Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. If you can only have one. Who are you signing/keeping as the Bears Do-it-all Player? 1. Grant is a FA, was pretty dynamic on punt returns and flashed some skills on offense (albeit in a small sample size, 9 rec, 139 yds and 2 TDs). He will probably be seeking a deal similar to his last one, 2-3M per year. So do you bring Grant back for $2-3M a year as the primary PR with some potential offensive snaps? 2. Cohen has the 8th highest cap hit on the team for 2022 and basically hasn't played in 2 years. He has a $5.75M cap hit in 2022, and his cap hit balloons to $7.5M in 2023. If you cut him pre-June 1, you save $2.25M and have $3.5M in dead money. Post-June 1 you s…

  2. The Bears hired Jim Arthur as Strength and Conditioning coach today. Arthur was a protege and assistant of Rusty Jones, who was our S&C coach from 2005 - 2013 during the Lovie Smith era. Rusty is widely respected around the league and works in Indianapolis now. It's pretty clear that we are going back to the Tony Dungy / Lovie Smith tree for a 4-3 cover 2 type defense, and supporting staff philosophies, all the way down to S&C. And this is a very good sign. At least there is some kind of cultural cohesion. Everyone working toward the same vision of defense. In 2014, when we changed philosophy on S&C, I posted this article to this board about los…

Most our blue chips players are on defense. Mack, Quinn, Smith , Johnson, and in some respects, Jackson. Other good players on the roster . I think they move on from Goldman, Attaochu, Trevathan. Trevis Gibson, Blackson, Edwards, Tonga , Snowden, Sam Karama, Graham can contribute. Needs : 2 CBs, SS, MLB, SLB, 3 T. If Graham can develop, Shelly, and Vidor can be put at NB or bring in new. I think 3T could be a fit for Edwards and Karama. Both around 6'2" 290. If not will have bring new. Blackson and Tonga can man the NT spot.Possible that Nichols can play there and will be brought back. I think Snowden will get first shot at SAM LB spot. I think the…

I believe he is the longest-tenured Bear and made $1.75M last year. The Bears just signed Ryan Winslow who was a UDFA with the Bears in 2018. Could this be the end of Mega Punt? The Bears also signed long snapper Beau Brinkley, which could also spell the end for Patrick Scales ($1.13M). Between these guys and the vet min, they could save about $1M in cap space between the 2.

*WARNING LONG POST* The Bears recent history with OCs is one of the main reasons why this team has struggled and caused so many HCs to be fired (Lovie). It has been ugly. It could be tied to the run on bad QB play, but it also could be the reason for that bad QB play. The last OC to be in position more than 2 years was Ron Turner from 2005-2009. Before Turner, you have to go back to Turner's first stint with the Bears (93-96) to find an OC that was in position for 4 years. So in the last 30 years, Ron Turner is the only OC who was in position for 4 years. John Shoop somehow lasted 3 years. He is the only other OC to be in position longer than 2 years in that win…

I was thinking that with the full organizational changeover that Poles is not going to go into 2022 expecting to win the SB. With the cap space vs the number of holes to fill coupled with the lack of a 1st rounder, he may stretch this out a little longer. If he does plan to do this, he won't be signing any big-name FAs, will probably trade down in the draft, and will trade away assets to gain cap space and draft capital. The players that would mostly impact the 2023 cap are Mack, Quinn, Jackson, Whitehair, Goldman, Cohen, and Trevathan. The hope is you can move away from most of these guys before the start of next season via trade or cut. I figure Goldman and C…

well, here we go. if it turns out to be true... if this scandal with ross (dolphins owner) and now the owner or high management personnel of the browns? (what other franchises are involved) comes to light that NFL teams were TANKING games per instructions from the owners/management this isn't just a tiny blip on the radar screen this is tracking a full out attack with ICBM's. this means that a number of extremely important things come to mind and it opens up a gigantic can of worms for the owners and the hierarchy of the NFL corporation as a whole. 1. INTEGRITY: the integrity of a real and not contrived sport where the end results are predetermined are at s…

Im sorry to get negative but George screwed up. If Jim Harbaugh was available he was the only HC candidate in this years hiring cycle that was a NO brainer. George could have hired Jim and even if it failed no one could question why he hired Jim. If Eberflaus fails and Jim wins in MN George is going to look like the dumb ass we already know he is. Does George get a 4th chance at fixing the Bears????? After the presser , I really Like Poles. Eberflaus didnt wow me but he didnt piss me off. If they win this post will never get brought back up.

I just watched the entire press conference and figure it's worth a new thread. Poles: For such a young man he carries himself well but he's definitely aware of how big this moment is. Whereas Eberflus is more like ... yep I've been working on this for a long time. I was surprised Poles called Matt Nagy and asked him his thoughts on the Bears and also what Nagy would have done differently. Not sure what to make of that but at a minimum it takes class and some earned respect from Nagy, to do that. I had to take a moment to collect my thoughts after he said he likes his football players fast and violent can't wait to see how that translates into our new safeties. …

Not Bears related but should be a good SB this year. Bengals haven't been to the SB since 88, and It's been a while for the Rams. I like that's it's different teams competing for it rather than Tom Brady vs whoever. I like both QB's in this game, and you have to feel happy for Stafford to finally be free of the pit of misery (aka the Lions), and has a chance to play in the big game. He suffered a long time on a team that couldn't win. Burrow has really come into his own, and if I'm not mistaken he's the first #1 overall to represent his team in a conference championship game ever. This has been an entertaining NFL playoffs (as entertaining as it can be without the…

Seems like this deserves its own thread as we enter the FA and draft season. If this is the direction Eberflus wants to go it's hard to say how much he can implement this offseason. https://www.stampedeblue.com/2020/10/2/21497914/colts-scouting-journal-time-to-stop-calling-the-colts-a-cover-2-defense

This year is a great opportunity in the draft. Every time you get a new coach or GM you have the opportunity to steal intell from other teams. So far, we have ours, KC's and Indy's. That's a very good start. With all this great info, we lack picks, so let's get some. I'll start by trading Quinn. He just had his best season, so his value will never be higher. Plus, he had only one year left on his contract which makes it even sweeter. We should be able to get what Denver got for Von Miller, at a minimum. Next up is Foles. Can we get a fifth rounder? Next, cut or trade both Eddies. Lastly, it's time for Mack to go. If his foot is finally healthy, he is still…

Since Poles was in KC, what cheap free agents could Ryan bring with him? WRs Brian Pringle and Demarcus Robinson CBs Chavius Ward and Mike Hughes S Daniel Sorenson None made significant money and Sorenson is the only one with age. Pringle has 4.46 speed and has gotten better every year. Ward is a better CB than anyone on our roster not named Johnson.

If Poles wants to secure his job for the next 10 years he will get him to come to the Bears....that is if Sean isnt retiring. On espn 1000 this morning Kap said Payton told Pace to NOT take the Bears job, they are a shitty org. Hes not wrong. lol
