Sounds like a perfect Nagy scenario. Wont cost much , no draft capital, and then still draft a QB. I would say better than Foles.

But based on his points I just don't see any reason the Bears should do any trading up for any QB that would be available before ten. I want them to just stay put unless one of the top four falls beyond ten or hope Jones falls to 20. Other wise draft a OL best player available at 20 and see who's there in the 2nd.

Does this break the dam on QB movement?

What if Pace and Nagy were to trade x=y=z players this off season. Get another four or five draft picks and try and have a draft like the Bears had in the early 80's. Start building a new foundation for a generation. Why would that mean they have to win now or be gone. Set a true foundation of picks to build on and insure them a decade of control? Why does it have to be win now or gone. Change the whole thought process.

Heard on Waddle and Silvey that nobody is giving Philly a first round pick for Carson Wentz. Also, it's rumored that we are highly interested in Derek Carr.

I really like this guy. It seems like he gets it, he knows how to make the defense better and they will be next year. It was interesting to hear all the praise go to Fangio, and I don't think anyone ever mentioned Pagano once.

As far as comparing the teams, take a look DBs; I think we have talent with AJAK, Fuller and Johnson LBs; Devin White and Smith are very similar and Levonta David is better than Trevathan but its not a great difference as you think. There are 10-15 names that have a very low chance of being available at #20, which makes it a little easier to see who may be there at #10. However, from a need perspective, that takes away Lawrence, Wilson, Fields (for QBs), Sewell and Slater (OT), and Smith, Waddle, Chase (WR). That is 8 right there without thinking much. Literally our top needs will be heavily selected in the top 15 (yay Pace!). I'll be watching and recording the Senior Bowl. In particular, evaluating the big uglies on the OL. One I really have an eye on is Quinn Meinerz from a small Wisconsin school. Nasty OG with personality.

Check this out. ESPN's take on the state of the NFL, where teams stand in terms of how close to the SB they are, and the write up on the Bears. Interesting that the Bears are the lowest rated team in their list out of all the teams that made the playoffs. To me it's interesting for two reasons. One, because they realize the Bears weren't really playoff quality. Two, because they realize the Bears are missing several pieces of the puzzle.
