  1. For a 33 year old, the length can't matter much can it? For him it's all got to be about guaranteed dollars.
  2. FWIW, here's the statment the Broncos put out: I find it difficult to believe that the Bears weren't one of the many teams that called to see what the Broncos were thinking. This is going to be a long, long process if he does wind up moving. There's certainly no guarantee the Bears can put together the best offer (The Lions you know, do need a QB, and if I were them I'd move their pick for him). Denver is going to be the stubborn one here.
  3. Hasn't cleveland already spent an incredible ton of money on their O-Line?
  4. If there's one spot on the field that I actually want Angelo using a 4th or 5th round pick on...it's DE.
  5. If you offered the Bills Williams, and they liked him, and they got an extra pick out of it, thus saving them a decent amount of money, I think they'd jump at it (assuming they liked williams)
  6. And yet he also got himself suspended for the final game of his college career. At some point, mistakes start becoming a trend.
  7. The big problem is...If I'm the Bears, I don't want to give up my first rounder unless I'm getting a top-of-the-line QB. A top of the line WR just isn't enough for me to be willing to go in to next season without additional O-Line help. And if I'm the cardinals, i don't care if he's holding out, I don't give him up unless I'm getting at least a 1st rounder back.
  8. If his workout was truly that bad, I could see him dropping in to the 2nd.
  9. Re: Britton Don Banks @ SI has a new mock draft up today, he has the Bears taking Britton in the first, and he has them doing so with Oher still on the board (Maclin is gone in his). He says Oher is falling rapidly after the combine while Britton is rising. Here's his comments:
  10. I'm so going to punch this guy Willis if I ever meet him. Jerk.
  11. As always, depends on what the guy winds up actually being traded for. (Would Angelo even be able to answer that question about what he proposed for another team's player? Couldn't that be tampering to say that publicly?)
  12. Is it plausible that the Bears could trade down a few slots, pick up say, an extra 3rd/4th rounder, and still be able to get their hands on a solid RT in this guy? Especially if someone like Sanchez is still available at 18, who might pique the interest of a number of teams.
  13. Especially when you consider that the draft happens before Cutler could really do anything to try to force a trade...like holding out.
  14. I have difficulty believing the Broncos would give Cutler up for a mid-first-rounder unless things are a lot worse than I think and no one else offers anything better.
  15. The Good? He started 14 games last year. The bad? He started 9 games the 2 years before that. You can't say "He's my #1 guy at a position" unless you have a backup. But he could be a reasonable bridge if you draft/try to develop a young guy behind him.
  16. With the age differences, there's no way Holt approaches that much.
  17. And the City of Industry, CA, seems to be this close to having permission to begin building a privately-financed modern stadium within the L.A. basin.
  18. Makes sense when you think about it...he will sell tickets. No market in the NFL needs a ticket sales boost like the Buffalo market does.
  19. Just because the coaches like to bench people doesn't mean it's the right decision. Especially if they've finished the rookie benching for Bennett. May as well see if we can use that 3rd WR spot to strike gold with someone.
  20. Honestly no, it wouldn't. The Bears need a #1 possession type guy. But they also need to have room to develop their own guys through the draft. You don't build a team through FA and be successful, you build it through the draft and use FA to plug holes.
  21. He was on Romo's side 2 season's ago (seriously, that display was just pathetic) but last season he wasn't any more. He was complaining late in the season about not getting enough passes thrown his way, despite getting the majority of Dallas's passes thrown his way, because he felt like Romo was focusing on his new buddy Witten too much.
