So I've taken enough potshots at other people's mocks (all constructive criticism, I promise) - I figured it was time to let you guys tee off on two of mine. As a caveat, I used Draft Tek's big board as a reference. Their mocks are suspect sometimes, but their big board is usually pretty good. Each one of my choices is a guy who Draft Tek has projected to be available somewhere around that pick. The first scenario I've got has Chicago standing pat with all their current picks: 1.18) Hakeem Nicks, WR, UNC 2.49) Phil Loadholt, OT, Oklahoma 3.84) Paul Kruger, DE, Utah 3.99) Jason Williams, OLB, Western Illinois 4.119) Nate Davis, QB, Ball State 5.154) …

On offense, it was clear that Castillo has influenced the O-Line. That is a good sign for some more consistency in the offense. If we can get the ground game going, play-action will be there with easy one read throws for Mitch. Daniels really stood out to me watching the game again. Nagy did a better job in play calling, but still needs better judgment in certain scenarios. Like before the half, we had yet to move the ball and you call a timeout when DET has the ball with a minute left, only to give the ball back to them with 45 seconds left and great field position. That was a rookie coach mistake. If you don't use a timeout and take 3 knees to go into halftime, you are …

  3. We are looking for two new people to join the TalkBears $25 keeper league. This league has been going on for close to 10 years and is always very competitive. We use Yahoo and collect league dues with Leaguesafe. 1st gets $150, 2nd gets $75 and 3rd gets their entry money back. Currently, the keeper rules are you are able to keep any player as long as you drafted the player and they are on your roster at the end of the season, you didn't draft the player in the first round and you didn't keep the same player the year before. You lose the pick from the round before you took that player the previous year. So, for example, last year I drafted Dean…

    1) Is Foles the starter now? 2) Should Foles be the starter now? For me, I hope #1 is a yes but i dont know what this staff thinks, and whether they are willing to move on, but #2 is an absolute yes for me.

  5. Kizer vs Kaaya Chance to take a look at both in the same game.

  6. Started by defiantgiant,

According to Rotoworld, the Jets are inquiring about Brandon Marshall and the Eagles are shopping Reggie Brown. Denver is making it sound like Marshall's not really available (read: they're trying to drive up their price) but I'm not sure we'd want a guy like that anyway. Denver probably wants a 1st and then some, and Marshall's not worth that much risk. On the other hand, as much as I like our young receivers, I could see trading a 4th or something for Reggie Brown. Before the emergence of DeSean Jackson last season, Brown was a decently big part of Philly's offense. He had 61 catches for 780 yards and 4 TDs in 2007. In 2006, he grabbed 46 for 816 yards and 8 s…

I don't recall seeing these being posted, so I thought I'd pass them along. The first is from Aaron Leming, who has broken some of the Bears signings over the summer. The second is from Adam Hoge from WGN. I'm personally a MUCH bigger fan of the first than the second, but would be interested in hearing others' opinions. http://chi.scout.com/story/1534330-bears-s...ound-mock-draft http://wgnplus.com/2015/04/07/hoge-2015-be...mock-draft-3-0/

Should be filled by Bellamy and Holmes. Bellamy has shown flashes of 'good' and was consistent in tonight's game. Although Holmes dropped his first two he came back with a nice TD and then a decent ( not awesome) PR. Since Holmes is a low cost low risk signing he more than qualifies for a spot especially with being able to do returns. The Bears should carry two QBs into week 1. I think Fales should be put on the practice squad or cut all together. His release is really ugly and obviously needs a lot of work. At least his accuracy was better than 'Lamezel'.

Dolphins shopping Wallace. Sounds like it would be too much hassle to trade him but maybe he comes available later as a cut. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000047...-miami-dolphins And Jacoby Jones who adds another dimension as a returner. Of the two I'd much rather see Jones. Better character. http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=123...le.com%2F%22%7D

So Bray got activated for the Colts game and Trubisky doesn't have backup QB duties on the sidelines. I know Nagy tried to downplay this, but there has to be more to this. Nagy said that Bray knows the offense, here is the quote: To me this is a huge knock on Trubisky. So the guy that has started in the offense since you've arrived, has more reps in your offense than any other QB in the league doesn't know the offense well enough to help out the new starting QB, but a PS QB does? Doesn't that seem odd to you? There are several theories floating around but if you peel the onion back, there has to be more to this. Trubisky doesn't want to handle in-game ba…

CHris Harris's latest tweet @ChrisHarrisNFL Chris Harris Whether right, wrong or indifferent I'm pretty sure all of u have or will asked ur boss for a raise. This is no different. Get over it --------------------------- Normal people cant even be sure they will have a job come Monday morning. Regardless of performance. The fact of he matter is that 75% of NFL players are totally average/replaceable. Love the Sport and Love the Bears but man these guys have no sense of reality. Lance Briggs signed a contract for 6M a year on average front-loaded. What the hell.....

This kid reminds me of Thomas Jones a little. Not only in running style but work ethic. I can see why we brought him for a look. Did not have a good 40 time but plays fast. http://www.athleticnetwork.net/site.php?pa...amp;newsID=7155 Will ta'ufo'ou ( say that 10 times ) FB is interesting as well. He will definately bring competition at FB. http://ballhype.com/video/will_ta_ufo_ou_career_highlights/ Hey look Tom Waddle born again, Eric Peterman.

This dude threw for 159 TDs and 16,958 yards in college. Regardless of the school and competition, that is a TON of live reps. No wonder he looks so comfortable in the pocket. Fields has all the tools needed to be a franchise QB, he just needs the live reps. The one thing I notice about Fields, and maybe I am wrong, but it almost looks like he tries to be too calm in the pocket, almost like a forced calmness that slows him down too much. It seems deliberate, like he doesn't care about the rush barreling down on him. It doesn't seem to be slow recognition, but more like slow execution. Trust your eyes and let it rip. Am I crazy? Also, I am totally fin…

Bears sign 22 UDFA's. I don't believe the Bears are the only team that does that at that great a number. Maybe it's time to create a UDFA league that is a non contact touch type league just to weed out the players. 99.9 percent of these players are never going to make an NFL roster. But there might be some who should but they just can't beat the number game. Then again maybe not.

Three guys I'd like us to sign are Graham Gano, Brannan Southerland, and Jamarko Simmons. I'd be happy with one, but ecstatic with all 3. OFFICIAL SIGNINGS: WR Eric Peterman (Northwestern) OL Dennis Conley (Hampton) S Dahana Deletson (UConn) FB Will Taufoou (Cal) LB Mike Rivera (Kansas) RB Tyrell Fenroy (UL-Lafayette) DT Steve Ostrowski (UW-Whitewater)

  20. Sports Illustrated: The Bears did not draft a receiver, and their depth chart at the position is a hodgepodge of options—Cameron Meredith, undrafted in 2015, actually led the team in receiving last year. There is an opportunity, then, for Gentry, a 6' 1", 200-pounder with sticky hands. He produced 1,300-plus yards and 14 TDs last season. PFF: Following the draft, the Bears signed former Wyoming WR Tanner Gentry as an undrafted free agent. In 2016, he graded as the 13th-best WR in the class (minimum 600 snaps). Gentry was the most active deep threat in college football last year. He had 49 deep passing targets (3.5 targets per game) and caught 22 of them, both top…
