I was thinking how damn good Minnesota is defensively, how great their o-line is, & their RB's are top-notch. They have around 15 million cap-available. While their secondary sucks, their most glaring weakness is QB & WR. I'd take Mark Bradley/Devin Hester or Moose over ANY WR Minny has. MAYBE Tavaris Jackson isn't horrible, but why take that chance? Sadly & ironically the best WR on the market is Bernard Berrian. (Randy Moss is returning to NE IMO) The best QB available is Rex Grossman. (Derek Anderson ain't going nowhere . . . . that makes Rex #1.) If I'm Minnesota, I do everything possible to address these two positions. I'd over-pay if …

Donte Stallworth, current NE WR, now an UFA. He'd look good in our WR core if Berrian leaves. However, if NE loses Moss, I think they'll sign Stallworth. He'd be their #1/#2 Anyways, what do you think of this possibility? He'll 28 next November, which is pretty decent. I'd give him 3-4 years...

I came across a new site that really impresses me. How often do you find a draft site that gives a 7 round mock draft with "what if" scenerios and updates it's projection frequently getting readers inputs and adjusting team needs charts as the off-season progresses? That is what I found at Draft Tek Sports Information Web Site. There I found a 7 Round Draft Simulation that rocked. I did not necessarily agree with all the selections but found it to be one of the most credible mock drafts I have come across and am anxious to see the future updates to this mock as we progress through the free agency period and teams needs change as a result. I hope you guys e…

I watched very little college football this year do to work, work, work.... I went to a couple of sites looking at the sleepers they have listed that had write-ups on the players (lists without some knd of breakdown on the player is meaningless to me for I do not even recognize the names, LOL). Here are some I found on two sites. Do you guys have any to add I should be aware of? Angelo loves sleepers and small school prospects and has actually done well in this area of the later rounds.

  6. Hopefully Turner was watching how to use a receiver to exploit a DEF and how to take pressure off a QB. Credit the Giants D for not giving up because how frustrating must it have been to get pressure on TB only to see him dump it off to Faulk and Welker converting 3rd & long all day. I also hope Hester was watching how Welker at his size runs tight precision routes and was able to protect himself from taking big hits by getting down when there is nothing left to a play. Just imagine if Hester with all his talent was able to be utilized like Welker?

I'm sick and damn tired about hearing how damn great the NFC is. What REALLY pisses me off is for the last year, there's been the notion the Bear's didn't have a snow-ball's chance in hell to win the big game. It was 29 to 17!!! Christ almighty, the way people talk you'd think the Bears lost 41 to 3. I hate NY teams, but the Pat's were even more obnoxious. Congrats Giants. On a side note, in any sport has their ever been a pair of brothers to do what Peyton & Eli have done?

Watching the Giants in the SB knowing full well that we should have beat them in Soldier field. I will even go farther and say that if we beat them they don't make it to the playoffs. Thinking about that game there was one play that stood out - Devin dropping a beautiful pass from Rex when he had 10 yds on the defenders. He catches that pass, we win that game. AAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Peace

Urlacher's contract is up at the end of the 2011 season, and we all know with how his back problems are still there despite what he says, we can almost guarantee he retires after that season. Now the question: Will the Bears win a Super Bowl with Urlacher? Explain your reasoning, and give some predictions on who'll lead us in some statistical categories in the year you think they'll win, like tackles, rushing yards, receiving yards, TD's thrown, etc.

Once again Richard Dent was overlooked for the Hall of Fame. Damn! Super Bowl MVP and a monster at DE. If Manibal made it Dent definitely should be there. Was this his last shot?

Nice article. Seems like we really lucked out with him considering we had signed Doug Brien in the offseason (good thing Brien sucked). http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/77...supernt.article Peace

Just kidding. But really, if you need proof that stats can be very misleading, check this out. Look at Urlacher's stats. He had his best year statistically. http://www.nfl.com/players/brianurlacher/p...le?id=URL059326 In 8 seasons he's only had more tackles twice. Since his rookie season he's never had more than 6 sacks so 5 sacks this season is pretty good. Url had 5 picks, which is almost twice as many as he's ever had in a season before and blew away his old stats in terms of passes defended with 12, literally twice as many as he'd ever put up before. He also took a pick back to the house for the first time. If I was playing Madden, I'm sure I'…

If the Bears are going to take a OL in the 1st I was wondering what type of Lineman do the people on this board want to get. Take in mind im figuring Ryan Clady and Long are gone before we pick. So the next highest rated prospects are: Chris Williams great foot work and technique excellent pass blocker can handle speed rushers very agile and athletic. or Jeff Otah monster of a man who is extremely strong and powerful knock you out your socks kinda a guy but raw with alot of upside. Basically are we going to be a pass crazy team or a "start running off the bus" type of team.

From PFT, Johnson also was on WSCR in Chicago, during which he said he'd make quarterbacks Rex Grossman or Kyle Orton into superstars. Johnson also said, "I've worked myself to a point to where I make the quarterback look good regardless of what he does or where he puts the ball." Not really that much to read into this as he has supposedly be pulling the same thing all over the place, trying to tie himself w/ any team that will listen. While I do not think this is actually a possibility, what do you all think about the idea. Frankly, it is similar to when there was talk of TO being moved. Trading for, or simply acquiring these prima dona WRs works out…

  17. Since this works so well at Soxtalk, i figured i would start a thread here for the same purpose. If you feel that something is discussion-worthy, but dont feel like starting a new thread, post it here. Maybe a Mod can sticky this at the top of the page. The reason i started the thread is because I heard Moose on the Score yesterday during an update, and he didnt sound like he thought he was coming back to the Bears. The one quote that jumped out at me was when he said: "If the Bears want to sign someone younger and go in a different direction, Im sure I can get another job somewhere else" (not verbatim) Good riddance, the guy thinks way too highly …

  18. Hampton: We would have pounded Brady By Barry Rozner | Daily Herald Columnist Published: 1/31/2008 12:14 AM You can't help but wonder about that 1 field goal. You wonder where the 1985 Bears would have landed in history if an errant blocking call hadn't led to Walter Payton's fumble in Super Bowl XX and a Patriots field goal 1:19 into the game. After shutting out the Giants and the Rams in the first two playoff games, had the Bears been leading 44-0 instead of 44-3, Buddy Ryan would have called the fourth quarter like he did the first three, and there would have been no New England TD. "I'm glad you brought that up, because I know Buddy would have …
