I'm anxiously awaiting the preseason games to see how our WR situation will settle out. What seems clear is that Hass is again catching everything thrown at him. In some of the highlight videos I see him out there against the #1 defense catching passes all over the field including deep against Vasher. What we appear to know so far is that Hester isn't going anywhere, neither is Bennett or Davis. It seems Lloyd has played well and seems headed for a roster spot although his big question mark has been toughness and that can only be seen in some of these preseason games. Given what I've heard so far I think he's on the final roster. I believe with Hester s…

Saw this on the main Bears message board from user Dr. Metal and it worked perfect for the HOF game on Sunday: The site itself is hosting the bears games stoogetv.com Watch bears games live no archives no previous games just that days game live and that is it. get to the site click on ''channels'' on the top left side of the screen. there should be a list on the left side of the screen. click on '' bears vs whatever team we are playing that week'' and it should play automatically no downloads required. these are the instructions for the bears game on Thursday it will be broadcast live. They will broadcast all bears games. preseason and reg…

Man I hate fumbled snaps! All our QBs have had a few this preseason (Orton had another one yesterday from Beekman). My question is, are we overreacting to them happening in practice due in part to Rex's history? Is it possible every other team is seeing the same amount of fumbled snaps since guys are just shaking the rust off? I hope this isn't gonna be an issue again during the season, regardless of who the QB is.

The SCORE's been making fun of this depth chart all summer, since the Bear's refused to name starters at WR or QB. I had trouble find this but the Sun Times had it: Bears release first depth chart of summer By Brad Biggson August 4, 2008 5:52 PM | Permalink | Comments (6) | TrackBacks (0) Offense WR--Rashied Davis/Devin Hester, Mike Hass, Brandon Rideau, Ryan Grice-Mullen LT--John St. Clair, Cody Balogh, (Chris Williams) LG--Terrence Metcalf, Anthony Oakley, Ryan Poles C--Olin Kreutz, Josh Beekman, Anthony Oakley RG--Roberto Garza, Tyler Reed, Chester Adams RT--John Tait, Kirk Barton TE--Desmond Clark, Greg Olsen, Kellen Davis, Fontel Mines,…

  8. For a Packer and Favre hater, nothing I could have ever dreamed up could be better than this. Packer nation is divided and they're tearing each other up. Favre's "will he - won't he" routine has Bears fans everywhere smiling. Frankly, you couldn't write this script any better. The Packers couldn't have handled this more poorly. Any professional management group would've known long ago, with Favre (or any face of the franchise player) you have two choices in this situation: 1.) Welcome him back with open arms 2.) Cut him Offering him $25 million to NOT PLAY was the cherry on top of the sundae. As sick of this story as I am, it's like a car a…

This off-season my biggest cry was to fix the OL 1st. It was addressed in a big way with Williams, but has been ignored otherwise with a huge void in OG play. With our current situation playing out... I’m calling it like I see it with the OL: 1)Turnover - we have lost 40% of an underachieving unit that must play as a whole to be successful. 2)Durability – Williams out 10 days and counting, Metcalf is getting fluid drained from his knees, Kruetz has an achilles problem, Garza OK but missing an ACL. 3)Continuity – We are going into our 1st pre-season game and our 1st rounder has failed to take a snap with the team in TC, our swing tackle is our best L…

Metcalf has knee problem Vaughn McClure, 12:22 p.m. Terrence Metcalf emerged from the dining room with a sleeve protecting his right knee. The left guard said he had the knee drained Friday after it swelled, and he's not sure how the injury occurred. "It's no big thing," he said. He expects to play in Thursday's exhibition against the Chiefs. And he expects to start if he does play. "Heck yeah, I'll be running with the first team," he said. Metcalf has yet to be cleared for Monday night's practice. Josh Beekman has been working at left guard in his place.

In looking at which QB starts for us, I read about many things each does well, but that got me thinking. What traits are going to be most important. Downfield passing is one that so often comes up, but simply not what I consider all that important. In a perfect world, it would be great to have a QB that can connent deep w/ his reciever, but I just question how much of our game will be centered about that. We have Hester to run downfield, but beyond the WR, or even the QB, I simply question our OL. How many here believe we have an OL that can pass protect long enough to allow WRs to run deep routes. IMHO, if we try to allow deep patterns to open up, we will see a…

apparently Brett Favre will be reinstated tomorrow and is in camp and will compete for the starting job with Rodgers. LOL Rodgers can't catch a break. Finally gets a chance to be the man and now he has to beat out a HOF QB. "hello bench and clipboard my old friends." It's been amusing to watch this play out. Not be a conspiracy theorist but what if the "open competition" could this be just a PR move and in their minds they want Rodgers to be the starter and win that competition. However, lets say that's the case, imagine the public perception here. Wouldn't the press and the fans alike see right through that? Could they realistically convince the …

Our special teams will be better this and be on top of the NFL once again. Sure we have a few holes to fill but that simple with all the players we have ready to step up. Gould is kicking the ball off well and they are going deep into the end zone. He has also made a 67 yard field goal in practice. Now if he can do this in a game then we have an added weapon. With hester changing field postion and a threat to take it all the way, making coaches not wanting to kick to him, and then you have Maynard the punter pinning the other team deep with kicks inside the 20.

  18. Im going to list divisions one by one every few days and when the season starts, throw them in the archive so we can see how everyone did. AFC North Pittsburgh Steelers 10-6 The Steelers will win the division and be the only playoff team in it. Losing Faneca will hurt their running game, especially Mendenhall who will be primarily used to run up the middle. Fast Willie and Big Ben will put up similar numbers to last season. Wards numbers will start to slip as Holmes and Heath Miller emerge as the primary receiving threats. Limas Sweed wont make a big impact this season. Drummond will be a great pick up to help their field position. Theyre defense will…

The Bears Core is looking pretty good, as long a players develop JA will keep this team in good shape. Players in RED are ones that JA will have to decide on extending Players in GREEN are players if they step up big, can get rewarded early. The way I see it coming, the Bears will be working on extending Mike Brown if he stays healthy and Brandon McGowan if he produces. Grossman will get franchised only if he produces just to see if he can do it again. If Kevin Jones produces, he'll command a high salary and I just can't see the Bears giving it to him. If Brandon Lloyd produces, this may likely get done b/c I think Lloyd will be looking for long term secur…
