With Barkley's 4th start and 5th game played, all 3 QB's for the Bears this year had a large enough sample size to give a good comparison between the group. Out of all the stats, the biggest things that jumped out to me were the sacks and INTs. Hoyer had 200 attempts without a INT and was only sacked 4 times while maintaining the highest Comp% of the group at 67%. Comparatively, Cutler was sacked 17 times and had 5 INTs in only 137 attempts. Barkley has been sacked 4 times and has thrown 7 INTs in 162 attempts. Cutler was sacked every 8 passing attempts. When looking at 3rd Downs, Hoyer was again the clear leader with a 89.9 QB Rating on 3rd Downs, Cutler has…

http://www.pastapadre.com/2645/madden-09-p...tings#more-2645 Arguably OT, but interesting reading for those who care. The Bears overall are rated 80 (3rd in the division ahead of the Lions at 78). Depth Charts look like this: QB: Grossman (79), Orton (76) RB: Benson (80), Forte (80), Peterson (78) FB: McKie (84) WR: Booker (82), Hester (81), Bennett (79) TE: Clark (86), Olson (85), Davis (72) LT: Williams (79), St Clair (73) LG: Metcalf (78), Beekman (78) C: Kreutz (93) RG: Garza (85), Beekman (76) RT: Tait (86), Barton (70) LE: Ogun (89), Anderson (83), Idonije (76) RE: Brown (85), Anderson (84), Bazuin (76) DT: Harris (95), Dvoracek …

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 9m .@DanWiederer reports #Bears closing in on a contract for LB D.J. Williams to return. http://bit.ly/1h7u6by More than likely another vet min deal, or near it. Believe he played for a mill last year, probably gets less after another injury plagued season. Would provide nice competition to Bostic and SMD (Greene as well I suppose). I still expect 2 of those 3 to be the starters. ****EDIT*** Done deal, details later.

Frank Smith is the TE's coach. Anybody ever heard of him? I'm hoping we get some guys with experience under Gase. Jason George is the new strength and conditioning coach.

1. Montez Sweat has 12.5 sacks with 3 games remaining. The Bears single season franchise leader is Quinn at 18. Sweat can pass him with 2 sacks per game for the final 3. That would give him 18.5, even though not all of them were on the Bears, it is still a single season accomplishment. 2a. Fields needs 77 passing yards to pass Rex Grossman for 14th on the franchise Passing Yards leaderboard, 85 more to pass Vince Evans, and 160 to pass Mike Tomczak (12th), 167 to pass Rudy Bukich, and 208 yards to pass Johnny Lujack for 10th. All those seem achievable this weekend. 2b. Justin Fields has tied Bob Avellini for the 5th most losses in franchise history, with one mor…

The SCORE's been making fun of this depth chart all summer, since the Bear's refused to name starters at WR or QB. This frees up about $2M in cap space. This puts the Bears close to $30M under the cap (based upon Biggs analysis).

Bears remain 'Plex-ible' at WR By Vaughn McClure | Tribune reporter May 18, 2009 Bears fan Tony Tudisco from Aurora put himself on the hot seat Sunday when he inquired how Jay Cutler would thrive "without any receivers to throw to." Bears general manager Jerry Angelo fired back. "Sounds like you're from Wisconsin," Angelo said sarcastically. The receiver question was sure to surface as spirited diehards gathered for the annual Bears Expo. But before the festivities began, Angelo discussed a possibility he previously had dismissed: Plaxico Burress. "As I said, we'll look at every option," Angelo said. "[His] situation is different because…
