So lets see where you think we will go in the draft now with the latest signings in FA. WE need a WR to fill the spot left by Marshall and we need a better RB to run in Fox"s RB by committee system. I think we have a rotation at DT/DE/LB that needs to be sorted out IMHO we need a OT because Mills is a weak link and a center if we don't get one in FA

Alex Brown will play this weekend in Seattle and he did light workouts today on the side but was held out of the light walk through. The writer for this story is John Mullin who used to cover the Bears for the Tribune.

Game just started and we are already complaining about the refs. Absolutely horrible. It was clear that wasn't a face mask.

Tennessee (17) Palmer will come out of slump against Tennessee, plus the problems that Vince Young has been having recently. Buffalo (10) The RB dual will have trouble with a lack of the OL for Jacksonville, but the god-awful defense on the Bills can't stop them regardless. Oakland (17) JaMarcus Russell showed yesterday that he wasn't ready for a win, and I believe that this week will be no different. Especially with the way that the Oakland OL looked, and with Dorsey pushing hard for KC, I expect an easy win for KC. Minnesota (17) > Indianapolis (14) With Indy's recent troubles, and how badly they looked and played against the Bea…

Why were we putting Mack in coverage so often and leaving our first round pick on the bench? Put all the player mistakes aside this is one strategic decision by Fangio that I still can't figure out. If you want to drop 8 in coverage put the best 8 coverage guys on the field especially when Mack has a bum ankle.

So thru 3 rounds, this is what we are looking at: DET - Decent draft but missed opportunity to take Tua and/or trade Stafford, or trade down 1. Okudah, CB - basically replaces Slay, good for salary cap, but team really doesn't improve much. Highest DB ever selected, passed on Tua 2. Swift, RB - they already have KJ, so at most RBBC, they must be concerned about KJ's health. Good value pick 3. Okwara, Edge - Decent pick in the 3rd Round, brother is already on the team, reminds me a lot of Floyd, seems more comfortable as just a speed rusher. 4. Jackson, G - Interesting pick, Jackson had a 4th to 5th round grade from most sites, so Pick 75, 11th pick of the 3r…

Here is who we will be playing: HOME: GB, DET, MIN, ARZ, SF, BAL, CIN, NYG AWAY: GB, DET, MIN, CLE, PIT, LAR, SEA, TB Since we don't beat winning teams, we are already looking at 8-8 and that is only if we sweep MIN and DET (unlikely) and beat ARZ, SF, CIN, and NYG. If we split with MIN and DET, that is 6-10. Can we even beat ARZ, SF, CIN or NYG? 6 of the 8 road games against playoff teams. Wow. ARZ will be better next year. SF will be healthy. Burrow will be back for CIN. Saquon will be back for NYG. 5-7 wins seems to be the most likely amount for next year based off the last two years of games. Ouch. What do you think?

  14. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...ver-four-years/ Forte deal has base value of $30.4 million over four years Posted by Mike Florio on July 19, 2012, 12:58 AM EDT AP Bears running back Matt Forte previously said he doesn’t need to be the highest-paid running back in the NFL. And that’s a good thing. Because his new deal puts him far from it. On one hand, Forte will be paid handsomely. On the other hand, multiple other running backs have better deals, including the franchise-tagged running back from Baltimore who signed a new deal later in the same day Forte got paid. Initially reported as a four-year, $32 million contract on Monday,…

  15. Started by AZ54,

I spent time doing some mocks and lots of trade down scenarios and subsequently started scouting deeper into the draft. The first thing that I seemed to notice is that DT talent seems to be lacking in this draft. I could be wrong but my sense is that after Rd 1/2 there isn't a whole lot of depth. There are round 2 DTs like Gervon Dexter I have no desire to draft because he's so slow off the snap. That just leads me to think FA is the way to go for fixing DT this offseason and we can focus draft picks elsewhere. I like Drew Sanders at MLB. He's got some baggage, or growth areas, since Alabama kept him on-ball but he looks pretty good off-ball in these highlight…
