I know there are a lot of haters on Leno and he’s certainly had his struggles, but this makes the O-line worse going into the year. I don’t have confidence in Jenkins as your day 1 LT but there aren’t really any other options unless they sign Eric Fisher to a cheaper contract or something.

So 2022 is where the team is in a much better cap situation. They can save $12.9M by cutting Quinn as a post-June 1 cut and $7M on Foles next offseason. So $20M off the books is a nice chunk of change without losing any performance. Mack is also an easy candidate for a restructure at $30M. Graham comes off the books, so the only guys with a cap hit north of $10M would be Mack, Jackson, Whitehair, and Goldman. Even before the Quinn and Foles moves, the team would have around $40M to play with, so $60M is more than enough money to resign current guys and bring in a couple of impact FAs. It is so weird seeing the media give Pace an A draft grade and praise his entire draft. This one feels different. Then getting Snowden as a UDFA is icing on the cake. I am still in shock but happy with how it turned out. The trade ups worried me but Pace made some great Day 3 picks to compensate.

I was a little concerned (at first) about Fields' demeanor in the interviews. He seemed sullen, not smiling. I thought "damn maybe he isnt happy here" So I checked out other interviews with him, and found this one after winning the Sugar Bowl with a huge performance. He's the same. Serious, joyless. Kind of intense. If he was a game show host, I wouldn't love it. He might not be selling insurance anytime soon. But he is a tough guy, hard worker, and he seems very serious about everything. 1st - Trade up for Trey Lance, QB, NDST - This would be a horrible move. Reeks of Trubisky. Will set the franchise back and cost too much. It would also mean a wasted first round pick on a clipboard holder, or $10M wasted on Andy Dalton. 2nd - Landon Dickerson, IOL, Bama - Normally I love OL and specifically Alabama OL, but this would piss me off because it's interior and not OT, and it's a guy with extensive injury history. 3rd - Mid-Rd Safety Reach w/ OT available - Two or three solid OTs are there, one of which probably should have been a second rounder.
