The main thing I have noticed about the Bears" receivers form the first 2 games is that they are catching the balls from Cutler with both hands in their mid sections and Knox on a couple of occassions leaped and caught the ball in his stomach. The same can be said for Kellen Davis,Hester and Bennett. The one attempt at a catch that was in a receivers hands was when Olsen got hit hard by Carter. This trend is not a problem now but when the weather gets cold balls may bounce off receivers.I have always been a fan of hands catchers but don't get madif you catch with the body but hold on to the ball. If you watch our WRs closly you can see receivers readjusting to balls that …

Hi All, I was just thinking, what is everyone thinking about the RB position? Last year Forte was thought to be the answer, many more questions around that thinking now I would think? Personally, I think we make sure that Jones is going to be sound next year and sign him up, and then think seriously about whether Wolfe is worth keeping. Can he really be a significant part of our offence?

The rumblings around Chicago are that the Bears will look to sign a big-time back-up running back to team up with Matt Forte and LT (Cap Casualty)/Chester Taylor (UFA) are expected to be guys the Bears consider. Evidently McGahee might be joining that group and I think he could be a real nice fit if he does get cut. LT and Chester Taylor are also real nice fits. And no matter what, it seems like we have a few real good options to help improve our rushing attack (from the RB perspective).

Evidently Hub Arkush is of the perception that the Bears low-balled Chud and that is the reason he isn't our OC. Per Hub, The Bears apparently offered Chud a contract but the value was well lower than what a typical OC gets paid. If true, what a freakin disgrace.

Who in this draft is going to be a blue chip player from day one and makes us a better team now? Chubb could be the guy but will not be there. Barkley could be consider that type of player, but he will not be there in almost any scenario. Next will be Nelson, a potential instant all pro type. He would give us strength at a key need and push the O in his first year to be better. Now we are at players we probably have the best shot at . Fritzpatrick can be used all over the field at any DB spot and be a playmaker we badly need. A prime candidate if available . R. Smith would instantly make out defense better. a Luke Kuechly type that improves…

The Bears traded a conditional 7th rounder for K Eddie Pineiro I remember reading about him in the draft a couple years ago. It's interesting, with the league making so many trades and Free Agency etc, it's fascinating how players that we think will be a good fit for the Bears in the draft that we don't get to draft, sometimes end up on the team anyway later. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-bears-trade-for-kicker-eddy-pineiro-20190506-story.html

Every year as the draft gets closer the hype on quarterbacks intensifies and the bears are always needing a quarterback, I look back to a list that Bill Parcels made as it relates to drafting a quarterback. 1. 3 year starter 2. Be a senior 3. Graduate from college 4. start 30 games 5. win 23 games 6. post a 2-1 td to int ratio 7. >60% completion By that list most quarterbacks wouldn't get drafted. Chicago is not like Jacksonville. It is an intense football market. So I took 3 things from that list that I would imagine are important. Games played (as most are juniors 3 year starter is out). year completi…

Wasn't sure where to stick this, so here we are. The Bears announced they are releasing All Quad in Muhammad. He never produced and Poles left an out. 1/2 mil dead money and we add almost 4 mil to the cap. We are going to see roster moves as Poles evaluates the roster.

Broke my back (T11&12) on May 11. Just released from rehab center to continue recovery at home. In too much pain to sit in this damn brace long enough to catch up on what I have missed in regards to recent developments of our Bears. Can you give me an update on what I've missed out on? Additions? Edge rusher? etc... I need to get back in bed. Will check bacm tomorrow. Thanks.

Oh no. Apparently Braxton Jones is going to IR. This is a huge blow to an already decimated offensive line. This really screws us. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2023/9/20/23882436/bears-braxton-jones-injured-reserve-put-neck-injury-buccaneers-chiefs-left-tackle-matt-eberflus-nfl

6.5 games left or approximately 390 snaps for a 4th round pick. I really hope they keep running Fields out there and let Wilson rest until at least Week 8 or 9. I am glad Fields is winning, but because the Steelers defense is playing so good (16 pts allowed in 2 games), no one really knows how Fields is actually playing. Does this look familiar to anyone? 23 Offensive Drives 1 TD 8 FGs 11 Punts 1 ToD 2 EoH This is Fields 2nd half today: Punt Punt FG Punt Punt Punt Punt I am happy for Fields, but the Steelers have to see this right?

Warning Long Post Incoming I am starting to think Poles is just a very average GM that got lucky. Just think if the Bears didn't have the #1 pick in 2023? He picked Eberflus over a bunch of better options. There were all kinds of problems with other staff members and in less than 3 years, they are already on their 2nd OC, DC, RB Coach and a whole bunch of other coaching positions. He got rid of players like Montgomery who signed for less than the Bears paid Swift for and Monty is clearly the better RB. He let other players walk like Daniels only to pay someone like Davis. He replaced Mooney with Tyler Scott. He drafted Gill, to cut him and draft Taylor in…

8 carries and 2 receptions thru 4 weeks. In his last 2 seasons, he was averaging over 50 yards per game, that's down to 4. He clearly has been relegated to RB3/4, and if not for injuries to Blasingame and Homer, might've been a healthy scratch the last two weeks. He did not have an offensive snap against the Rams. As far as I can tell, that was only the 2nd time in his career that he suited up for a game and didn't get a touch (carry, reception, or KR). It is only the 5th time he didn't get a carry in his career, and 3 of the other 4 games were his first 3 of his rookie year and the 4th was Week 15 his rookie year. And for other guys, they might as well see wh…

With one week left, this is quite surprising. I know injuries and playing time impacted the numbers, but it has been since Kendall Wright led the team in receiving that the Bears top Receiver had fewer than 750 yards receiving. Moore 49-671-6 Loveland 48-622-5 Odunze 44-661-6 Burden 44-617-2 There is an outside shot that the Bears end up with 4 Receivers with over 50 Receptions and 700 Receiving Yards. The fact that they are so close is really impressive.

The Bears are about $4M over the cap, need $5M for operating space and $8-10M for draft picks. Let's just say that is $20M. The Bears can gain over $35M in cap space with these 3 transactions: 1. Cut Edmunds - pre-June 1st, save $15M (only $2.4M Dead cap) 2. Trade Moore - pre-June 1st, save $16.5M ($12M in Dead cap) or restructure that can save approximately $15M. 3. Restructure Thuney - convert $12M of his $16M to bonus, saves $6M Other potential moves 1. Cut/Trade/Restructure/Extend Kmet - I think they will do something with him. He is tied for the 7th-highest AAV amongst TEs for backup TE production. With the emergence of Loveland, yo…
