second day of the meetings, so it won't be long until we find out if we get a 3rd or 4th from Berrian. We will possibly get 2 extra 7th's also from the loss of Gilmore and Ayebadajo. This meeting will also be interesting to see if any info leaks out about how the owners will deal the the CBA and possible work stoppage. From what I've heard, they are planning on gaining more control that was lost to the players union in the last CBA. Hopefully out of it all, we have football and the put a cap on rookie contract.

  14. After a disappointing last season I see no reason to get hyped about this year so far. I expected just little more FA signings for more depth and at least 2 starters before draft day. I really believed that we would have signed a free safety with more experience, leadership and pro bowl caliber type. The same goes with an olinemen with the same qualities. I guess we could still pick some Fa's after the draft to fill in where we need too. Maybe the grab a handfull of shit and throw it against the wall to see what sticks theory is going on here. Nfo maybe had it right when he posted about Angelo short sheeting Lovie like he did Jauron. I normally don't agr…

Here is a good article from the Sun-Times, if anyone hasn't read it yet (especially if you are one complaining about our FA) it is a good read. You may not agree with it but I do. The Bears are not the only team playing the waiting game in FA. Even the Packers, who had a miserable year and are trying to retool their defence to a 3-4, has only signed one player in FA and he certainly was not a household name. None of us know what is planned, but I would be willing to lay a wager with anyone who wants to do so that we will see our needs filled before the start of camp in July and that we will be a force in the NFC this year. Free agency isn't where Bears shop

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,7151782.story ===================== Offensive tackles: None of the tackles were too far off the acceptable mark. Andre Smith of Alabama scored 17, which is borderline. Faring much better was Arizona's Eben Britton with 31. Others: Eugene Monroe of Virginia had 24, Jason Smith of Baylor 23 and Michael Oher of Mississippi 19. Wide receivers: NFL teams would like for receivers' test scores to be about 18, but several of the top prospects fell below that mark. Michael Crabtree of Texas Tech scored 15, Darrius Heyward-Bey of Maryland scored 14, Percy Harvin of Florida scored 12 and Hakeem Nicks of North Carolina scored…

Chargers are shopping Kaseem Osgood/WR - 28- 6 year pro. He must have some limitations but is a big guy 6' 5" 220 and has been all pro as a special teamer for the last few years. There are several good receivers in SD and he wants playing time. They are looking for a low round draft pick.

Comparing Nicks to Bennett, they are both similiar. Bennett seems like the better blocker and Nicks is a little more physical. Don't get me wrong, I like and would want Nicks on the Bears, but if he is close enough to Bennett were they would both make good #2's in the NFL, why jam this position up with another WR with a same set of skills. Just like Maclin's skill sets says he would make an excellant slot WR, where Hester should be. This is where I think if we do go WR, we may take Darius Hayward-Bey and I'll also lay out his profile. DHB is raw and will take some work, but is he raw due to a poor QB play and bad offensive system? If Maclin resembles Hester too much…
