Will probably be available soon. Was thinking this earlier this week and heard someone mention it on NFL AM; what if Chicago were to look at him as a slot receiver?

http://walterfootball.com/nflrumors.php There would be "panic" in the Bears' warm room if Aaron Donald is off the board, according to Todd McShay. ------------------------------- If this were Jerry Angelo's war room I'd expect a panic move if his targeted player were off the board. We're led by Phil Emery now and Phil plans for all situations. Besides that, we have so many needs there will be several options. If one of the top 3 LTs fell to us and we took him I'd live with that and move Bushrod to RT (likely next year). At #19 you are hoping your guy falls to you. At #14, in this draft, you will have a significant talent on the board when you pick. The ot…

Number one for me is obvious: HOU - Monster draft. Clowney is a stud. Su'a Filo is a stud. Both start day 1. CJ Fiedorowicz has a good chance of starting day 1. Same goes for Louis Nix. And for that matter, if this Savage kid has what a lot of people are saying, he might end up starting. If not now, maybe next year. The other 9, in no specific order: ATL - Very good draft. Matthews is a 10-year bookend, and Hageman is a DT with great upside. They needed speed in the defensive backfield, and Southward has it. I also liked Shembo in college. BAL - I don't care about the rest of their draft, but when they started Mosley, Jernigan, Brooks, it made that…

Just thought I'd open a thread for tonight's game. I hope Cutler plays a quarter with the starters and then Jimmy shows he can handle this offense at least as well as we saw him do last week. Obviously the D Line will be a big thing I'll be watching. If they can build on the success they had last week that'll be very positive. #1 goal: Stay healthy!

  7. 1. Fire the entire coaching staff. Replace with veteran coaches with some proven winning capabilities. Coordinators with SB winning experience. With passion. Make the head coach be a strong leader. No more prefessors. No more mild mannered DC's like Jauron or Smith. Arians would have been nice... Someone like that. So close...we are like Indiana Jones' retarted brother (no offense to the mentally challenged). We keep choosing the wrong chalice (unwisely). 2. Put Emery on the hot seat. He's drafted well enough besides the first year bungle of McCellin. But, he's shown a huge downside in chosing coaches. Done't get tricky. F this next hire up, and he go…

  9. Take it for what it is worth. Clearly the Bears and Ballard are interested. I think the Bears are lined up to meet with Ballard on Wednesday and are meeting with some other GM candidates today / tomorrow. My guess is by Friday Bears will introduce their new GM, if not sooner.

http://dawindycity.com/2015/01/05/report-c...eneral-manager/ Well.....it sounds like they have made up their mind. Did they really need Ernie? The guy spent 12 years with the Bears what could Ernie have told them they didn't already know?

Obviously there's no way to know exactly how much say Fangio had in the drafts when he was in SF, but he had to have some say, right? So I figured I'd take a look at the defensive players they drafted. One big difference in looking at this is the fact that SF was already running a 3-4 when he got there and they already had Patrick Willis, Navarro Bowman and Justin Smith (to name just a few). 2011 1 - Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri - 6'4" 263, 4.78 3 - Chris Culliver, CB, South Carolina - 6'1" 201. 4.40 6 - Colin Jones, S, TCU - 5'11" 200, 4.34 7 - Curtis Holcomb, CB, Florida A&M - 5'10" 184, 4.47 2012 5 - Darius Fleming, LB, Notre Dame - 6'2" 245,…

  13. A lot of this could be just me sipping the kool-aid, but for awhile now I've been thinking that this D they put together COULD be pretty good if all it's parts play to their potential. DL Ray McDonald- I think the off the field stuff is really blinding people on just how good McDonald is. Here's a guy who in Fangios very successful time in SF played the 3rd most snaps, so he was obviously a key part to a very good defense. Rotoword said he was one of the best 3-4 DEs in the league last year. Eddie Goldman- They got a guy to take on doubles which will help on every level. The run defense will be really good on the first level. 2nd DE?- We have a plethora …

Bears remain 'Plex-ible' at WR By Vaughn McClure | Tribune reporter May 18, 2009 Bears fan Tony Tudisco from Aurora put himself on the hot seat Sunday when he inquired how Jay Cutler would thrive "without any receivers to throw to." Bears general manager Jerry Angelo fired back. "Sounds like you're from Wisconsin," Angelo said sarcastically. The receiver question was sure to surface as spirited diehards gathered for the annual Bears Expo. But before the festivities began, Angelo discussed a possibility he previously had dismissed: Plaxico Burress. "As I said, we'll look at every option," Angelo said. "[His] situation is different because…

Said Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo, “I feel good about the secondary, if we can stay healthy. I like the safeties. Craig Steltz should take a step this year. Kevin Payne got a lot of playing time last year. I even like the guy we took in the sixth round [Al Afalava]. We picked up Josh Bullocks, who has a good play history as well.”

Texans agreed to terms with QB Rex Grossman on a one-year, $745,000 contract. We're guessing that Rex isn't being brought in to compete with Dan Orlovsky, who the Texans will pay about $3M this year. Grossman, 29, holds an awful career completion rate of 54.2 and a weak 6.4 career YPA. Most likely, he will push Alex Brink to be another insurance policy behind starter Matt Schaub, who's missed 10 games with injuries over the last two seasons. Source: Houston Chronicle

19 days to Camp: Football Outsiders projects Bears to win NFC By Brad Biggson July 12, 2009 7:22 AM | Permalink | Comments (37) | TrackBacks (0) The game of baseball lends itself to endless statistical analysis. You could just talk numbers from now until Tuesday's all-star game about the struggles of the Cubs without even mentioning the sideshows that have dominated the season to this point on the North Side. There is a statistical explanation or trend for everything. Football isn't broken down in quite the same way, or at least it has not been in the mainstream. But the good folks at Football Outsiders are doing all they can to introduce some new tools for e…

With each passing day, I can't help but wonder what the hell is going on w/ Graham. Most recently, we read about Bowman going down in practice. After that happens, two things are seen/heard that stand out. One, McBride is called on to fill in for Graham. Two, when Lovie is asked about Bowman going down, he talks about how we have other players ready to step in, mentioning Moore and McBride, but no mention of Graham. I really do not understand what is going on here. We read early on that Graham is being moved to FS. I thought he looked solid at CB last year, but w/ Vasher looking healthy and FS being such a dire need, I said, Okay, and went along. …
