I always find it funny when someone does an analysis like this with no point. To me the numbers are very misleading. 6 players are 30, and 8 our 31-33. Of those 8, 2 are our Kicker and Long Snapper. That leaves 6 players of age concern to me: Allen (gone after this year), Ratliff (only 1 or 2 years left), Rolle (stop gap Safety for 2 years), Montgomery (Centers can play into their mid-30's), Jennings (likely gone after this year), and Cutler (QB age is a non-factor at 31). Our team's average age is 26.1. https://twitter.com/JimmyKempski/status/585038173056569344

By Vaughn McClure, Chicago Tribune reporter 10:45 p.m. CDT, July 26, 2011 As of late Tuesday evening, the Bears had yet to agree to terms with free-agent linebacker Justin Durant. But a source close to the player believes the Bears remain in the picture. According to the source, the Bears inquired about Durant, last with the Jaguars, Tuesday morning. The Bears are looking for stability at the starting strong-side linebacker spot next to middle linebacker Brian Urlacher and weak-side linebacker Lance Briggs. Durant has been high on the Lions' radar, too. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Durant started 42 games in four seasons with the Jaguars and has 230 caree…

Dan Wiederer @danwiederer 5m5 minutes ago The Bears have signed CB Marcus Cooper to a three-year contract. https://twitter.com/danwiederer/status/840690122442043392 A very under-the-radar type signing with huge upside.

Hosted Reuben Randle the other day. Sounds like if Floyd isn't there they are looking to find a receiver in the 2nd round.

Obviously not a shocker, but some other reports indicate Jackson is very high on the Bears & Raiders lists as well.

Its not too often that NFL teams can have 3 former head coaches as assistant coaches for 2 consecutive seasons as usually someone comes a callin' for their services. This unique situation we have here is something that we should watch closely. As most of the nation think the Bears are a luck based bunch, the fact that these 3 guys have coached up a couple of players on this team speaks volumes for their expertise. Martz: He obviously has had a positive effect on Jay Cutler with him getting in the best shape of his career even during a lockout offseason and he clearly has a grasp of what Martz is trying to do which makes me wonder if the 2 had secret meetings during th…

http://bearingthenews.com/?p=976 Bears in a Bind if Titans Try to Take Mike Tice by Tom Shannon Both Sean Jensen at the Chicago Sun-Times (http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2011/02/mi...n_titans_r.html) and Brad Biggs at the Chicago Tribune (http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2011-02...rcus-webb-bears) are reporting that the Tennessee Titans might have an interest in Bears offensive line coach Mike Tice. Some interesting aspects to this: 1) New head coach Mike Munchak was the offensive line coach there and he would certainly see Tice’s value to the team as a replacement for himself. However Tice’s value as a coordinator is debatable. Though he i…

Coaching carousel will be a wild ride in 2010 .Mike Florio Archive|Email Mike FlorioComments (1)More Login or register to post commentsPrinter-friendly versionWednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 - 11:02 a.m. ET After the 2005 season, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti had a problem. The team he owns had missed the playoffs for two straight years. Coach Brian Billick, who won a Super Bowl in his second year on the job thanks to a dominant defense built before he arrived, had demonstrated a chronic inability to develop a successful quarterback. And so Bisciotti was thinking about making a change. But if Billick had been fired, who would have been hired? Bisciotti conclude…

By Brad Biggs, Tribune reporter 8:50 a.m. CST, December 30, 2013 Ten thoughts after the Chicago Bears’ season-ending 33-28 loss to the Green Bay Packers. 1. It will not be easy to move past missed opportunities in this Bears season. There were plenty of chances to finish better than 8-8 and just one game’s difference would have meant a division title ahead of the Packers (8-7-1), who clinched the NFC North for the third straight year. The Bears lost on the final two weekends of the season when they knew before kickoff of the Dec. 22 game at Philadelphia that a victory locked up the division. There were losses in four of the final six games, including the overt…
