Hey, its a bye week, so how about a little fun. Here is how I see some of our players (offense) finishing the year statistically. Orton: 3,900 yards - 24 TDs - 8 picks. Forte: 1,150 rushing yards - 11 TDs - 56 catchs - 480 receiving yards - 2 TDs. Olsen - 60-900-6 (I think he is on the verge of taking over as a lead receiver) Clark - 45-525-2 Lloyd - 60-750-4 Davis - 50-660-3 I think our run game is going to continue to struggle. Forte may have a good/big game here and there, but I think he will continue to struggle on the ground, due in largest part to our OL. Meanwhile, Orton is going to have to take it to the air much as he has…

This is the ay I see it breaking down: Chicago: Currently 4-3 Week 8: Bye Week 9: DET – W – There is no way we lose this one Week 10: TEN – L – I hope I am wrong here but they are looking mighty good Week 11: @GBP – L – Assuming Rogers is healthy at GB I see a loss Week 12: @STL – W – I see no problems here as long as we contain Jackson Week 13: @MIN – W – If we can beat them with no starting DBs healthy, we can do it again Week 14: JAX – W – Jacksonville is on the slide Week 15: NOS – W – At home I feel we can take them – they have NO defense Week 16: GBP – W – Crucial game that gives us the lead in our division …

Noots’ Notes-Game 7: 48-41 Win over Minnesota By Michael Nudo The Bears (4-3) treated their home crowd to an exciting 48-41 shootout with the Vikings on Sunday. Yet again, the offense put up big numbers while the defense held on as much as they could. This time, the defense was able to force a few turnovers. A few fortuitous bounces the special teams capitalized upon helped the cause as well. The Bears go into the bye week with a share of first place in the NFC North, and have an opportunity to get some of their injured players back on the field. Zack Bowman puts the game on ice (AP Photo/M. Spencer Green). OFFENSE QuarterbackKyle Orton (21-32-283,…

It seems that everyone knows how to exploit it. Everyone understands the gaps and holes. And, most importantly, when the Bears go to it exclusively, they get raped. Is it because it's a passive approach? OR Is it because the Bears don't have the personnel to run it any more? Either way, the Bears almost let a win go yet again. This "playing not to lose" crap has killed the Bears this year, and it appears that Lovie and crew haven't learned their lessons. Thank goodness the offense and ST put up so many points today, because those last ten points to the Vikings were way too easy.

I mean seriously, where is it? We continue to make guys like Griese and Frerotte look like Johnny Unitas. Too much talent on the d-line to look like this.

Well Gotta give Orton Props again, We needed him to have a great day passing the ball and he did. Forte had a descent game, coulda done btter, but I think it was more the scheme then his ability to run. ST won it for us straight out. With all the corners out on injury it was surprising that the secondary played so well. They did give up plays but for the most part they kept everything in front of them. Iam really pleased the way they came in this game. Game balls: 1. Orton 2. Offensive line 3. Special teams Game crappers: 1. Booker ( although he redeemed one drop in the end zone with a great play) 2. Defensive front 4 ( could n…

INJURY REPORT AND IMPLICATIONS Minnesota Vikings (3-3) at Chicago Bears (3-3) By Michael Nudo Minnesota is 3-1 since Gus Frerotte took over at quarterback (AP Photo/Ann Heisenfelt). BEARS OFFENSEcolor> vs. VIKINGS DEFENSEcolor> Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd has missed the last two games with a knee injury. The Bears are not optimistic about Lloyd’s return for this week’s game, either. Devin Hester (11/153, TD) and Rashied Davis (10/138, TD) have played well during Lloyd’s missed time. Marty Booker has also made some big contributions. Running back Matt Forte has a mild thumb injury but isn’t expected to miss any time. Reserve guard Terrence Metcalf …

The Bills traded DT John McCAargo to Indy for a 4th round pick--as per profootballtalk.com. This is significant since McCargo was the guy that Buffalo traded up with Chicago to get in 2006. The Bears gave up the 26th pick for the #42 & the #73 pick. We took Danieal Manning & Dusty Dvoracek. Buffalo would have been one helluva a lot better off standing pat and taking Dvoracek. Not to mention this trade gave us the flexibility to draft Devin Hester. 2006 was also the year that Bears fans were screaming for Angelo to try and trade up to draft Vernon Davis. So far Davis can't even succeed in a Mike Martz offense. I throw this up for 2 reasons:…

NFL suspended G Terrence Metcalf four games for violating the league's policy against steroids and related substances. Dan Buenning will now be forced to serve as Chicago's top backup inside. Charles Tillman had a sling on his left arm after Sunday's game. It's possible Tillman re-aggravated the shoulder injury that he suffered in Week 4. He'll be evaluated early this week. Bears reserve CB Trumaine McBride suffered a shoulder injury Sunday. Lovie Smith revealed after Sunday's loss that nickel back Daniel Manning has a pulled hamstring.
