Ok, do people think this sounds fair: We seem to have enough people to pull this off if most people take 2 teams or so. Tomorrow at noon CST, I'll post a list of every team other than the Bears. Those, we'll just go first come, first served, replying in the thread or sending me a PM/Email. Using a random number generator, I will then hold a single choice drawing of anyone who sends me a PM before that point saying "I'm interested in being the Bears" or something to that effect. I will exclude myself from this drawing for fairness, although I'll tell you right now I'm grabbing the Bills unless someone vehemently objects. Does this work for everyone?

Coming off an injury, I don't think I'd invest a 5th rounder in him. You might talk me in to a 6th.

My thinking exactly. The report there suggests he might have had a shot at going somewhere in the middle rounds pre-injury. If you're holding 4 7ths, most of them won't be doing anything but filling the practice squad on the Bears anyway...even if you draft another QB it might not hurt to have him there.

In the right situation, I might be able to see this working. You stick him in New England, for example. Team with a lot of strong, dominant personalities, the kind of which can help control him, it might work. Wade Phillips? Tony Romo? TO? Who exactly is going to be the strong leader on this team that helps this guy keep himself under control?

Well, per previous discussion, I've gone ahead and re-shuffled forums a bit. Everything NFL is now in the Bears forum, as a majority of the posters here seemed to want. This forum is now set open for any other sports talk you feel the urge to engage in.

For a bit of entertainment pre-draft, now that all the combines are in, all the comp picks are in, and on and on...would people here have an interest in slapping together our own mock draft? The rules we've run previously are pretty simple. Everyone interested gets to sign up to be GM of a team...sometimes a couple teams if we can't pull off 30 some odd people willing to chime in. You can do whatever you want. Make trades with another person on the site for players or picks, let the clock expire and have your pick drop (I'd probably do something like a 24 hour deadline to get your pick in before the next person goes), etc. Basically, you go until we hit the actual draft or we run out of picks. Would people be interested? If I can get 10-15+ affirmative replies, I'll open up a signup thread and we'll get started ASAP. Only 1 person gets to be the Bears, and I'll go first-come, first served when I put the thread up (but I will give y'all a warning several hours beforehand as to when it will appear.)

I've been going through the IPB options, I found one that allows flash/html things to be included, but it's already on. It can't be the right one, I don't think.

I think you may be trying to do this, so here's the guide. If you're trying to put a Youtube video on here, the procedure is pretty simple. On the youtube page, copy the text for "Embed". Paste that text in to the normal post entry box. Then, before you post, you have to turn the HTML option on. Normally it pops up as HTML off, if you turn HTML on it will read the embed script and you'll be able to watch a youtube video in the thread. For example:

I think there's almost no chance the Bears will have a top 3 pick. Devin Hester would have to have a head on head collision with Brian Urlacher in Camp for that to even be possible. The defense and special teams are too good.

Problem with that metaphor is...you haven't taken in to account the fact that a highly drafted RB might be useless without a good O-Line. So it's not just buying the plasma TV while living in a shack. It's buying a plasma TV while your only TV reception is provided via antenna from a transmitter like 100 miles away.

The Texans haven't exactly been known for their offensive line performance for the past couple years. Or they have been known for it, because combined with David Carr, it's been horrendous.

When I merge a thread like that, I always change the title to reflect the latest news. But hey, no biggie either way.

If you insist. Usually I'd have just merged this with the other Briggs thread and changed the title, but no big deal. For a bit more emphasis I did edit your title to stick in the 3rd round draft pick flipping, since that's at least a little bit of news.
