We are under two weeks until the 2014 draft kicks off. The long wait will soon be over. Time to be bold and make some predictions. Who do you think the Bears will draft? You can predict one pick or all 7. Here is my take: Rd1. RaShede Hageman DT- I don't think Donald will get by 12. Hageman is still learning, athletically gifted, and has size. Rd2. Deonne Buccanon S - size, speed, and a need Rd3. Pierre Desir CB- lengthy small school talent with great understanding of work ethic Rd4. Shayne Skov LB- hard nosed LB that makes plays. Just curious on your thoughts about Lovie's continous effort to go for it, and fail, on 4th & goal from the 1. I'm in the middle. They were down by 3 at the end of the 3rd and should've taken the points and tied it. They didn't and while the throw wasn't great, it was a ball Clark has to catch. Against the Lions they had 4 plays to get 20 inches and couldn't. Again I take the points but Lovie trusts his team can get such a short gain in 4 plays. On top of this, Forte needs to get his pads lower at the goal line. He's running too upright and is down at first contact by a player.

We're some 40 hours free of the end of the draft and a lot of thoughts have been kicking around my head about these guys. Probably yours too. So let's get them out there. With apologies to Peter King, here's some things I think I think: 2a. Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington - The one pick I got right in my mock, and I wasn't at all sure about it because it heard that CB is not a priority in the Flus defense. Oline should walk home after that display at the 4th and goal. Also Im sick of turner outsmarting himself. He thinks he is being so damn tricky but he is predictable. D coordinators. just need to guess what ever play is the least likely to work to find a formation match. I mean seriously , you give it to the new fullback? What about running to the outside more. Number one for me is obvious: HOU - Monster draft. Clowney is a stud. Su'a Filo is a stud. Both start day 1. CJ Fiedorowicz has a good chance of starting day 1. Same goes for Louis Nix. And for that matter, if this Savage kid has what a lot of people are saying, he might end up starting. If not now, maybe next year. The other 9, in no specific order: ATL - Very good draft. Matthews is a 10-year bookend, and Hageman is a DT with great upside. They needed speed in the defensive backfield, and Southward has it. I also liked Shembo in college. I was reading Brad Briggs and he talked to an insider type and that person thought that is the order there draft will fall. Not saying we do in fact sign a vet but if we did who would you want? I personally want Jones. Sure he's comming off an injury, but with the right structured contract he could be had for a bargain. I like alexander and jordan, but fear that Turner would use them like he used benson. In on mostly running plays and a very minimum passing plays. This is what makes us so darn predictable. K.
