This is a make or break game for the Bears. Win and playoff chances alive. Lose and it's over. It's that easy. Bears 20-16 in an ugly one.

I'm not doing the breakdown this week, as I've seen enough. Foles is a pussy and I'm not talking about the injury. At least 6 times he could have set his feet and thrown the ball last night and he chose to do something other than fundamental. He doesn't show the mental discipline and toughness to succeed. Like 6 teams already knew this, but our resident geniuses now something other good franchises don't. I'm done with him. I don't know that happened to the gameplan, but WTF? Our 2nd and 3rd drives netted 80% of our yards against a defense that is not good. Our you heard our next GM commentating the game, you would have heard him criticizing our play calli…

At 5-4, a win against MIN on MNF is the only way we have a chance at the playoffs. If the Bears lose and go to 5-5, the season is over. However, I think they win and go to 6-4 into the bye. If they do, they still have work to do in the highly competitive NFC. There is a chance that 7 teams win 10 games and the 7th team doesn't make the playoffs. Here is the main competition for the playoffs: 1. New Orleans 7-2, currently 1st in Division, but lost Brees for several weeks. They have the tie breaker against the Bears, only 1 game against teams in the hunt. I project them no worse than 11-5, but expect 12-4 or 13-3. The Brees injury could be huge if he is out extend…

Since we have a Fire Nagy thread, I think we should make one for the GM that should have been fired a year ago. The case for firing Ryan Pace: 1. Awful in the first round: He had 4 top 10 picks and whiffed on three of them(White, Floyd, Trubisky) 2. Failed trades: Pace has traded draft capital for the following players: Trubisky, Mack, Miller, Montgomery, Foles All of the players he has traded for have been either inconsistent(Miller, Mack, Montgomery) or bad(Trubisky, Foles) 3. Contract disputes with the Bears best players: The fact that he couldn't get extensions done with Fuller and Robinson is inexcusable. Transition taggin…

So I wonder if the firing of both Pace and Nagy wouldn't be the biggest moral booster the Bears could make before the season ends. And I also mean tearing down the whole team. I don't think any D-fensive player has taken a team to a Super Bowl win, no matter how good, with out strong support across the board. Taylor, Butkis, Watt, Donald, Sapp, Mack. When the highest paid player is on the defense or offense other than QB your just not going to win. And this whole mindset of getting a QB on a rookie deal so you can build around him. In the last nine years only two teams won with a QB on their rookie contract. Wentz was but Foles won the big one. IMHO in to…

Here's the latest offensive breakdown. I wish I had time to do this weekly. Note: When I say a run is R2, that equals right (2 hole or A gap). Play Actual Play Player Comments 1 Pass Swing pass left to Patterson for 8 2 Pass Play action pass to Graham for 24 3 Run middle Arob and Mooney No holes. LB and CB run blitz leaving Mooney and Arob alone. If they come down a chip there would be a huge gain. 1 yard 4 Quick pass rt …

Bears getting 6 pts. Hard to see how the Bears pull this one out after the last two games. Offensive Line is decimated and we are not very good at stopping the run. Henry looks to have a big day. Until they show anything, this is an L. The only way I can see them winning is if they get a Special Teams or Defensive score. Titans 27-13.

Another loss, I doubt we see him back next year due to cap restrictions.

I don’t know how reliable Over The Cap is but it looks like we are in a right mess. Pace just throws money without caring about the consequences. The amount of money tied up with Mack and Quinn is ridiculous especially when they have been poor. If we move on from Leno and Massie next year there is still a lot of dead money owed. 2 years ago things looked good and now it’s worse than the Trestmen and Emery era.

I had nothing better to do today, so I took the time to do a breakdown of every offensive snap. While we tend to look at things like time to throw, running lanes and play calling, I tried to focus on why. What I found was 44 mistakes that could stand to be cleaned up. There are always going to be mistakes that lead to failed execution, but 44 is way too many when you run 61 offensive plays. Here's the tally for miscues. QB=14, HC=2, TE=6, RB=4 and OL=18 Going try to copy my play by play sheet, but it may be ugly. Play # Actual Play Comments Play 1 Run off LT Adequate block on edge…

Home Dogs for this one. There is a good chance Michael Thomas misses this game. If that happens, the Saints leading WR is Sanders. The only real threat is Kamara who has 75 rushes and 46 receptions. He has to be contained. The Saints defense has allowed 23, 34, 37, 29, 27, and 24 to start the season. They have needed 27 or more to win a game which favors the Bears. After a demoralizing loss, I think the Bears come in pissed off and grind out a tough win. Bears 27-23

I'm going to get straight to it. This team lacks discipline. It is a direct sign that the head coach needs to simplify things 1) The Chicago Bears lead the league in penalties and yards of penalties. Smart teams that know they need every break they can get buckle down on these mental lapses. It shows that it's not being drilled in. 2) Can not run the football. The easiest thing to do in all of sports is running the football. You line up against the other team and impose your will as a unit. Our OL continues to blow assignments, lack effort and generally suck. Running the football is about effort and desire. Sometimes yes, mostly no. All about discipli…

With the Jets likely winning the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes, they will likely try to get some value for Darnold. This is just me, but Darnold is better than what we have. So what say you? What would we be required to give up? I would love to load up on OL and have an NFL ready QB out of the draft.

can ANYBODY explain to me why in god's name you would name tony la russa as your head coach??? the sox were a team on the rise with young talent and future series potential. then reinsDORK hires this decrepit 100 year old dinosaur who ran the sox into the ground in his previous tour as sox manager and skippered the juicer winning cards and A's in which he condoned and looked away while his players were cheating and stealing from their fellow athletes by pumping steroids and growth hormones into their systems. not to mention, the brave la russa threatened an elderly jimmy piersall with bodily harm together with some THUG for being piersall. reinsdork has now tain…

Saw a story pop up about this. Possible help at PR where he’s historically done well and so far Ginn Jr is struggling. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/gm-report/bears-give-tryout-to-former-pro-bowl-punt-returner

So with Trubisky done as a starter, it is interesting to see how the other guys are doing. Mahomes now has 4 games with less than 250 yards passing, yet the Chiefs keep winning. The more I watch his games, the more I think he would not be as effective on another team. He would still be very good, but not this good. Someone is always wide open. I don't know why our guys can't get open like that. Watson on the other hand has 4x straight 300 yard games with multiple TD passes, yet they are 1-6. He is now 11-11 as a starter since 2019. Trubisky is 11-7 in that same period. Watson is getting a lot of garbage time stats which makes him look a lot better. He is havin…

Wow, so he gets that type of deal as the #3 TE that doesn't play special teams. Very interesting. That seems like a lot of money for that type of role, especially with all the COVID cap numbers hitting next year. Seems odd to me.

Almost 60 years of watching the Bears. I told myself I would not say anything anymore after Monday night. But here I am. I have infested more time and emotions than I want to say, And still have had my heart ripped out for all but one season If my mind was not so weak I would list all the games I have watched since the 70's, 80's 90' into the next century when they did not close the season. Still they are not the Lions, Minnesota, or any of a dozen teams who have not won the big one. They are and will always be the most storied franchise in NFL history Then I read a story on on the Bears web site. https://www.chicagobears.com/news/chicago-bears-of…

Ok, so I know this goes without saying and most teams and their fans can complain about the officials, but there is no denying the Bears are on the short end of these calls more times than not. Check out some of these calls/no-calls that have cost the Bears points.
