I know there are a lot of haters on Leno and he’s certainly had his struggles, but this makes the O-line worse going into the year. I don’t have confidence in Jenkins as your day 1 LT but there aren’t really any other options unless they sign Eric Fisher to a cheaper contract or something.

At this time of year it's always fun to read positive remarks from the media. One can only hope they are right, this time. LOL A nice article about 2 of our 6th round picks, RB Herbert & CB Graham.

So 2022 is where the team is in a much better cap situation. They can save $12.9M by cutting Quinn as a post-June 1 cut and $7M on Foles next offseason. So $20M off the books is a nice chunk of change without losing any performance. Mack is also an easy candidate for a restructure at $30M. Graham comes off the books, so the only guys with a cap hit north of $10M would be Mack, Jackson, Whitehair, and Goldman. Even before the Quinn and Foles moves, the team would have around $40M to play with, so $60M is more than enough money to resign current guys and bring in a couple of impact FAs. Starters that need new contracts: Robinson (UFA - 2022) Daniels (UFA - 2022) …

Roster Move: Bears sign WR Damiere Byrd Another veteran speedy WR with experience as a kick returner. I think half of the FA contracts signed by all teams this year are 1 year unguaranteed contracts.

It is so weird seeing the media give Pace an A draft grade and praise his entire draft. This one feels different. Then getting Snowden as a UDFA is icing on the cake. I am still in shock but happy with how it turned out. The trade ups worried me but Pace made some great Day 3 picks to compensate.

    Pick - Name - BR / PFF / TDN 11 - Fields - 3 (+8)/3 (+8)/5 (+6) 39 - Jenkins - 12 (+27)/31 (+8)/28 (+11) 151 - Borom - 231 (-80)/191 (-40)/383 (-232) 217 - Herbert - 168 (+49)/91 (+126)/190 (+27) 221 - Newsome - 183 (+38)/255 (-34)/182 (+39) 228 - Graham - 154 (+74)/76 (+152)/135 (+93) 250 - Tonga - 55 (+195)/142 (+108)/196 (+54) Looking back at some pre draft big boards, Graham and Herbert both had as low as a 3-round grade with some big boards, and at worst both were considered 5th rounders, so getting them as late 6th's was really high value. BR and TDN had Newsome at 183 and 182 respectively, which was almost 40 picks earlier than the actual pic…

I was a little concerned (at first) about Fields' demeanor in the interviews. He seemed sullen, not smiling. I thought "damn maybe he isnt happy here" So I checked out other interviews with him, and found this one after winning the Sugar Bowl with a huge performance. He's the same. Serious, joyless. Kind of intense. If he was a game show host, I wouldn't love it. He might not be selling insurance anytime soon. But he is a tough guy, hard worker, and he seems very serious about everything. Constrast that with Mitch's goofiness, and I am not at all unhappy. I just think, as we watch him, it's good to have some context in which to evaluate his demeanor. Im not…

1st - Trade up for Trey Lance, QB, NDST - This would be a horrible move. Reeks of Trubisky. Will set the franchise back and cost too much. It would also mean a wasted first round pick on a clipboard holder, or $10M wasted on Andy Dalton. 2nd - Landon Dickerson, IOL, Bama - Normally I love OL and specifically Alabama OL, but this would piss me off because it's interior and not OT, and it's a guy with extensive injury history. 3rd - Mid-Rd Safety Reach w/ OT available - Two or three solid OTs are there, one of which probably should have been a second rounder. Pace reaches for a Obi Melifonwu-type who has the measurables but minimal statistics to back it up. …

Will Pace do right by the team or will he get selfish and greedy like the grinch? Gamble the Bears future with a huge Trade up, stay put, or trade back and infuse team with more potential talent? These are among just a few of the questions and draft scenarios we all ponder. Here is my final Mock that addresses current and future needs! 36. Zaven Collins LB Tulsa …

NFL Draft 2021: Hoge's Bears Mock Draft 4.0 Of all the mock drafts I have reviewed, I think this one is one of the best. It has trades involved that are very realistic vs pipe dreams I also like the players selected. If this could become reality, I'd be excited beyond words Unfortunately, I doubt we'll come anywhere close to this predicted draft/
