The Buffalo Bills have agreed to terms with free-agent WR Brad Smith (Jets) on a four-year deal worth $15 million.

So this guy got 1 target and 1 reception in Week 1. Even with that week of low usage, he still is 5th amongst TEs in receptions and yards, 3rd for 1st Downs, and has the highest Catch Rate amongst the top 20 TEs this season. He is 8th in AAV for his contract amongst TEs, only 500K more than Friermuth. It feels like the Bears got a very solid deal with Kmet who is signed thru 2027. His cap hit is fixed, so every year it is going to become an even better deal.

So now we have heard from both Caleb and DJ Moore about tht pass where the Rams intercepted the ball. Both called it a miscommunication. That means it wasnt an errant throw by Caleb. And sure DJ jogged the last part of the route, but even if he had run full speed, he wouldnt have made it to the ball the way he was going. From the Twitter Doctors, it looks like a season ending injury and potentially something that will impact next season. So the Bears will need a new LT on opening day next season. Just another need for a team with a ton of needs. Poles needs to go.

The Hail Mary ended Flus's run, the team was sleepwalking after that game. My hope is this is the signature gritty win they were looking for, battling for 60 minutes to scrap out a last second win. Johnson needs to improve his play calling; felt like he was forcing the runs that were turning into instant lost yards. Then, with first and goal at the 2, you score on first down when you could have burned the clock all the way down and forced them to use their timeouts. The trading deadline is on October 29th and the Bears have some tough decisions to make. They are 3-3 and I think the outcome of the Chargers game will determine which way they go at the deadline. They obviously have some needs and I could actually see them as buyers and sellers even if they win. If they lose, you have to think fire sale and clean up the cap while recouping picks. So I got an email today from NFL Sunday Ticket that the preseason game would stream on my NFL Sunday Ticket app today, sort of a test out the software pre weekend offer I guess. Surprising news this is not. If he signs on elsewhere, and he likely will at some point, then the Bears will at least get some relief from the new contract offset. Back when the trade deadline was approaching a lot of Bears fans were calling for Poles to trade for Chase Young. Since we have seen a good body of his work since he was traded to the 49ers, it looks like he is just fully recovered from his ACL tear and might be someone who could be a viable option to pair with his former teammate Montez Sweat.
