  1. The NFC East still has some defenses though. The Eagles are always solid, the Redskins just completely overhauled their D-Line and added in the $100 million man, the Giants have a dominant D-Line and are adding back in Umenyiora this season after injury, and Ware is pretty good on Dallas.
  2. The Bills have been rumored to be interested in him since before the draft (supposedly that's why they didn't draft an LT and felt comfortable trading Peters).
  3. In other news, John Madden is in talks to do the Vikings games on radio.
  4. Last year, over the last 5 games, Tavaris Jackson put up something like a 116 QB rating. I believe over that stretch he was 2nd in the league to P. Manning.
  5. Do the Bears have the roster spots to keep both him and the new draftees around? It's not worth signing him if it costs you one of the guys you just drafted or one of the other guys like Anderson or Dusty.
  6. I find it interesting that this is probably the first positive blurb I've read about Vasher this offseason, the first thing talking about him "returning to form" rather than being on the chopping block.
  7. The Bears needed some way, some how, to come out of this draft with a QB, given that Orton was a FA after next season.
  8. One other thing you have to note/like here...the big problem for the Bears front office in 2009 pre-last-month was going to be...what the Hell do they do about the QB situation? Because Kyle Orton was going to be an unrestricted FA next offseason, the Bears were going to be faced with the dilemma of potentially overpaying him mid-season to get him to sign, or having to pony up $15 mil + next offseason to franchise tag him just so that they could have someone to fill that position. Hell, the Bears would have even have had to move up in this draft to wind up with Freeman. That position was going to be an absolute mess that had the potential to destroy the Bears' cap space next offseason. Now, the Broncos are faced with that dilemma...do they overpay Orton mid-season to get him to sign or do they franchise tag him next offseason at a huge cost. It's entirely possible he could put up an average season but still be the best QB on the FA market next year. That's just a mess you don't want to deal with.
  9. it's also possible that this guy could be viewed as a replacement/alternate for Hester.
  10. Sounds like a guy the Bears can maybe mold in to something. Classic angelo type mid-late round pick.
  11. Someone post what the deal was for whenver it is known.
  12. Making one mistake with the Cutler situation is one thing. Now ignoring the defense and grabbing a RB? You have to wonder.
  13. I came from the Patriots system, I know more about football than you ever will!
  14. He gets to play alongside Haynesworth. Suddenly that Giants D-Line might have some competition in that division.
  15. That suggests that Aaron Curry is going to be the one to fall. At least to 5.

    Boldin...

I have to note...I wonder if a dropping price on Boldin is suggestive more of injury concerns than it is a lack of demand.

    Boldin...

There is no player in this draft that would have that kind of value who will be available in the 2nd round, even considering a new contract extension for him.
  18. He doesn't have any other public positive test results, but he certainly has a negative behavioral reputation before this.
  19. Well, we got through the Bears at least.
  20. An interesting Angelo nugget...
