  1. Tommie Harris was an impact when he was in top form. Also, Big Ted and Keith Traylor made a big difference on the DL. In fact, I liked that line-up far better with Url being able to get to the QB more. But, damn do I really miss having Mike Brown. I'm still of the mindset missing him was what really brought the D down.... Url could almost make it happen w/o...but with Mike Brown in there...we were f-ing beastly.
  2. Let's be honest. When hiring, no one is going to get a HC that just won the Super Bowl. You will either get an unknown commodity in a coordinator like Arians, a re-tread hoping to pull a Billicheck, or a stellar college mind that one hopes is like Harbaugh or Kelly. It's all a gamble. There will always be a doubt. My friend from NE was pissed when they hired Billicheck...at first. As long as the chosen one isn't some complete left field guy from the Austrailian rules football club..I.'ll feel that the brain trust, set up w/ Accorsi's guidance, has chosen a guy that has a chance to be legit. I'll give him all the support he needs. But, if I see he isn't getting it done, then I'll shout for his ouster. Until then, I'm simply on board.
  3. To me, your 2 sentences sums our overall situation up perfectly...and how we fans should proceed forward.
  4. NFL needs to clean up officiating. Isn't this the 2nd or 3rd game this offseason impacted potentially by a bad call? Refs should be full time and paid well. Bad ones should be ousted. And they should utilize the same ref teams as used during the regular season barring health/etc. Enough already...

Just thought i'd reiterate the obvious...
  6. I'm honestly not sure what to make of him. I do know it was dumb of the team to let him galavant cross country to tape his show on cable. That should not have been allowed. Other than that, I don't blame him for outburts in the locker room. That should have stayed in the locker room. He was one of the only guys giving it all towards the end before he got hurt. As you mentioned, he got a lot of guys to get conditioned. With all that said, I'll leave it up to the GM and eventual coach to do what they feel is necessary. If he stays, don't let him moonlight. If he goes, get something for him.
  7. ...and Mike Brown. He was the true unsung leader of that amazing defense. Without him, we were never as good.
  8. To butt in... Teddy is w/ the Bears ownership whether we like it or not. We have no choice in who is owner. So given that, it is the best possible situation for building a team.
  9. Welcome to the Bears family Mr. Pace. At least this had Accorsi's blessing...so from that standpoint I'm happy. Only time will tell. But, at the moment, there appears no reason to be anything but pleased.
  10. Everything I've heard, it's simply that Hub doesn't like him and wants him gone...
  11. Tresty is interviewing for the Jags OC position as well. Must like Florida...
  12. PFT is saying they intend to interview him... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...eneral-manager/ Report: Bears to interview Mike Shanahan when they hire a general manager Posted by Josh Alper on January 6, 2015, 9:03 AM EST Denver Broncos v Dallas Cowboys Getty Images Mike Shanahan interviewed for one of his old jobs when he spoke to the Raiders about their head coaching vacancy and he may also get a shot at taking a walk down memory lane in Chicago. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bears are expected to interview Shanahan after they hire a general manager. There’s no word on when that will happen, although reported favorite Chris Ballard is interviewing with the team on Wednesday after passing up chances to interview for other openings recently. Shanahan never coached the Bears, but he did coach Bears quarterback Jay Cutler in Denver when Cutler first hit the NFL. With Cutler’s contract difficult to trade and cutting him prohibitively expensive, it may be a plus for Shanahan that he’s worked with the quarterback (and wide receiver Brandon Marshall) in the past. Shanahan is drawing a lot of other interest around the league, though, and he may get a chance to go somewhere where there isn’t quite so much toxicity in the relationship between quarterback and fan base.
  13. I'm right there with ya. I really thought and wanted him to be the guy. I think he can be useful for another year...maybe 2 depending. But, I just don't see him as the man.
  14. I did read that. However, all that doesn't appear to translate on the field. I'm simply looking at results and what I see. The results aren't there, and there doesn't appear to be a tremendous amount of communication between Ctuelr and other players on the sideline. Part of being a good leader isn't that you're the popular kid. It's that you get results. All the players could like him. But the results aren't there. There are very few comeback wins on his resume. Especially when down more than a TD. At least to me best recollection. I've just seen enough from Cutler to get the feeling he's not the one. He can be the filler for a year or 2 while we find the one...but that's about it.
  15. I'm pretty much right there with ya C-Dog. jason made some great points, and on paper it doesn't look as bad as when it's actually watched. Cutler, to me, just doesn't seem to have "it". He does not appear to be a leader of men. He's got the skills, but not the x factor. Jimmy Mac had it. I think we will have him next year, so we should attempt to make the most of it... But I think we should draft prospects every season until we find the guy...
  16. I've heard nothing concrete. Just a lot of rumors from everyone from Brad Biggs to Dan Bernstein.
  17. Good. That means there may be something to the story that the Bears are willing to resrtucture Phillips' role if need be. My guess is that if they truly want DeCosta, they'll get him and give him what he wants. Placing Ted in a purly non-football role, but probably wording as such to make it appear on paper that he's not been demoted.
  18. Agreed. We need help at every line in the D, and if the most awseome OL is there....then you take him. We cannot get tricky. We need a pro bowler.
  19. Yeah. I do have real fears. Ceertain candidates are refusing to work with the guy. To me, that says enough. He needs to be officially put in a Finance only role and out of football operations.
  20. Trestman is all about practice!
  21. Angelo doesn't deserve that throrough of a response! Kudos for the info nonetheless!
