There we go! Schofield and Rieff were both on the offseason radar.

from profootballtalk.com BEARS INK A ROOKIE Posted by Mike Florio on May 30, 2008, 9:13 a.m. The Chicago Bears have reached a contract agreement with rookie tight end Kellen Davis, a league source tells us. Per the source, it’s a four-year deal for the fifth-round pick from Michigan State. Davis is the first rookie to sign with the Bears from the 2008 draft class.

The Bears have signed S Kevin Byard to a 2 year deal. Details are not yet available. This is a HUGE move. He's been a perennial All Pro. Our secondary is stacked now. Poles has filled the two glaring holes in our roster (C and FS) and free agency hasnt even started yet. That's not to say he won't do more at center. These moves are also a sign that he's not trading the #1 pick.

Competition for Conte Bench spot

So there’s your safety help. The guy seems curious to me - always thought he was more of a FS, so I’m not sure he paints great with EJ, and he’s coming off an injury. I wouldn’t presume he gets handed the starting job over Bush.

Got this on my Facebook newsfeed: He is an inside man with WSCR The Score. LOVE this move. Depth can only help, and he may start.

Potential Wilson replacements have been underwhelming, so worth a shot IMO. If he can stay healthy (and out of trouble) he's just what they need.

@AdamSchefter: Former Saints DT Sedrick Ellis has reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears.

More split time for Olsen? Always good to have depth. Looks like Clark is content with the situation. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Akcr...t&type=lgns

This is excellent news. We really are going to be a team for several years. Edwards has been playing very well. I wonder how long Edmunds will stick around, we are paying him a fortune. He's got all the measurables, but his production has been lacking. Maybe the new scheme and coaches will unlock him, otherwise, his days could be numbered - probably after this year. It gets very cheap to cut him next year.

RT @ESPNChiBears: #Bears sign safety Tom Nelson to a one-year deal, per a league source. RT @ESPNChiBears: Nelson, a native of Arlington Heights, Ill., played high school ball at Hersey then at ISU. Spent 2 years w/#Bengals. Also time w/ #Eagles.

Does this send a message to Rodriguez our two time arrested TE? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/...-send-a-signal/

Had a good year in 2009 but has fell of since. Started 2 games 2 years ago for the Pats, recorded 3 sacks. No question a vet min deal which doesn't hurt. Probably competes with Austin Lane for a spot on the team.
